Originating from China, they were bred as companion animals for royalty and are known for their affectionate and friendly nature. Shih Tzus are playful and enjoy being around people, making them great pets for families. Regular grooming is essential to keep their luxurious coat in good condition. Despite their royal history, they are sturdy and adaptable dogs, well-suited to various living environments.
Even in this case, transformation is visible, but it is not like on the main channel. 😁

Funnily enough (on the Chewbacca theme), we have a pair of bichons that came in to our salon just yesterday: Artoo and Chewie.
Bichon isn't really the breed I would have chosen for either of those names, but they're pretty adorable!
Thats a LARGE Shih Tzu ! Friends have one and it is barely half of that size.
and just a few hours ago I was grumping to the other groomer in the room with me about how difficult it is to clipper a shih tzu's forelegs tidily and that honestly we should just give in and scissor all the legs with chunkers from the start! This video makes it very very tempting.
(To be fair to myself, the shih tzu in question is a cross with something I don't know - coat and body shape and temperament are completely shih tzu except she's all black and MOST TINY (about 4kg, I'd almost swear she hasn't grown since I first saw her at 8 weeks old and that was over a year ago) - but her size makes it even harder than usual to run a 3 blade down the inside of the forelegs and get a neat result. Scissors are just... sometimes much easier.)
