in another vlog i showed how they changed the stage successfully. actually that afternoon they still didn't make it (with some delay), but in the live show they did a great job!
I can only imagine the adrenaline the performers feel in those few seconds where they’re about to perform in front of the world, representing their country, the postcard music is playing, and the lights turn off... those seconds probably feel like years aaah!!
I really hope australians are enjoying themselves at Eurovision so far, because they bring a refreshing amount of talent and quirkyness to the competition. I always look forward to their show !
Trust me, we're enjoying it. 😂 I hope we're invited back after our 5 year offer is up, and I'm looking forward to seeing what Montaigne brews up for 2021. She's an incredibly creative person and as she's guaranteed her 2021 spot I think she can really let herself go artistically (as can all the returning artists that don't have to compete for their spots!).
@@raerae734 I believe she is going to do a different song than the one she performed at Australia Decides...which i think is a good thing...for me it was just OK...not the best vocally on the night...but as you say she is a creative artist so I’m looking forward to whatever she does next!
It is amazing just to be able to watch how quickly they get all the sets together. The production team is just incredible and I feel like we often take them for granted.
Wtf the control that Kate has over her voice and breathe are absolutely amazing, being able to sing so well a song that's it's naturally difficult in such conditions, on unstable pole that even floats around... I can't even think of someone who can do this except her.
That moment when you’re being rolled onto a stage in front of 190 million people suspended on a giant bungee stick and thinking “right...we’re gonna do this!” 😂😂😂😂
The best, most amazing and most mysterious performance EVER. I always wondered how those sticks worked. But one question still remains- how do they get on and off from those sticks? 😳
Wow! Thanks for sharing this. I can appreciate this impressive performance so much better now that I can see the sticks and what they are actually doing. (compared to the green screened official video)
I don’t think I will ever not be obsessed with this performance 😍😍😍 And so impressed with their control on the poles! Were they mechanical or moved with their own body weight??
I know this is from over a year ago, but they're kevlar javelin poles (the performers came to my school years ago) They move with their body weight but they're well strapped in to a little platform and a frame. THe circus the performers are from are called Strange Fruit if you wanted to look them up.
This is the first music video to put a smile on my face, granted it has only been 15 years 😂. Zero Gravity is one of the many firsts in my life I will never forget it 🥲
Watching this in 2021, after Natalia dropped her mic in Rotterdam... I don't even want to imagine what would happen if Kate would drop that microphone :| that would be so bad on a live show :/
I think one of the reasons Australia cant win is that even if they did win Australia can not host the next eurovison and has to nominate a country in Europe this plays into the politics of eurovison I think when Dami nearly won 2 years ago some in Europe had a little scare

Many didn't understand the meaning/message of the song and why it was staged the way it was.

In the beginning someone in the audience says "Illuminati", referring to Madonna's Rebel Heart Tour. I was thinking the same thing. Anyways, amazing performance!
Maybe some of the singers/production people on here can answer this?? But why on earth would KMH choose to use a HANDHELD MIC to perform this song? Like she is 5+ metres up, if she accidentally **drops the mic** mid-song the performance is all over! And if she used an attached mic like she did in the National Final, surely her hands would be more free to help navigate the giant pole and perform the arm choreography for the songs that had been rehearsed. Just curious after all these years!
Watching a lot of her live performances - she moderates the volume going into the mic by holding it away from her etc. Probably impossible to do with the attached mike. She could also (I think) get a bit more momentum going in the swing - watching how she moves it from hand to hand. Kudos to her for it. Us Aussies know that she can make her voice do anything she wants it too... but on top of an 18 foot pole.... amazing.
