I think i figured out what you don't like about the face: his face is from where we first see Gutts in the anime before he joined the Band of the Hawk while the body is from 3 years after he joined.
Nice review,man. And you're right something is off about face.It's not the smirk,since guts does smile a lot more often during that time of his life. Heres the problem...Doesn't look like Guts. From any version. Face is too long, nose is too long and flat. eyes placed too close to the forehead. black swordsman guts was much more accurate. We already got 3 versions, but I'm hoping for a non exclusive Berserker armor guts,with an non helmeted additional head.. Maybe that one might be better.
I really hope the Berserk story is wrapped up within the next 5-10 years. Miura isn't going to live forever, and I would hate to see him rush it in his twilight years for the sake of getting it finished. It must be hard for him, Berserk has become his life's work, which I think is the reason he did Gigantomakhia. It gives his life meaning which doesn't depend on Berserk, even though Gig may borrow the style which has become synonymous with it.
I hope to see it wrap up fairly soon too, I kinda felt it went off track a bit in the last few years. Hopefully Gigant will get out his excess creative juices out, so he can finish off Berserk with the same power it started off with. BTW thanks for mentioning Gigantomakhia, hadn't even heard of it!
I like the figure but it is way to loose. His legs fall off alot and so does his upper body from his waist. Maybe I got a bum figure but it was a big dissapointment for me.

If it helps you, I bought one recently and it does come with that clear sword, but at the end of the day, is just to mantain the sheath in its place while in the box, it doens't have another porpouse but that one.
Am I the only person who thinks that the movies got Guts's face wrong? This figure looks like that. Compare Gut's beautiful face in the manga to the movie and figure's. It's off. He had a very distinct face and they got it wrong. Bugs the _crap_ out of me.
I have a question, it this worth getting? On Amazon I read some reviews that say the figure is loose and fragile, and that the hand broke off. Of course it could just be a bunch of idiots who mistake interchangeable hands for breaking. But, is it fragile or loose, or is it steady and nice? Please respond, thanks.
Noah G I definitely think it's worth getting. It's not a toy so is a bit delicate, but it won't break from normal play. However my Black Swordsman version of gutts fell off a shelf in an earthquake and lost an arm

I have all 5 berserk figma, all of which I would have got for around $150 in total.Casca and golden age guts I got off amazon, I got Griffith online new but without the outer box so it was cheap. Got the black swordsman guts in Osaka for about $20 new 4 years ago, and got the berserker armor version for about $70 in Akihabara the day it came out.
I got this figure and I have to say it was my least favorite of the berserk series. There's a significantly large gap between his cape top and shoulders. You can't have the helmet, cape, cape top, and sheathed sword all together as they don't fit together smoothly, and idk about other figures by my gut's right arm keeps falling out and the goddam socket barely fits the shoulder bulb so i constantly have to keep trying to squeeze it back in which makes changing poses a pain in the ass. Mine also has really loose leg and lower torso joints. The large gap between the helmet and facegaurd kinda annoys me as well. I find the quality of this one was lower than the Berserker, Griffith and Casca figmas. Stay clear of this one unless you find it at a low price.

The head is weird because it follows the movie redesign of Guts. Looks a bit off when you're primarily a manga reader.

Guts's face in the movie was really bad
Guts has very strong features, that's true. He has a jaw made of stone, and normally a very stoic expression. Neither of which are on this.

I don't have any DC collectables so I can't say for sure, but the figure is 16.5cm/6.5 inches tall and is about 1/12 scale if that helps.
