3;58, isn't it 2 NADH that are oxidised to NAD or does it not matter?

u keep saying that NAD gets oxidised but it is NADH that gets oxidised into NAD.... since NADH is already reduced.....

At 3:00 don’t you mean to reoxidise the NADH rather than NAD?

What is the reason for my body to be running in an anaerobic state. Like I can barely brush my hair without my arm failing. I have mild macrocytosis (mcv 102, mch 34.5) but they say this is normal. I feel so far from normal I'm depressed about it 😢

Hey Miss Estruch, we love your videos in our class, however I have a little question. You state that a H ion is a proton and an electron, but I thought it was a H atom which has lost an electron? Please can you clarify. Reduction = gain of an electron, loss of hydrogen or loss of oxygen.

      Hi Carrie,
I understand that a hydrogen atom is broken down by the energy from the electrons in the chloroplast, to protons and electrons. The electrons than move down the electron transport chain, and protons are actively transported into the intermembrane space (Oxidative Phosphorlation)
      Hope this helps!

hey! So glad you like the content.
A hydrogen atom is a proton + electron. So if a hydrogen atom is picked up, then an electron has been gained.
Reduction = gain of electron or hydrogen atom.
      Hope that helps

I know you teach AQA, but for OCR do we have to know the enzymes used to convert lactase back into pyruvate, lactase hydrogenase I believe it is?
