I feel like if they all autographed the box, they could easily E-bay that yarn and at least recoup the original cost. In fact, they could do that with so many things featured on the show.

They should give the first person to get a box an advantage, and let them “steal” anyone’s else’s box in later rounds, interchanging them. It would give the first bid winner something to do for the following rounds, as well as more strategy, and would encourage people to be more aggressive in the first round.

Anything to throw a wrench into this one, the winning strategy shouldn't be to not play haha
they should also make it so the person who gets the last box has to pay 1.5x or 2x the amount of their last bid so that you have incentive to bid on the 3rd box

That feels like too much of one, if you really can just be bidding for whatever you want, and it discourages the later ones from bidding a lot becuase if it can be stolen with nothing to do about it than the most you ever want to put in is the suspected cost of the first box. Some mechanic may be neat but I don't think that one quite works.

Make the last box bad, like a mythical kitchen concoction or something. Everyone writes down what they think a box is worth, closest over or under wins. Whoever has the most boxes wins and whoever does not have a box at the end has to share the punishment box.
@@kodiakjak1 If the last box is always bad, then you'd never stop bidding, driving up the price of the third box, making both boxes worthless.
We need a supersized edition of this where each box is worth 500+ and we have big bidders like Rhett and Josh on. I want to see them knowing the boxes are expensive and going WILD.

This game could be super fun with some mechanics changes. Having more boxes than players and enough bidder buying power to potentially get multiple boxes would allow for everyone to remain engaged in the game and not be as cautious early on. Also, the idea of the the general contents of the last box being unknown and automatically won by the second highest bidder encourages folks to not bid so they can try and be awarded that box; allow players to see all of the boxes and don't have any boxes automatically awarded to players. The starting buying power of each player should be equal but low enough that the value of the boxes (for the most part) exceeds the starting buying power so players feel confident that bidding and winning boxes will win them the game versus saving their initial buying power to avoid a loss.

I think this bidding hesitation could be easily solved by having 10 boxes, and you are all fighting over them. This way you aren't just stuck with the first box and the gap can accumulate with additional boxes won.

I think it'd be more interesting if everyone could bid whether they have a box or not, that'd raise the stakes and make people more likely to bid
obviously everything on GMM is fun and entertaining to watch, and of course a lot of the games you guys play are original and unique which all of us appreciate, but, this one in particular truly makes no sense. Noone on this game would ever bid hundreds of dollars, so when you buy one item that is nearly double of all the others, whoever happens to get the last box just automatically wins, with pretty much near zero chance for anyone else. I think some changes need to be made to make this more balanced, leading to a more competitive and fun episode. much love!

They’ve played this game a few other times. This isn’t the first time.
I love this game! I would suggest changing the rules so that the person with the bet closest to the actual price wins. That way players are encouraged to keep bidding no matter what the items are. I would also love a mystery box challenge with just the mythical kitchen crew where all the mystery boxes are food or kitchen themed!

I think they should change how they present the boxes, maybe they should give hints to all 4 box’s categories and then have the bidding start. I also think they should find boxes that are roughly within the same price range ($20-$50 difference) to make it more competitive!

She got screwed on this one. Rhett saying that the starting bid was usually 25$ for a 22$ box was also misleading. Even if she bid 1$ and stop bidding. Which is a good tactic for the last round. She would have lost. Thats how you beat champion I guess, by "cheating". 😀 Give Gwyneth her belt back.
