Probably the most detailed video ever regarding this topic, hats off!!! Regarding the grease, since I could not find OKS locally, I sourced these three food grade types instead: Nevastane HD2T (Kinetic viscosity at 40C=130mm2/s), Lubcon Turmosynthgrease ALN 1002 (Kinetic viscosity at 40C=100mm2/s) and a thicker one from Kluber - Klubersynth UH1 14-222 (Kinetic viscosity at 40C=260mm2/s). Now my question might sound stupid but please hear me out: since the first two greases contain aluminium oxide thickeners, would they chemically react with the spindle nut and ultimately damage it over time? (can't tell if it is made from copper or brass). If this is the case, would the thicker Kluber UH1 do the job while having twice the kinetic viscosity compared to OKS 470 (110 vs 260 mm2/s)? Thanks
I didn't look into the chemical composition of the lubricants, but according to the description, the Nevastane HD2T and the OKS 470 are suitable for spindles and guides on machines.

Great videos! Thank you so much for helping. I have a problem with my ECAM 22 110, the infuser gets stuck in the high position, someone told me it could be the microswitch but i cannot locate it.

@@sampople Sorry, I don't know if it helps but you have to make sure that all components like microswitches and Reed PBC are checked.

My Delonghi Magnifica's triangle light always turns on (even though the inside of the machine is clean). I already bought a new infuser but the triangle light still lights. I am still able to use my machine. I just have to turn it on/off until the infuser gets to the right position & the triangle light doesn't turn on. Do you think I need to change the transmission motor? Thanks
Unfortunately, I don't know if changing the transmission will help. The warning triangle can mean many different errors. First check all microswitches for correct function.
Hi,
I just replace the brass nut ony ESAm 4400 because it was slipping.
Excited for my first cup it cycles on by moving brew unit down and up.
However once it goes up it stays and give a generic alarm warning.
Cycling on and of does nothing.
Cleaned brew unit and generator.
Tested motor up/down and shows both limits are being engaged.
Wondering if there is anything i am missing.
In summary brew unit hits up limit and stays giving generic message.

Hello, in this case I recommend checking the reed sensor for damage or correct installation. This sensor is responsible for counting the spindle revolutions; any deviation can lead to error messages. However, this sensor rarely breaks unless it has been damaged.
Didyou fix it? I have the same issues on my Delonghi.

Czy smar do tej śruby w przekładni OKS470 można zastąpić jakimś innym. Możesz coś ewentualnie polecić jakiś zamiennik.
Witam, CFG 1808 też powinien być wystarczająco dobry. Ogólnie zalecam produkty bez toksyn dedykowane do urządzeń kuchennych.

Like I said to you before I have a perfecta cappuccino and I’ve managed to clean and grease the brewing assembly and the transmission assembly but yesterday heard a strange noise and opened the door and I couldn’t get the brewing unit out..after I managed to take it off the rod was going normal up and down all greased but when put it back was blocked again down not up..
Took the brewing unit off again and now the transmission assembly it’s not working properly anymore and stays half way up and freezes there and won’t do his normal movement..
I think I need to change the whole assembly is in it ?
Any advice will be very helpful and appreciated 😅
I would remove the transmission and check that everything is put together correctly. Apparently something is wrong ;-/

Seems like it is something wrong with the transmission as doesn’t have that movement anymore I’ve removed the infuser and by himself goes up and when goes back down it won’t go on that channel .. if that make sense..

Can you help. I like you have 2 sets of shim bearings. I know one set goes next to the thread but the second set just appeared. Do they go on the nut side of the body?

Hello, yes, one bearing is on the inside and the other on the outside where the safety nut is located.
Hi, very nicely made in depth video, though I have one question. Does the transmission lubricant need to be food-grade as well? I have seen another video saying it doesn't need to be, but I am not sure. Also should use silicone or lithium lubricant? Thanks
I recommend white grease, but grease for the food industry is not required. I wouldn't use silicone grease.
I used for the spindel a extreem pressure lubricant from Polytron. Penetration lubricant. This lubricant lowers the friction and the wear. It runs very smooth

Take out beans, make 5 coffees, ignore the error message. Then enter the beans again, the meal should readjust over the next 5-10 cups.
Brilliant video! My ESAM3200 keeps getting stuck at the top right position. I usually screw the infuser back into home position (manually) and reset the error. It's happening more and more and I'm not sure why it's getting stuck. This morning, I got it unstuck, cleaned and greased the brew unit and the static post, and it got stuck right on the opening procedure (so there wasn't even coffee beans in the way). I know that the nut is worn out, do you think that could cause the machine to get stuck or get an error?
I think it's an electronic problem. I recommend performing a function test. Instructions are available on various forums. Lg

You have to look for thrust ball bearings. Unfortunately, I don't know the exact measurement.

Can I ask for help? When decalc working, there is no liquid from coffee nozle only from hot water nozle
With older models it is normal that the decalcification only runs through the water nozzle.
Thank you for the video. After I replaced the nut and reassembled, I get the error "insert brewing unit". Any ideas on how to fix this?
You need to make sure all the cables are connected at the top.
@@yt.myworks I checked all the connections and they are good. What's happening is the brew unit goes into a hollow position inside and when it goes up, it's not pressing the generator piston far enough to trigger the upper switch. I tried the test mode and motor up triggers the upper switch. So something seems to be wrong with either the electronics or the brew unit. Any ideas? Thanks.
Can anyone tell me how you extract the water tubes that fit into the steam boiler after you’ve loosened the brass nuts? (Delonghi 3500). Thanks.
@B J: Hello, I don't turn on the brass connections. You have to disconnect the Teflon hoses at the other end. Next week you can see in my new video how I do it. LG
@@yt.myworks ah but ... I have steam leaks coming out of the steam boiler joints where the water tubes join the boiler. I assume I have to pull out the tubes to do something- not sure what’s on the end of the tubes if anything. Your advice would be gratefully appreciated. Barry
They are connections made of brass. You can carefully try to pull it tight. The boiler is made of aluminum and breaks quickly. It is possible that the thread is already broken. I think you need to buy a new one with new tubes.

@@BarryElwyn123 I haven't used a sealant yet. Are there no spare parts in your country? I think replacing the parts is the best option.

Hallo, eine Markierung gibt es leider nicht. Du kannst die Spindelmutter erstmal in der unteren Hälfte positionieren und danach ohne Brühgruppe einschalten. Die Maschine findet ihre Grundstellung von alleine.

Wszystko pieknie, moj ekspres po wylaczeniu bokuje sie w dolnej pozycji. Po wylaczeniu przyciskiem z tylu i wlaczeniu ponownie ekspres ustawia sie prawidlowo moge zrobic kawe ale po wylaczeniu znowu wyrzuc wykrzyknik. Obstawiam ze ktorys z sensorow padl, moze ktos sie spotkal z czyms takim?
Jest możliwe ale myślę że błąd jest gdzie indziej. Częstą przyczyną są za wielkie luzy na wałku z gwintem. Wtedy tzw. "reed sensor" nie może znaleźć pozycji. Nadmiar luzów możesz sprawdzić ruszając siedliskiem zaparzacza góra/dół.
@@yt.myworks jest z 5mm luzu rzeczywiście, jak go zredukować? Wyciągnąć windę i dokręcić? Czy może jakieś podkładki dosztukować?
@@patafterhours6172 Zaznaczam że luzy są też w nowej przekładni. Wystarczą jednak jeden lub dwa milimetry za dużo i już nie działa prawidłowo. Przy demontażu należy wymienić mosiężną nakrętkę i tą mocującą u góry. Podkladki lub inne kombinacji nie polecam.

In most cases the spindle nut is worn out. This means that the transmission cannot find the basic position. In this case, it must be repaired or replaced.

@Ondrej Filo you can only do that by repairing the transmission. The transmission becomes loose over time and in this case the coffee machine cannot find the home position.

I always replace the spindle nut after five to six years of use. However, it also happens that the spindle nut is too loose, which results in an error message.
@@yt.myworks What error message do you get? My ESAM 3300 shows a flashing orange light (Preground coffee button) that I cannot figure out what sensor is causing this. Brew group well cleaned, greased, and orings replaced and moves smoothly, but each time it goes to tamp grounds (preground or grounds from grinder) the orange flashing light comes on and brew group returns to home position pushing out the unused, dry grounds.
What was the error message you got? Was it " insert infuser assembly" or what? thank you
I haven't had an error message yet, but there were loud noises from the transmission. If this is also the case with your machine then you have to grease the spindle or replace the spindle nut.

Leider steht neuerdings beim OKS 470 auf der Tube nichts mehr von Lebensmitteltechnik. Das Symbol für Lebensmittelecht ist auch weg.
Auf der Tube steht jetzt ein "NSF" Zeichen drauf welches für die Zulassung/Registrierung in der Lebensmittelindustrie steht. Außerdem gibt es noch Restbestende im Handel mit der alten Kennzeichnung.

Witam, nowy ekspres Primadonna Soul po tygodniu zaczął piszczeć - ćwierkać podczas pracy przekładni. Dźwięk wydobywa się od strony silnika a nie od strony zaparzacza. Co może być przyczyną? łożyska ślizgowe na silniczku?. Śrubę przekładni smarowałem smarem silikonowym ale to nic nie pomogło. Czytając opinie o tym ekspresie na Amazon parę osób też stwierdziło ćwierkanie po pewnym czasie.

Unfortunately I can't say that, but it could be that the electronics or the control panel are broken. Does the machine show an error message? Red symbols or similar?
No errors shown on screen, only messing around doing everything, but no coffee.

Posiadam model 2600 identyczny wewnętrza jak ten z filmu, problem: karetka zjeżdża na sam dół i blokuje expres , gdy ręcznie ustawie karetke wysoko expres sie uruchamia. Czy chodzi o jakiś czujnik ? czy trzeba zrobić serwis tej przekładni i zmiana na nową mosiężną nakrętkę?
Czujnik psuje sie raczej bardzo rzadko, najczęstszymi przyczynami są wyrobina nakretka i luzy na górnej śrubie przekładni.
Bei mir war das Gewinde der Spindelmutter durch. Alles gereinigt, die Antriebsstange glänzt aber wenn ich die neue Mutter auf die Stange drehen will, stockt sie sobald die Mutter komplett mit ihrem Gewinde auf der Stange sitzt. Ohne Zange kein Weiterdrehen mehr möglich. Die ersten 2cm drehen sich also wunderbar auf die Stange, dann geht nix mehr :/ Auch mit einer zweiten neuen Spindelmutter genau das selbe. Hat jemand eine Idee?
@Hallo Michael in seltensten Fällen gibt es wohl unterschiedliche Gewindestangen. Habe schon viele repariert aber noch nie solche gehabt. Die Spindelmuttern sind gewöhnlich passend für Gewindestangen mit einem Außendurchmesser von Ø 8,80 mm. LG

Motyw jest z nim taki, że ekspres zaprzył dwie kawy i w momencie włączenia spieniacza zaparzacz dojechał do infuzora, zapalił się błąd ogólny i wraca do spoczynku. Próbowałem wył./wł. ekspres, zrobić reset wnętrze czyste i nadal jest to samo, przy czym teraz po wyłączeniu go zapala się alarm przy włączeniu, czyli sekwencja startowa następuje do momentu kiedy przesunie się blok do góry, zapala się alarm i wraca do poz. spoczynkowej. Sprawdziłem go pod menu serwisowym i napęd normalnie śmiga, kontrolki na krańcach się zapalają, więc nie jest krańcówka. Masz pomysł co może być w tym momencie?

Nie odzywa się, ale odzywa się w menu serwisowym. Dokładnie to wygląda tak, ze włączam do prądu, pozycjonuje się zaparzacz i przechodzi w standby. Naciskam przecisk power, lekko podnosi się zaparzacz. Potem zaparzacz rusza znowu dojeżdżając do inzufzora, zapala się błąd ogólny, zaparzacz wraca do stanu spoczynkowego i migają LED-Y jedna oraz dwie filiżanki, i ekspres przestaje reagować na przyciski funkcyjne, jsk się domyślam procek blokuje z uwagi na wykrycie awarii... Kwestia grzałki to chyba nie będzie, bo sprawdziłem termiki oraz rezystancję i niby jest ok. Grzałki z tego co czytałem są spięte w szereg i razem powinny pokazać 42ohmy po przyłożeniu sond do styków górnej i tyle pokazują... Temat ciekawy, ponieważ generalnie w menu serwisowym działa wszystko, a jak włączę go normalnie to jest kicha...

@@PiotrK2022 Nie chcę wprowadzić w błąd ale jednak obstawiał bym na przekładnię. Może być że dobija do końca góra czy dół ale jest jeszcze elektronika tzw. "reedplatine" która liczy obroty. Jeżeli jest za dużo luzów to wtedy nie może znaleźć prawidlowej pozycji. Oczywiście jeżeli objawy są identyczne jak na filmiku.

Powiem Ci, że możesz mieć rację, ponieważ mój błąd - zaniedbałem ten ekspres i od jakichś 2-3 lat nie miał smarowanego napędu, tak więc moze być, że się wypracował, bo słychać było, że pracuje już na sucho. Miałem go przesmarować dzisiaj, no ale widzisz - nie zdążyłem...

Hi, I found two small metal balls (2 mm diameter) that fall from the Delonghi Ecam 25 of a friend of mine when opening / removing plastic case for 3 years cleaning (was recurrent error code). Balls fall out just after removing case, not yet starting any internal disassembly.
After cleaning, the machine seems working fine but still the two metal balls in my hand.
Looks like bearing balls, but I do not have any idea where they come from.
Do you have any idea ?
The balls can come from the transmission.

Only two seems missing (or I found only two of them) and machine seems working normally but certainly it could change
