    Cut a 2” long piece of pipe, then halve it lengthwise. Put the two pieces on top of the pipe you’re bending, under the rollers. They’ll conform to the pipe you’re bending and will prevent the dimpling from the rollers.

    I really do believe that your stiffener is as strong as others and much easier to make than those I've ever seen so far on U-tube. Not to mention cheaper!

    I remember hearing on someone else's channel that if you use a smaller die you won't get a flattened bend. Might be worth trying with a 7/8" die and a 1" scrap pipe.

    I used that same tool to build my rock buggy. You find out rite quick who your friends are when you bend up 260 feet of pipe. Like 50 pumps of that little handle for a 1/4 inch of bend on 1 1/4 .40 pipe. Those sliders look great

      Thanks man. I have never used it with a very thick material. I'm sure it's a nightmare

      Back in the late 90s there was a company called McMillan hydraulic. They had a electric hydraulic assist tube bender. A floor model size of a shoebox . It came with computer software with 900 bends it shows how and where to mark the pipes does all your take off measurement for multiple bends . It was the coolest thing ever for 795.00 . I wish they we still in business. It would be great to have for an exocage.

    You can also cap of the ends and fill it with sand. The sand keeps the pipe from collapsing

      I have heard of this technique but never tried it.

    Where does the bender pinch the pipe when you go to much? Right in the centre of the bend or more towards the longer end? I noticed your long end of the pipe is touching the concrete floor on the second last bend and could be causing a fulcrum at the top roller, could that be what is causing the pinch?

    • @MuddyBeards4X4

      It very well could be. I think it tends to pinch the pipe I think because of the design. Its applying pressure really only on the center of the dye. And it dents the pipe on the rollers but that may be because it's pretty thin material

    For better bending results heat up the apex of the bend. You won't get flat shots at the end of your pipe. Once bend is made have five gallon bucket of water ready to dunk to freshly heated pipe into to restore strength.

      That's a great tip. I will have to try that next time I'm using that bender

      How hot? I am going to be doing this, I am guessing a propane handheld torch won't heat it enough?

    I may be wrong but those braces underneath seem like could go in the opening then get you stock by hitting that brace. I would cover all with one solid piece

      @tjdesignzable 4 года назад

      sorry " a rock could go in between the braces"
