FUN FACT about that Stormbreaker segment: In the novel, Alex used a Game Boy with the similar cartridges. Somehow, it's also capable of being a surveillance camera and microphone. This was a year before the GBA.

I read the first couple of the series, and completely forgot they existed until just now lol. Literally the only plot point I can remember from that entire series is him trying to escape in a trunk but getting found by a heartbeat sensor. Pretty sure the villain suicided at the end too.

This information actually makes it less corny. You could say Alex was always meant to use the latest Nintendo handheld as a spy device. Only makes sense that the film upgraded the Game Boy to a DS.

One group of guys made this really good horror film about a haunted school. Then, a few years later, long after it had ended, I found out about that Eternal Darkness contest and watched some of the winning entries online. Imagine my shock to see that exact same story about a haunted school. Those guys in my class years prior had plagiarized the whole film.

If anyone is wondering, the "Pikmin flower" does still exist, but it's now just known as 'bacopa cabana' or just simply bacopa (probably since the marketing is long since over and the general public wouldn't know what Pikmin is). Funnily enough, they come in white, pink (the species from Pikmin 2), and purple/blue (the species from Pikmin 3). You can somewhat easily find them at garden centers in late spring and early summer in small individual pots or as part of a bigger arrangement, like in hanging baskets. I make a point of getting one every year since they look very cute in my garden.

It’s really funny that they brought up that Haylie Duff was in “Napoleon Dynamite”... one of her other dogs ran away (and was reportedly eaten by a bird of prey) while she was filming it. XD

Yeah, there were black and silver GameCubes in 2002, by they were hard to find in Germany. Even my 17-year-old me didnt understand the colour selection. I am sure: A black oder silver marketed GameCube would have sold a couple million more consoles.
