  • PhishPhinders 7th annual (3rd year for me) trip in Newport RI did not disappoint with a nice 12.9 lb keeper being landed for the $1350 pool. This year Garrett's trip had a couple other RUclips content creators on board with Pedro from KEPTI Fishing and Dustin from RI Kayak Fishing Adventures.

      Thanks! Yea it was a bit of a grindy weekend for sure. People caught DDs but it definitely wasn’t drop and reel RI fishing. I still haven’t tried Booked Off yet but I’ve heard great things. Good luck on your next trips 🙏🏾

      Thanks! This is the 7’10” H Longfall rod. I personally love it. I’ve caught a 17 lb AJ on it so I know it can handle a 10lb Tog whenever I catch one 😃

    Drove 6 1/2 hours to fish weekend RI tog. Fishing was tough. Had two keepers each day so you did great ! Enjoy your content. Hope to see you on water some day

      Yea this past weekend wasn’t a fire bite persay but when you can at least catch 2 on a tough day that means it wasn’t an accident 😅. Thank you so much for watching 🙌🏾

    You never gonna catch double digit togs using little pieces of white crab on jigs. You need a traditional snafu rig and hook the whole crab. And forget about using that noodle of a rod. You’re wasting your time.

    • @PhillyGirlFishing
      @PhillyGirlFishing  9 месяцев назад +1

      Noted on the crabs but challenge accepted on the rod 😉 Thanks for watching

      @@PhillyGirlFishing Don’t say I didn’t warn you but when you need to drop down an 8 oz sinker deep down with a whole crab that slow pitch rod won’t do. Fishing shallow water with a 2 oz jig is a different story.

    • @PhillyGirlFishing
      @PhillyGirlFishing  9 месяцев назад

      @@maikp5505 let me point you to my Capt Stacy Jigging for Amberjack video where I caught a 15 lb Amberjack on the same “noodle” slow pitch rod then or my Triple Limit 1K Sub giveaway video where my homie lands a 13.5 lb tog on a slow pitch rod. It CAN be done when you know how to use your gear. It’s ok for people to have personal preferences on gear though so thanks for sharing your opinion Maik 🙏🏾

    • @maikp5505
      @maikp5505 9 месяцев назад

      @@PhillyGirlFishing amberjack was caught on a jig not a sinker hook rig. Tog was probably also caught on a jig but that’s what slow pitch rods are meant for, jigs not bait. Big togs on slow pitch rods with jigs are not the norm. Live and learn. I use slow pitch rods in Florida for amber and snapper all the time. I’ll wait and see when you land a double digit tog on a slow pitch with a jig and half a crab.
