Fascinating and informative video, looking forward to the rest of the series. Wishing you well in your quest of finding all the variant types of Dragonflies and Damselflies.

That was very interesting as well as educational. I have never seen them as a nymph.
Thank you very much for sharing this. Cheers ☘

For a split second, I thought you were going to put that spoon to your mouth when you lifted it to look at it. Nice Vid. I will watch the others 🙂

Yes I only eat the pond life off camera :D
Seriously though, thank you for watching and the comment :)

Excellent Neil, thank you. Especially relevant after my recent questions in the FB group. I'm now armed with the kit and applying for a licence to cover the eventuality of finding Coenagrion mercuriale. Since most of my sites are within a national park, I'm also having to ask permission from the park authority. Fingers crossed!

Thanks Steve. I'll may be in touch if I have time for a Hampshire visit this Spring

@@ukwildlife I'm intending to start at the Exbury "hotspot" next week; no chance of Southern Damselfly and outside the park authority purview (I think) so no issues there.

Great video! Can't wait for dragonfly season here in Canada.

Great stuff. I got 29 species last year, with only 3 overnight trips away from Middlesbrough. I will be spending some time in the South this year. Looking forward to following your adventures (and getting a few southern species myself).

Looking forward to this. Have considered doing this myself - have got 30+ species in a season over the last two years. It is mainly the northern species that elude me

I'd give that a go if I lived in the UK. I live in Ottawa, Canada and we have recorded 125 species in our region. Getting them all in one year is not really do-able.

Fantastic video . Look forward to more. Are the close up videos taken using the Olympus 60mm macro lens ?

Most were, I think the scarce emerald may have been on my Pentax with 100mm macro
