awesome jam track!!! As a learner I have a question- when jerry absolutely rips this song...for the chord changes is he playing the d major scale the whole time and then highlighting A arpeggios when it changes, or does he ever change between a major and d major scale?
Probably playing D Major scale the whole time. But also D Major Pent. And over the A: Could be still D Major, but focusing more on A Major Pent and the actuall notes of the A chord ( A C# E).

I usually play along to the 7/7/89 when I practice this song. Absolutely impossible to keep up with Jerry - he was shredding the neck like a wood chipper at that show!
Haha! Sometimes his fingers were flying! I was scanning versions for a reference and really like the acoustic version from the 'Live Rarities". Maybe I'll do an electric version at some point.

Thank you for making this one. Now I only need to figure out when to start singing the verses and where the jam parts start and end. But the track is awesome...
I figured I wouldn't label the parts on this one. Feel free to add solos wherever you like. It's a good way to practice an open ended solo over a progression.
Frank Formica I mean it’s two chords so it should be pretty much up to you.. like FoTM they basically did the verses whenever jerry was ready haha

@@JeffWilliamsGuitar I sure would love a video explaining the use of arpeggios. Whenever I ask advice on this song all I hear is use arpeggios or use arpeggios combined with the chords. I have only recently learned where the arpeggios are and how to use them in a really basic sense. You seem like the coolest guy. Do you surf? thanks for everything.
@@seanenglish3002 Never surfed. I live in Boston and while there's great beaches in the area they don't have good surfing waves. Yeah, I'll definitely be making some arpeggio content soon.
