The new Manxman looks like a well fitted out ship with lots of comfortable spaces and cabins.. I particularly like the outside deck where you can sit a table. Well done. A well made video.
Referring to the public survey that asked for what people needed in the new ferry from a few years ago, did they include power points in all the lounge seats for mobile phones/laptops? Power points are found on the mainline trains, busses and even the little train from Lancaster to Heysham, so surely they were included on this expensive new boat?
Certainly does not look like the Manxman I sailed on from Ardrossan in 1972 in a Force 9 gale when virtually every passenger threw up. I remember the wooden slatted benches down both sides of the ship being awash with vomit! I honestly thought that she was scrapped a few years ago.
The old manxman was scrapped years ago I sailed on her many a time from belfast 2 Douglas and a lot of people threw up on her that is true but this new manxman was built in South Korea and only arrived in iom.a few weeks ago after sea trials and looks a splendid vessel compared 2 the old piston driven manxman belfast northern ireland
What's the point of getting a smart new ship when the company treats it's passengers with utter contempt. Don't believe me, try dealing with them after a cancellation of a ferry or being put on standby. Steam Packet have a monopoly and know you can't go anywhere else so your treated worse than cattle. I hope with all my heart that this venture fails and the Manx government are forced to allow competition for the ferry services and we can finally be rid of this god awful company.
Looks like all the information gathered from dog owners on improvements they would like to see on new boat must have got lost at sea. The dog lounge is no better than the old one. The pee tree is a good idea but why in 2023 they felt the need to build a dog jail!!! Is beyond comprehension. Thank goodness the dog cabins are still available. Not overly impressed with the new boat considering the cost of the fares, I think the Steam Packet need competition. I'm not the first or the last to say this.

i believe i sailed on her back in 1979/80 time, dont remember the Manxman being so nicely appointed back then :)
It’s a brand new ship this year so I guess they’ve upped their game on the design and facilities!

That version of the MV Manxman was scrapped yes, this is a new custom build vessel for the Steam Packet
