My husband just got 6 new babies about a month ago. Last week he let 3 out, a blue bar, a red dun? and a red check I think. After hours they finally flew a tiny bit to the shed roof then the neighbor's kids fort roof and back. So the next day he let them all out, they were flying a bit and here came a hawk or falcon, so fast and chasing the red check. He was moving about a foot in front of the hawk, then gone and the hawk/falcon came back and swooped the other 5 as they sat on the shed roof and they all left. 2 that I don't know what they are walked into the loft, a red dun was hiding under the wheel barrel and my husband put it back. The blue came back 2 days later soaking wet and light from a snowstorm, we were shocked. I had read 3 days for a baby is too long and it was below zero and snowing. I was keeping a bit of hope yet they hadn't flown anywhere then to run for their lives had me losing hope. I looked out the window by chance the 3rd day and saw a bird flapping to try and get in the window of the loft! My husband ran out and it was the red check, soaked and very light. He put him in the loft, other birds were being mean so he put him in a carrier, brought to my kitchen, it had a wound that was healing on it's lower belly, we made some electrolytes, fed and let it stay in for 3 days during cold. Amazing to me that they came back, the dun didn't and it's been way too long for it now which is sad.
We're in Colorado USA, I subbed your channel for him, we both enjoy it. I'll try and make a video of them this weekend. Love the birds!

sounds like you have some nice birds there and also taking good care of them, soon you will have a much larger flock if you keep looking after them so well :)

Best way to let them out is to let your first rounds to fly around and when they come back tired. Then put out there bath on the grass. Then let out the young ones, so they don't fly anywhere but the coop. They will relax with the old birds and know there surroundings.

Hi. Sincere question here. If a young pigeon can fly onto a balcony railing, does that mean it can fly and fend for itself. I had a small box on my balcony. I moved it and a pigeon flew out. The young pigeon preferred to stay in the box and came out only when the adults came on the balcony. I see the adults on the railing but tonight I don't see the younger pigeon.

@Maney Lofts , man when you release them out from now , release the young ones separately and let them get used with the surrounding , not like you did with T-series , if you release them with the elder ones you will lose them , do not chase the youngsters around let them get used with the new enviroment .

Had a goggle watching coz I'm in a similar situation with my youngsters. Just be patient with them. I've noticed pigeons, even squeakers, are very thoughtful about new things and sit and think about it before acting. As long as they are trap trained then don't worry too much about their outside escapades.
