Glastonbury & Street Lions Club Model Railway Exhibition - Saturday 24th February 2024

Welcome back to ba14eagle channel and a successive weekend at a model railway exhibition. We are back in Somerset this weekend and making a first visit to the Glastonbury and Street Lions Club show, held at the Meadway Hall in Compton Dundon village. This show was very much held in the memory of former organiser, Howard Martin, who sadly passed away in March 2023.
This show had a very narrow gauge bias. Now, I'm no expert on all the different scale and gauge combinations of these layouts, so have not quoted them, like I usually do. They ranged from the fairly usual OO9 to O9, to very different, to me anyway, 1:50 scale on 9mm track! There were a couple of 2mm scale N gauge layouts.
Layouts featured are as follows:
Sandsfoot
Welton
Wintoncester Water Works
Bonsai RhB
Hobbiton End
Moor End Lane Works
St Oswalds - a new layout to me and very much, my show favourite.
Wantage Tramway
Ramma Wood
Quarry Siding
Cody Street
Sodom Hall
Llanbobble
Snallbuns Abbey
and finally, the familiar, Kaninchenbau.
The great thing with all these smaller layouts is that even a small village hall can accommodate lots of them.
I will hopefully be making a return visit to this show, should the new organisers keep it going - I might even try to get an invitation as an exhibitor!

Good choice! Some really original modelling, done in great detail. The bottom house had a detailed interior! Shame I couldn't get the camera in close enough.
