    SORRY OT- I wrote you previously about my two leaf cutting of a Deliciosa Albo that got root rot, and lost all of its secondary roots. It still had like an eight inch main root, but had some rot on the end of it as well. Thus I placed it into perlite for the past several weeks, and kept a good eye on its leafs to watch out for any changes, which there was no degradation. So I assumed it was growing roots. However, while I have not seen any degradation of the two leafs, (other than them wilting a bit), I checked in on the roots yesterday, and it hasn't grown anything new, no secondary roots over the past several weeks. And another half-inch of the end of the main root was rotting again, or at least it was soft. It still only has one long large root left (~7"), but no secondary roots anymore.
    ***I am also confused about when you pull rotted roots off, and you are left with that thin string, should you leave that or cut it off as well???***
    So I am left wondering WHY this plant has not grown any new secondary roots over the past several weeks in moist perlite??? I switched the medium to perlite and leca yesterday, but I am mystified as to why there is no new root growth? I did dip the single large root in GardenSafe's "TakeRoot" root stimulator powder, before putting it back into the leca/perlite.
    So I'm asking you what I'm doing wrong??? I also decided yesterday to take it out of my den (55-65%), and place it into my grow tent where the humidity is way higher, around 87%-90%, hoping this helps it root somehow. Any information and help is very much appreciated. Please help me save this plant.

    • @prettyingreen
      @prettyingreen  Год назад

      I would guess that it’s lack of light. Cuttings need a VERY careful balance of lighting. Too little, and you’ll experience kind of what you’re describing. Too much and the cutting leaf will yellow off from the plant attempting to photosynthesize.
      Leaving the string of root you’re describing isn’t consequential. I remove anything that comes off easily in a hard stream of water.
      Humidity levels sound good for Monstera-I found it likes 55-70% for cloning!
      Propagating is the hardest, but most rewarding part of growing plants. But sometimes it works, but I’ve killed THOUSANDS of cuttings.
      I hope this helps! Good luck!

    I like your insight on the Monstera Mint, It's not worth to pay four figure price or even 500$ dollars for a plant that is fairly Easy to care for, many plants that are couple hundreds of dollars will come to 100$ and hundred is an untold border even for variegated specimens. Spiritus sancti and billietiae variegata are being propagated on day to dya basis so Let's just wait for more people to have it, then they won't be able to keep high prices on them

    • @prettyingreen

    I just found your channel. I might be interested in the future to buy plants from you, although I would like to inquire what company you use to ship your plants? I know a lot of companies use UPS, I have had nothing but trouble with UPS delivering plants to my location. When I use the tracking option it says it’s out for delivery and either it doesn’t show up for days or it says it’s not delivered and has been sitting at my mailbox For quite awhile. Needless to say I won’t order anything that is shipped by UPS. If it had happened only once, maybe twice, I would consider using them but it has happened WAY to many times and I’m not going through the hassle of trying to prove to them that they screwed up yet again. Sorry for the rant, but if you could please tell me what company you use to ship I would very much appreciate it. Thank you. 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄❄️💚🙃

      Hey Judy! We use both the express options from USPS and UPS. We’ve had customers in similar locations that UPS doesn’t effectively service, so we use USPS Express then.
      We’ve been shipping plants since 2017, and have come across just about (nearly) every scenario. We started on Etsy, where we’re one of the largest shops (Etsy.com/shop/prettyingreenplants) but now we also use our own site: prettyingreen.com
      We should be adding new products to the site for shipping in early January 😄 We always the support-especially in the holidays. Wishing you a happy new year also!
