One of the things that I love so much about Aaron’s playing is that he always replicates his articulations from the studio recordings every damn time he plays. Every pinch and slide that gives the melody character comes out when he plays. It’s subtle, but a lot of guitarists aren’t as accurate with that live
Aaron's subtleties are what kill me every time
@@ptrickthepat Spot on guys. Saw Aaron with Intervals in Hong Kong, up close and personal. The guy is just brilliant. Definitely one of my most favorite players in the post Satch/Vai/Govan generation.
@@joesatchton212 yeah i saw him in Charleston sc a couple years back with periphery and the Contortionist and got to have convo with him and hes a nice dude
You know, it's really admirable. The other approach is to be loose with it and improvise and that's great too because you get something unique every show, but being 100% true to the original recording is no easy task and something a lot of people will appreciate.
A Nigerian brother's got his own line of guitars now, sweet. I'll get one of these funky looking axes one day soonish
Gotten one yet?
That sounds unbelievable! So tight and percussive but incredibly rich for leads! Sooo killer!
I would like to hear it without the dozen or so pedals....
Same. I'm curious how the pickups would sound with just some distortion and a tube screamer.
Mike Poirier It won’t make much difference. You can make any guitar sound about the same. The amp is what’s going to matter most.
have no words describing it, and you figured it out perfectly...
Aaron sounds literally just as good as the album. His playing is SO on point. The skill he has 👍🏻👍🏻
this guy plays the coolest shit
He surely does...throw him at any Sam Ash or Guitar Center, he'll get onlookers for sure...soon the music store will be having a cover charge just to come in a shop because he's in there.
the touch and go performance was literally perfect, he hit all notes and live!!
Far out. Never Seen Aaron Shred so hard. Mad respect
Aaron Marshall is a monster of a player!
2:15 touch and go... you’re welcome
Legitimately one of the coolest sounding songs I've ever heard. I love the blend of technicality and melody that Aaron has. Dude is insane.
Tosin been a fan while aaron playing, like if tosin is not a huge guitarist, is so nice to see this
That thing sounds unbelievable. Still not keen on the shape but my god the noise
Yeah not big on the looks of the shape either, but I understand it's for practicality, you can angle the guitar upward sharply and use the other carving to rest on your leg(I'd love this for an 8-string especially), and more wood on wood contact with the neck.
I think they could cover all that with a better looking shape.
Tosin was just making what he thought looked cool, and it turned into him starting his own company. I'm sure a lot of people thought Strandbergs were ridiculous at first too.
Agreed. Shape grew on me a lot with time though, even if it isn't a classic shape. Personally, as someone who has tried to love Les Pauls for over a decade, I'm becoming more comfortable with oddball designs as long as they're comfortable.
I'm sure if I actually had one, I'd love it. For practice or in the studio it wouldn't matter at all to me, and well, how it looks to others wouldn't really matter much to me either lol.
It's mainly the top of the guitar that looks a bit goofy to me, but I'd get over that pretty quickly and maybe it's more important than I realize for the unplugged sound and feel of the guitar which is really important to me. I either practice unplugged or at low enough volume that unplugged sound is important to me, and how a guitar and fret board feels when I play is too.
I wish more guitars didn't have a finish that seals, I really want the Jackson Dinky or the Warrior in natural oil finish for that reason, will probably just end up getting both since one has a tremelo and one not, Dinky is only $300 and Warrior is $250. REALLY changes unplugged sound, but I think maybe even plugged sound since the wood breathes so much as it vibrates, I think it's possible it can affect the magnetic field around the pickups. Pinch harmonics really scream without a seal on the body. I think the Bare Knuckle Black Dogs would be really amazing on the Warrior, would probably go with VHII on the Dinky.
Sounds totally average..
I hope one day we can have a collaboration between this two masters of guitar
You know you're good when Tosin Abbasi records you playing.
God I'd die a happy man..
Tosin recorded everyone at the booth lol
I actually love the shape ! So tired of Les Paul's teles ND strats these are super dope
Tosin's outfit is on point btw
Best dressed man in Prog Metal
Lucas LeCompte it helps having a brother in the fashion industry.
he truly does look like a dapper gentleman
The plot of the video:
"Okay, how does this look on me, guys?" Aerith said as she stood in front of a mirror with a yellow sun dress on. "It looks really cute!" Yuffie said through a wide smile. "Yea, yellow really matches you. It looks as cute as a button on you." Tifa said nicely as she nodded her head. "Cute?" Aerith repeated.
Aerith wasn't shopping for cute clothes. She wanted something sexy and mature. "Okay, I'll just get something else" she said to herself. She quickly walked to the clothes rack and skimmed through until she saw something that was sexy and mature. After putting the dress on, Aerith was once again in front of the mirror waiting for what her friends thought of the dress.
Yuffie, Tifa, and Aerith all examined the dress carefully. It was a soft red lace, embroidered by small flowers. Its bosom was heart shaped causing her breast to be lifted. The dress was held up by a strap that was tied around her neck creating a bow. Her back was completely exposed. The dress was very form fitting around the waist but was loose around her hips and legs. It went about 4 inches above her knees with a slit to the side.
"So?" Aerith said nervously. "It's a pretty dress, Aerith." Tifa began, "But isn't it, well..." Tifa stuttered. "What? Is it what?" Aerith asked worriedly. Yuffie jumped in and spoke, "It's kinda sexy." Aerith's face lit up with happiness. "It is!" Aerith proclaimed as she clasped her hands together. "Why are you happy about that?" both the girls asked. "What do you mean? I want to look sexy." Aerith's voice was happy but trailed off, " I wanna look sexy don't I?"
Bro, lay off the pills pls
DUDE! You are the best for getting this :) Thank you so much
This guy, this guitar, tosin, Jesus man what a time
I want those pickups. I don't play anything near their style but good god those pickups are amazing
This is the best most impressive thing in Namm this year, I just pray to God they will make them for Lefites too!
Done. And no additional charge.
Awesome, 7 lefties and 6 lefties, please.
Side dots mannnn
And that base is tuned a little sharp like cheddar
60fps - gotta love that.
really amazing guitar and really amazing player. just noticed that he looks like a beagle when he smiles
so much positive energy!
Nahh Aaron you are a human cheat code 😆😆😆
so sick
so i guess the question is. did Aaron Marshall buy? or no
Those harmonic sweeps are nice !
So awesome
Sounds very good thank you
I knew it!!!!! I saw him in jared dines video and i was not sure if that was him!
wait.... is that an abasi bass?!
+jared noll it is!
whaaaat
great endorsement! "the pickups are crazy. It's like cheat codes" so sick!
I like that sharp chopped tone, awesome tone !
Love this guitar
Give us another Animals/Intervals tour!
Impressive. Most impressive.
You were at NAMM? Daymn! Nice!
hi sir.. this abasi is jumbo or extra jumbo frets? What’s the different if I play it?
Is that the guy from staind?
Is this the guy that does that finger tapping song? What’s it called? I’ve been looking for it for days
He just HAD to flex on all of us like that. Man..
I think i like the shape of this gweetar, especially after Tosin explained why... i wish i would be able to afford one of tosins guitars when they come out.. but i bet their going to be pretty expensive.. would like to demo some fishmab fluences myself as well.. i just want all the things apparently.. haha!!
3k ?! Damn man...I can't reach for that. My TAM ibanez I got used for 600 lol
And you got the bass playing with ole boy ?! 🤗
3:55 'It aint no thang'
middle position tone is fucking unbelievable
Yes fuck yes!
that is fishman tosin abasi signature?
Yes
So Ibanez made him basically this guitar and tosin just went went off and remade the same guitar under his own company?
Quetzalcoatl tosin designed the guitar himself. Ibanez built them but the design was conceived by tosin himself. If you watch the video Anderson’s interviewed him and that’s what he said.
rotom223 I know he designed it. Would have thought Ibanez would patent the design. Obviously, we don't know the details of the conversations he hopefully had with Ibanez before starting this company, but still feels like a slap in the face to Ibanez.
In a nut shell... except that, this guitar body shape, etc. was conceived by tosin.. he wanted to release more then one signature version of it, and couldnt do that being with another company.. or any company for that matter.. it sounds like he wants a whole, guitar line.. not just 1 signature made by ibanez.. so yeah, he went and is making his own company.. Abasi Guitars.. and this is supposed to be the first body shape their putting out.. i think in all variances.. 6/7/8 strings, possibly a 9 i think i heard somwhere in a namm interview.. or something.. then he says he also wants to make other types of guitars, with other body shapes as well.. will most likely all be conceived by tosin.
So... i wish tosin well on his brand.. and i wish i could afford one.. but i have a feeling they may be kind of expensive.. especially if they all come equipped with his specs, to the tee..
+rotom223 I don’t care what he said. He also says in the thoman video ibanez made him multiple prototypes tweaking what he wanted and admits they didn’t have to design shit cause it was done. Fucking shitty
jbrosupra yeah, seemed like Ibanez bent over backwards to accommodate Tosin, and he just takes the finished design to a new company.
Hell yeah! 🔥
awesome
is that a floyd without locking nut
What's the song he's playing around the 2:40 mark?
Intervals - Touch and Go
aaron's playing is so rad haha
What is the name of the song they played here @ 2:16 anyone knows?
Maybe touch and go
Who knows the music what he play in 0:34 ?
I believe thats "i'm Awake" by his band intervals.
"The Shape of Colour" as a whole is so sick
and the 0:15 ? Hahaa
What song is he playing at :35 ? Those harmonics!
Dashall Vazquez intervals - I’m awake. Great tune off the shape of color (great album), the way forward was also a great album, highly recommended
I wonder if the one dude is Tosin.
Pick ups are crazy, i repeat pick ups are crazy
Aaron sized up his gauges? 🤔
who is playing bass?!
Mike Morgenroth Jacob Umansky. Touring bassist for him and nick Johnston, also bassist and composer of Painted in Exile
good point
Deaf guy
song at 0:33?
I'm Awake by Intervals
should have credited the bass player too, though he didn't get much screen time.
What's he riffing on at 0:33, is that part of a full song?
Found it for anyone else:
I'm Awake - Intervals
ruclips.net/video/OHvMYUR8SuE/видео.html
You’re actually a life saver LOL
Just gotta find the tuning now dam it

anyone know what song he was playing at around 0:35?
I’m Awake by his band Intervals
what hat is he wearing??
Wish Aaron would go back to 7 string Ab djent stuff , his last two albums are very similar
what's the song he plays at 00:37 ?
I'm Awake
+Lucas LeCompte thanks! :)
that pickups are the fishman modern?
They are the fishman signature tosin pickups
What pickups were in that guitar? Fishman?
Tosin signature fishmans
intervals!
Is it just me or does anyone else have the ideology that Misha Mansoor is overhyped and Tosin is the real tone god?
Too Many Strings no. Tosin is the better player, but sound and tone they are equal. But tone is subjective anyway... God? Quit with the exageration...
who gives a fuck they are both awesome.
exageration? nah on point
Misha Mansoor is a really good metal guitarist. Tosin Abasi is a musical wunderkind.
Who cares? They're both very hyped, and both have very good, distinct qualities.
Woow que sonido =)
HOW PLAY BASS ? AMAZING!!
Do you know if he was using voice one or voice two?
Voice 1
TY!
dl 7 Sorry buddy but are those Fishman PUs the Tosin Abasi signature? Is there a big difference between the TA one and the Modern set?
Tosins are way better than moderns. Tosins have single coil modes and are smoother in the mid range
Lucas LeCompte Oh damn I thought the modern ones could split too?
Nice to see a floyd on that guitar. Or floyd copy or whatever.
It's an original Floyd Rose I think, the non fine tuners one like Guthrie Govan uses
Thing is, does this one float like Guthrie's? I've always been a fan of single-locking floating trems a la Petrucci/Govan.
I also saw a similar concept in the new Ibanez AZ models and I immediately fell in love with them.
It's a non-fine tuner Floyd Rose model like Guthrie's, yes.
If this was Aaron's audition for best guitarist of all time he would have my vote.
whats the song at 0:45 ?
Listen to his shape of colours album.. youll find it there
What's the song at 2.20
"Touch and Go"
By Intervals
what does he say in 01:41
Side dots
That pop metal
Is he playing an actual song or is he just jamming?
@:33 he is playing I'm awake(i think) and @2:15 he's playing touch and go, both from his band Intervals
@@maiqtheliar9432 Thanks dude, It's my first time seeing/listening to Interval on the internet and I had to scroll deep down to know what songs he was playing
song 0:34??
Im Awake
I want that nike hat
I wish it had a little more high end. :/
What amp is that in the background?
Dan Davidson Friedman
Dojo Dodo nope
Dan Davidson yeah realized that, a day after I wrote this comment xD
How is that guy not a basket case of nervousness? I know I would be.
Cause its Aaron Marshall, and he is a pretty big deal lol, look up intervals
because he is just plopping out the same nonsense as always.
^A very generic song, and that's pretty much it.
Was the bass supposed to be playing with the guitar? Not even in the same key.
They are playing together, but the bass sounds a little out of tune.
Out of tune = not in the same key, the timing is way off also. This is not how I play together. He is doing more harm than good and should have known that unless the is tone deaf.
I didn't say those two things were synonymous. And the bass is playing syncopated rhythms that would fit in the context of the drums if they were present.
No drums no fit. Out of time out of tune. It's bad. Bass is supposed to sound good and a pro will play a different part when no drums are present. Bad is bad.
AMAZING! But the bass was out of tune
Not by much. Sounds mostly in tune to me
Yea sounds in tune, he's just hitting a couple wrong notes in his improvising
Yeah, you can hear when they're playing Touch and Go together
The first few notes in Touch and Go around 2:18 are very much out.
Yeah, that one string especially, very sharp. But it' great to see these guys playin.
They could have tuned that bass lols. Aaron sounds insane as usual.
Those pickup rings better not make it to their final product. Because if i'm expected to pay around $2000 (that's my guess for the six string price) for a guitar i want direct mounts, especially for a guitar designed to have a modern, progressive look to it. And i understand people may not dislike pickup rings as much as i do, but i also know a lot of people who would have the same grievances as me. They sound pretty good though, but i'm curious if there will be passive PU models in the future, because that's another problem i have is they seem to only come with Fishman's, which are good pickups and i'd like to own a set at some point, but i prefer passives. Anyways though, i do still like these guitars overall, and i'd be getting an 8 string if i bought one anyways so at least there are none on those models. I just am cringing at the price due to the small shop luthier who is building these.
Fishman just came out with a passive mount for the Keith Merrow pickups. FIshman is also an odd company because they dont inform their employees on much of anything and their customer service is horrible. I THINK they are trying to come out with passive mounts for their pickups, but who knows with them. I love fishman's pickups but dont really like how they run their company.
Lucas LeCompte as far as i know, they only have passive voicings on their pickup, which sounds okay, but they sound like an active trying to be a passive and i personally don't like the sound too much. It would be great if they had a complete passive series though. And that's interesting that they run their company so terrible, they've been making waves in the community recently so they might falter out due to how they operate things, which would suck because they make a good product.
I feel you there.. i would love to try some fishman fluences myself.. didnt know they dont have a passive set yet.. would be nice if they did, for a progressive metal style/tone... with the slashed covers you normally see..
The 6 string is available with or without rings. We used rings to match the visual of the 7 and 8 more closely, which have soapbars. But we are happy to do direct mount HB’s on the 6.
FalboDesigns ahh, i see that does make sense actually, and i am compleyely aware some people either like them or don't care so my comment was definitely opionated. But anyways thabk you for the reply and clearing up that misunderstanding, i wasn't expecting a reply from the actual luthier! Your work is good man and these guitars are great too, i can just be a little critical when it comes to spendy guitars
O cara foi testar a guitarra e Deu um show kkkkkkk🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The whammy bar is one thing! But harmonics... You can't fuck with vibration
say "crazy" one more time I DARE YOU I DOUBLE DARE YOU
DraZ the WiZ Crazy. That was just crazy, man. Isn't that crazy?
The bass took over this recording :(
I wonder if Ibanez will sue over the body design. Its pretty much the exact Ibanez that he had last year.
Tosin actually designed the guitar himself, Ibanez just prototyped it for him.
Why the guy with the glasses blocked my view? tell him to go away .
So hard to stand out and have your own voice with guitar, awesome guitar tho,
lol at chris
