It's impressive how KTM have made a monster V twin act so smoothly at low revs around town. My early 1200 Multistrada certainly didn't like low revs. It will be interesting what price this model goes for once the new ones are sitting in the showroom. Thanks for showing us the bike. Hopefully, I'll see you at the NEC
Had my Super Adventure for 15 months now. Got it from Jim Aim! The roads you filmed on I use every day for my commute. An observation, I think you were in a gear too high for most situations. You were in 4th in 30s whereas I'm in 3rd (was 2nd on my SuperdukeR). It takes the revs a bit higher which gets rid of a low down vibes completely and makes the bike much more responsive. And on those roads most of the time I find the engine much more responsive in 5th. 6th is really an overdrive and not much use below 60 (some will say 70+). Personally I think you were keeping the revs too low thereby accentuating the engine vibes. It's really much much happier above 4k. None of this is any criticism of you or the video, just an observation from an owner. It's nice to see tests done on the roads I use, keep up the good work and maybe see you at Finch on my RD350F2 next year.
@@spanky3101 Good morning Andy. Every day is a school day Hu!!!! 😆 thank you so much for your message. As this was my first ride on the 1290 it was a learning curve. So I’m happy to take all of what you said on board. I will be taking the 1390 out soon, and your advice will help me! So thank you. As you are a local to me please find me on instagram and drop me a message I have a project for next year and I’d like input!! 😁👍 cheers buddy Murt
I have tried to reach out to Armadillo a few times. Maybe they think I’m not big enough to bother with. Not sure but they have never got back to me. Please do keep the suggestion coming however and maybe I should try them again. 😁👍
Nice one Murt. I’ve never considered a KTM. Would I at some point in the future? Perhaps. I’m still in love with my GS1300. It would be fun to test ride without doubt. The orange is a bit much for me I’d dial it down with a silver colourway I think and the silencer would have to swapped out for something smaller, black and more attractive. Im test riding a GSA1300 on Saturday with the ASA. I look forward to your review of that big boy.
@@jjnewman65 Good morning Jamie. I only hope BMW let me out on one of their bikes again soon. I don’t want to turn my channel orange! I’m off to the NEC this weekend and hope to poke and prod a few new models. Thank you for your message much appreciated. Murt
My buddy who u met has a ktm 1290 adventure helmet love it but it's not for me but I have arranged to ride the new 1390 when it's out.. KTM stands for Keeps Taking Money . 🤣
The number one thing that strikes me is how narrow your roadways are as well as absolutely not run off room. We have bicycle paths wider. What's with cars facing different directions while parked?
What a total faff to start a bike. How can the manufacturers think all that rig maroll is bettet then just holding in a clutch and using a key. Great review Murt. The more i see of these type of bikes the more i love my old Harkey EVO and GSX 1400.
@kilakila992kilakila2 how is it a faff? Press the on button then hit start. No different to putting in a key, switch it on, then press start. There is no need to cycle the kill switch as shown in the video.
