Lyrics :
Do ya hear the tui call, the huia
in the trees
A conscious thing I
do, sweet sound may you never
seize
Do ya feel my body burn
whenever you are near
A thing I
do, a fool for you will I ever
learn?
I hear voices its
summer calling
No more lone, no
more lone, no more
loneliness
Ti's the season to be
jolly
But its not working, its
not working, its not working
out
(repeat verse and
chorus)
Change is inevitable,
things don't last forever
things
don't last forever, things don't
last forever
Change is
inevitable, things don't last
forever
things don't last
forever, things don't last forever
Do ya hear me now
~

As a fellow Maori, words cannot even begin to describe how much I love her voice and the music she creates. Never stop creating, you're an inspiration to us all.
As a coconut Maori (kuki airani) who grew up in New Zealand, I feel that fire too :)
Manea/aatahua
@@juliustetevano6113 Why do I feel it and i am not from New Zealand
because its reconnecting to your creation, majestic, simple, belonging to our creator& all around and within, the spark we ignite again and again for eternity❤
Listen to her nearly everyday ❤
❤yes hard ...
As a maori woman living in Ireland i keep coming back to your music and it hits my soul every time!! Beautiful😍
I say as the song is titled reconnect. focusing on maori who have lost their culture within themselves and now, the ones who are searching to find out who they are are taking the journey. Learning, finding and exploring the land of their whakapapa. Treading the path of ancestral generations before them. Hearing the calls of Tane's children walking on the body of papatuanuku they become embodied in the way of maoritanga, And spiritually open the gateway to the path leading to their ancestors, and becoming one with the maori spirit inside them. I have walked the path and found my way now I stand forever proud, educated and faithful to my people. For a people without their culture is like a flock without its shepherd.
That Guy it feels like i will never find the way
obamas-right-testicle the only thing that holds us back is our minds -me
As I read your comment it's like you read my mind - I am walking that path and it has changed me spiritually, humbled and unable to put it into words at times. Thank you for sharing your thoughts (= Arohanui Gina x
Beautiful words..I needed to see this today (the years after comment was posted)
Tautoko to korero mauri ora. too much alright miharo
I am not Maori... I am African... and coming from where I do... I really appreciate Maori culture and wisdom. Maisey has reconnected the decedents with this song and I hope she carries on to do so. Maori culture and history will be the salvation for them. It will heal any hurt and any loneliness they may feel from a disconnection from their past. Respect to Maisey for this song. Great Job.
Kia Ora @tazabinegn thank you for sharing your appreciation it's beautiful to see❤
Giiiiiiiiiiiiiirl!!!!!!!! I could not agree more!!!! How On Point You Are Shows How Underground You Really Are Thankyou For Your Words Of Wise Wisdom You are so right As Indigenous People Of Aotearoa Our Ancestors Those Before Us Live On Through Us Knowing Damn Well Who We Are And Where We Come From! Knowing Our True Identity Leads Us Down The Pathway Our Ancestors Walked Knowing There Journey Speaks Through Not Only Our People But Papatuanuku and Ranginui (Earth Mother & SkyFather) ❤❤❤❤
Sou brasileiro, não sei absolutamente nada sobre Maoris, mas a música é relaxante e eu curti demais.

Freakin' awesome!! Top notch Maisey. Makes me home sick for Aoteroa, and long for the some of the old days / ancestors. I love the way you guys combined old with new - imagery, etc... Great cinematography / lighting / angles / mood / subject-matter - all goes beautifully with the mood of this great song. So filled with longing! I love the warrior sequences; haka and romantic moments. Also, love seeing your grand-mother (or whoever she is) - in this. Kia ora!
