      I agree with he plays "nothing more. nothing less" as his role in LTE, but not in Dream Theater. Early Dream Theater had so many unnecessary, pretentious fills, but I love that. And yeah, not just the snare sound, but the whole kit! One of the things I like about Mike's drumming (and there are many things I like about Mike's drumming) is the drum/cymbal tones he chooses... he always has such great sounding kits, where all the pieces sound so good, both separately and together.

      @@larzblast Yeah! In truth, I used to be utterly frustrated with people comparing two great drummers in their own rights! Well, in my case, I've moved on and we're way past that now! But it's so good to know that even after so many years Mike and John / Jordan were musically apart, they seem to click instantly as they've met again for LTE! That's true friendship for you! And of course, true musicianship!😁
      P.S. : And for those idiots who do not understand my comments : No, I'm not complaining about Portnoy leaving DT and certainly not talking trash about Mangini! All I'm saying is I'm sick and tired about people comparing MP and MM, even after so many years! If you can't understand such a simple comment, then go take a brain dump, cause it's of no use to you!

    • @larzblast
      @larzblast 3 года назад +1

      @@asheshinfinite3766 To be fair, it was the "DT has found its soul back" comment that gives the impression you're part of the crowd begging for DT to ditch Mangini. It's a simple comment with a different interpretation to what you claim you were trying to say.
