As a huge 40K fan, this is hilarious to listen to them try to explain the lore and pronunciations lmao
😂 agreed!
same
@StarCityGames PLEASE: When casting a spell, read the name of the card and all of its text. There are so many (160?) new cards from the new Warhammer 40,000 set and your viewers are excited to hear all about them.
I think what I enjoyed the most was that Corey and Stephen didn't know what was in their decks. Watching them react reading the new cards was great. Thanks, guys!
Just an FYI, you don't get to draw a card from Ravenous if you cheat the Ravenous creature into play with The First Tyrannic War. The draw part of Ravenous is tied to X in the mana cost, and if you cheat it into play, X is by default 0 regardless of how many counters The First Tyrannic War put on the Ravenous creature.
was looking for this, but makes sense, they have like 160 new cards across the new decks, some new stuff to figure out.
@@JW-452 they should really get a judge in the background
Jon knew and said this ruling, but acquiesced to the flavor of letting a pre con synergize
Some constructive criticism for the editor, it seems like the camera angles spend more time on the players than on the battlefield, for the first 10 minutes of the video it's been hard to keep track of the gamestate since the camera only blinks to the battlefield everytime they play something and then instantly back to a player's pov.
Pause the video?
@@ethanmitchelson I could pause the video every time they play something, untill i tire of doing it and stop watching, or i could make a comment giving feedback and hoping the program improves.
Or they could go back to having the game matter more then Corey being on the screen. #unearthkyleandjustin
This was 100% the best episode Ive seen in years…
This was awesome. Think the biggest compliment the precons could get was how often you guys were gleefully sharing cards in your hands.
I hope we can get a second video of this, maybe switching decks around or just replaying the same decks. Then another video of upgrades done to the Precons would be cool too
All these decks look super cool. I have never played Warhammer before and know nothing about it. For some reason the flavor is just calling to me. Great Gameplay as usual.
I highly recommend looking up some lore videos for Warhammer. I did after seeing the decks revealed, and it goes hard. Now I'm painting up my own Necron army to go with the deck, and I'm having a blast.
@@sirmoth3955 That sounds awesome. The Necrons really remind me of the old school Phyrexians.
Jeremy has accepted his new role as Chairman of Morton Salt Co. congrats!
I appreciate everyone's excitement over the new art. But since it'll be more than a week before us peasants can get out hands on these decks, I would have also appreciated a quick flash of the card (even the basic [laser beam] swamps!).
You can literally hear steven start to consider picking up a necron army....
Does anyone else flinch whenever Cory presses really hard on opponent's cards on the table when selecting targets?
No, because it's just cardboard used to play a game.
@@hexx_4093 cardboard costs money especially these decks 🤷♂️
Warhammer 40k cross over 2
Tau
Eldar
Orks
Maybe a specific space marine legion?
Is it just me or is Jeremy the only one who becomes Archenemy the second he's in sole possession of first? I feel like Jeremy refuses to take people out early or gang up on the guy with no board state.
Yeah, it really annoys me and ruins a LOT of the games due to the utterly pointless points system as they focus on that WAY more than actually having a fun game.
I agree , the tyranid deck really didn't get a good showing because of this
Yes, a season ago Stephen (who I love) was in first and no one touched him all season. They battled mostly for second all season.
Good guy Jeremy, he's a gentleman
I feel you Jeremy - I’m bummed the Tau aren’t there either :( hope we get a part 2 with them, Aeldari, Votann and I guess Orks (who I know are in the secret lair)
I love Tau also, I think they would be heavy on vehicles.Tau: Azorius maybe Jeskai
Orks: Gruul
Aeldari: 5 colour
Drukhari: Dimir
(LOL The broken) Votann: Boros
How am I not surprised that Jeremy was a tau player
I hope we get PROPER Tyranids in Part 2, because we got knock off imitation with garbage mechanics :(
I'm worried aeldaei would all get pumped together like the imperium,I'd love a solo drukhari deck with vect and hespwrax commanders, maybe even rakarth
@@mr.mammuthusafricanavus8299 I think the Tau would definitely be Jeskai Vehicles
Corey missed getting his Spawn tokens from Magnus.
'No you don't have space marines' He literally has space marines, just has a lot of the other imperium stuff too :P
Corey looks like a human version of Mark Zuckerberg
Hope this one isn’t riddled with misplays
As always, it is.
Can I ask if you could always put the cards they play up on screen so we can see the art and text? And maybe share the card on screen if someone mentions they love the art or a card? Please?
The Imperium of Man winning after coming down to the line. Sacrificing multiple boards and relying on huge numbers of bodies. Rather fitting.
The Emperor Protects.
This dude said the basketball professor then shows this dude with the professor haircut identical 😂💀
Jon's look when he actually read Be'Lakor was priceless
it seems none of them used an Assault Suit before... Equipped creature can't be sacrificed.
To be fair it’s not that great
Great. The Herold of Ta-Zuh-Neck at 53.46 made me spill my beer 🍺😞
They got rid of Corey mid season and didnt even introduce his replacement? Whoever he is he looks much younger and full of vigor. Cant wait to see how he does. Did anyone catch his name?
I wish he would have kept the top a little longer than the buzz but whatever
Yeroc.
Version 2.1😉
the professor
The barber left his hair all over his T-shirt.
4 mins in, more flavour than the entire Command Zone reveal.
Ayo what. Corey with the fresh fade my boy got a lil Mild Sauce on em
it looks awful, he got actual bangs cut, whatever he was going with just ended up making him look like a Scene girl.
Wow 😂 that counter spell for the win was great
These precons looks really strong and alot of fun to play
Very fancy
Playing a Ravenous creature off The First Tyrannic War doesn't draw you a card. I know it's counter intuitive, but X is looked at as the card is cast, and the creature entering the battlefield isn't cast
I would absolutely watch a second video of these decks, maybe changing players around a bit though. If only Parnell was here for the mono-black deck, RIP in peace
"I've been waiting"
It wasn't bad. Hahah
Human Tyranids have always been around, there are Genestealer Cultists :)
Great episode! Sweet gameplay and no annoying music. I love the long running salt as well.
Corey’s got that MTV Riff Raff look going and I’m here for it.
just looks like he has goth girl bangs.
John: that's stupid there's no counter spells in Warhammer
Deny the witch: literally a counter spell in Warhammer and one of the most mechanically similar cards to the wargame. 😯
Funny video; y’all should do another round of these commander decks but put your own twist on them- put in cards to either improve them or make them your own.
The bugs in starship troopers are the “good guys” ironically. The humans are the ones that are exploring expanding exploiting and exterminating.
I love these Commander Decks. I start with the Necron Dinasties, then I bought the Tyranid deck... And I finally bought the last two Commander Decks. Best precon decks ever!
Insane cards. Just insane.
GG to all. These decks do look pretty powerful and fun
Awesome episode!! These decks look so good.
There are in fact counterspells in Warhammer 40k.... and they are actually called "Deny The Witch" *lmao*
Unfortunetly there is no Ork deck. I hope that more of them are going to be made.
I hope we see one of them use Tazyn the infinte as a commander with some upgrades
Bro I cant unsee the professor now lol
"Tell us in the comments how wrong I am, okay? I'm fine with it." hahahaha Stephen is the best!
thanks for the showcase ! keep up the good work!!
I am ecstatic that they are playing 40k cards. I am infuriated that they can't hear me scream at my screen trying to correct them on any 40k lore. And Jeremy being a Tau fan doesn't supprise me.
Corey got that crispy fade god damn
I really liked this episode!
This episode was absolutely one of the best yet. Jeremy well done for not bringing the salt when knocked out early even though you were targeted heavily. Stephen, I can only bow to the greatness that are your puns and the way you play commander. Corey and Jon their usual happy selves and playing in great spirit. Laughed along watching this and that is rare, shows how great the episode was
In what universe did he not bring the salt? He was so bothered it ruins the vibe so bad
@@seanscott4543 he was targeted out of the game early, still interacted and didn't ruin the vibe at all. Disappointed yes, salty no.
Definitely would love for you guys to play these decks again but switch decks. Amazing precons.
I am SO GLAD the music is gone! These precons are super exciting I'm really happy that I got to see them played on my favorite commander show!
Could we keep it on the over head view of the game more? It’s much easier to follow.
Did some play testing for the "church of the damned" campaign. Was really awesome to do.
-Space Marines!!
-Okaaay
-Pass the turn
-Okaaaay
-Draw a card
-Okaaaay
- (someone else says) Ok
-Okaaay
So I learned today that Jeremy likes the space weeaboos that's a suprise
3 out of 4 hosts being oblivious to 40k lore is hilarious. Even if you guys are into tcgs, havent you tried fantasy flight games warhammer tcg? It was very cool both art and gameplay-wise.
40k
D&D
MTG
Are the 3 pillars of nerdmanship of 90-00s.
I would love another with these. I was a fun watch.
can relate, wanted the tau featured as well cuz their designs are so SICK (also coming from someone that played DOW2 when i was younger, though I actually did have some space marines figures that i half painted and never played with lol)
I'm really excited to get these commander decks. I got into 40k over the pandemic and have played commander for years. I was thinking about getting a commander deck altered to look like the Blood Angels. These decks are awesome.
The amount of times I was upset about Corey getting assault suit wrong was 2 times too many.
Yeah he had a lot of good times he could have used it and just ignored its power.
Same here. Love the card. And Steven didn't realize it also gives Haste. Reading the card explains the card. (Unless the card is really old or was botched by WotC)
Corey did get Professor's (Grayson) hair cut lol. Nice fade homie.
Came for the 40k cards. Stayed for that Sweet Corey Haircut :D
Humans-space marines
Chaos- chaos space marines
12:00 Well while I will say it looks like you're playing Space Marines, that guy wasn't a human. He clearly said he was an Astardes. Which, like a Correlian is a SPACE Human. :p
Finally some commander precons that look awesome! Ironically it is a different franchise being used instead of MTG normal art. Commander decks lately have been given such a shaft over the years My excitement over the years was: I waited all year for this! to Meh, lucky if I even look at the decklists. I was one of those players that would buy all of them each year, it is sad the product got so trashy but these decks look like I am finally going to buy all of them :P
Really😭 I think some of the decks this year have been awesome but each to their own
Wotc really knocked it out of the park with these decks, especially the Necrons. Great episode team Vs!
I love Stephen, but based on his energy level the first 30 minutes or so, I figured he had either done several shots of espresso or a line or two of coke before the cameras started rolling. Wowzers.
Im tempted by the necron deck i already play mono black artifacts
I don't know if you picked it up yet, but the Necron deck is pretty sweet.
Go on Jeremy, my Tau homeboy.
I bought the necron one in collector's edition because the aesthetic is just so great. Gonna keep it all together for whenever I need to pull out a pre-con.
Did he not read that assault suit creatures can't be sacrificed?
Yeah they were probably distracted by art like I was so didn’t read it like me 😂
they were really good at not reading assault suit tbf
Reading the card explains the card 😂
RTFC lol
Assault suit has the words "cannot be sacrificed "
I don't know anything about Warhammer 40K other than it looks like a fun, complicated, beautiful game with a deep back story. I do wonder if WOTC paid for artists from their art department to come over and draw for the card arts as they seemed even better than the arts we get on some of our showcase or expedition pieces.
so deny the witch is a mechanic in 40k that is a counter spell.
Great episode!
They didnt read where assault suit says " cant be sacrificed"
Yup. @Corey
rip magnus trigger on his first attack. no spwwn token created and then would of died shortly after even if it was created
Jeremy and Jon were correct, Jeremy should not have drawn a card when Aberrant entered play. Ravenous cares about X being 5 or greater when it is cast but Jeremy put it into play for free so X was 0. But as he often is Stephen was incorrect because he didn't read the card...
I really wanted Stephen to play the chaos deck
just wish the whole point thing culd have been put aside for one game. we didnt get to see much of anything from the tyranid swarm deck because he got focused down quickly because of whatever thing they have going on. this is the only channel thats done this so far. i am very excited for these decks though, just preordered forces of imperium and tyranid swarm
Jeremy was around long enough to make his deck on of the few green decks I like (heavy artifact and enchant removal)
Never have I heard somebody butcher Tzeench so badly haha
In the grim darkness of the far future there are only sick commander decks and a newly established salt mine.
54:40 I think the guy running the life totals heard you guys say "take 3" for the looks and thought it was serious.
Please do a game with your upgraded lists for these decks
36:50 I was thinking Corey could assault suit Jeremys giant creature and it wouldn’t have attacked him
You have to equip a creature you control.
@@buggy65x are you sure
@@buggy65x maybe I was thinking of aura because you can put those on creatures you don’t control
@@Dark-Pikachu1 Yes, "Equip" is an ability that means sorcery speed and to a creature you control. Check out Bloodthirsty Blade for the effect you are looking for.
@@Dark-Pikachu1 correct.
I don't know much about '40k but i know its better than 39k' is a wholesomely bad Joke. Never change my man
Corey's new haircut looks hot!!!
>I'm pretty sure there are no counter spells in Warhammer
*Cries in Deny the Witch*
*Additionally cries in Gray Knights*
assault suit protects the creature from being sacrificed Corey. Reading the card explains the card.
that mono black legendary creature Jon has in his deck, Tracyn the infinite is a busted commander if you build around it.
He's not that broken, he is in your command zone so people know you're gonna try to infinite and since he cost so much mana people will be prepared with removal once he finally hits the board. He's good but definitely not broken.
I want Forces of the Imperium just for The Golden Throne. What a terrific card to mana fix any deck with mass token generation.
Mediocre card, just play Phyrexian Altar or build a good mana base. If you're in green you also get Cryptolith Rite. Don't play a card in your go wide deck that only takes advantage of one creature and not as many as you want
@@anonymoususer5351 what a bad take, just run all 3
@@MatthewCJoy I'm not gonna lie I've seen it perform pretty decently and I underrated it. That said, I don't think it'll ever beat either Altar and will only be added to it in certain go wide decks
Ok, I just saw a VTES card.
Now I'm waiting for a VTES game video. MAKE. IT. HAPPEN.
Do NOT mix the chaos deck and the Imperium deck into an astartes tribal deck.
That's not cool, that's not fun.
That's heresy.
~Your friendly neighborhood Inquisitor
I like how they tell Green he has the Imperium of Man and in the same breath tell him not the space marines. I had to go back and listen to that. And of course Jeremy plays Tau.
Damn that new guy has a fresh cut, but i kinda miss corey...
