This song came on when I was channel flipping in my car (something I never do). I had just found out I was pregnant after being assaulted. I can't express how much this song saved me. I am now 4 years later with a beautiful daughter. I needed to hear this at that exact moment and God provided.

Anyway, what I want to point out is that God lets us suffer, because he wants to see who we really are, and to make us better people. That's the only way to recognize us as his own and to cleanse us from our impurities. Yes, God can let terrible things happen to you.

I'm kinda late to the reply party, seeing as this comment was made four years ago, but... God doesn't "give us more than we can handle." He doesn't say to us, you either have hell on earth or you can turn to me. LIFE is more than we can handle! We don't (or at least, shouldn't) turn to him when things only get HARD! And he's always there for when we do mess up, and he's always pursuing us when we turn away.
This is such a true song for this day we are all living in today. Thank you God for writing this to me in your WORD.....I often quote this verse when I think I cant take any more.....love this song very uplifting....

This song changed my life
This song came on this morning when my world felt like it was trying to suffocate me. I just closed my eyes and listened, and then I was able to get through the day with a smile on my face. This is a great reminder of God's love for us, and it sure does help knowing someone believes you can do it. :) I think I need to write the lyrics on a t-shirt or something, so other people can see them.
My favorite thing about group 1 crew is that they have fun songs like live it up. But they also have songs like this that are so true and are impactful on everyone who hears the song

Okay, first of all, God does let things happen to us, because he knows that if we hold onto what he said we will get through it. So all the hubub about this being bibically inaccurate is incorrect. I have been through 14 surgeries, which sounds like its more than I can take, because it is, but I God helped me get through them. He didn't let me break, even when I was to the breaking point. Yes, it has been a struggle holding on to what he said, but it is the only way to get through our struggles. Whether it's surgeries or other things, remember, God is always there, he will help you get through the bending!

I have some short term and working memory loss problems I've always dealt with, and in high school I was given way too much work in general, and was staying up till way past my bedtime just to finish my homework and leftover classwork that everyone else was already finished with. (It would take me longer to complete.) It was the only thing I could think about and it was consuming me. My blood would gush in my head so much that I couldn't hardly even think anymore, and I'd cry so many tears I couldn't see the pages in front of me, but still I'd press through. I eventually came to an absolute breaking point and cried some of the most painful, heart wrenching tears of my life, believing wholeheartedly, for the first time, without a doubt that I was stupid; that it's who I was and who God knew I was, too, and, at that exact moment, God played this song and completely flooded the fullness of my heart, soul, and mind with probably the most of His presence I've ever felt in my entire life. It was the first time I had heard this song. They modified my work load after all this. God is so amazing, and I wouldn't be or know who I am today without Him in my life, and without Him using the words of this song to speak to me. (: ❤️ So many more people need to hear this song. (: ❤️

Hi its been a while but just to share from a mothers perspective, I am on the same boat, single parent with 4 children, definitely hard and at times feel like the strengths have been sucked out of you and you can no longer stand strong. One day I felt like that and finally broke down my daughter dedicated this song to me, not only do these moments bring family's closer together but it helps us together beleive in Gods promise, be there for your mother, you are her strength to keep pressing on.

I happen to listen to a Christian radio station all day long and this song plays almost hourly, and I felt the need to speak truth into the people who are getting sucked into its false message.. by the nature of the aggression directed at revelation of such truth, I can see I struck a chord...

I think when they say that He won't give us more than we can take, it's not so much that he won't give us bad stuff such that we can depend on ourselves and not Him but a comfort that we're gonna make it through this, despite how bleak it seems. Like when they say "I might let you bend, but I won't let you break". Bending sure ain't comfortable but if we hold close to God, we're sure not to break.

yes, God has done that to me a number of times in my walk too! We will never "arrive" at knowing everything about Him, not even close.. it is such a journey to know Him better and live abiding in Him! :) I would have to say that Newsboys are my favourite band too, along with Rebecca St. James, and Mandisa. Oh, and Romans 8:28 is the very first verse I came to when I became saved. It always has deep meaning for me :)

I lost my father four years ago (my mother died about two years before him). Before they died, I'd always wondered what I would do if they passed. Jesus strengthened me to come to grips with their deaths.

There are also some thoughts that perhaps God allowed Job to be tested because he knew that Job could handle such harsh testing. Yes we should be totally dependant on God. I misphrased that. However, I think God tests different people different ways. And God doesn't want to break us. He wants us to know he is there for us, and always will be. The song is just talking about how some people struggle with so much and are asking God why me? He tells them that he knows what they can and can't take.

But instead of trying to fix some pretty "BIG" flaws, or mistakes she has made she yells at me when I try to give her advice. She leaves the house leaving me to take care of my little sister.
