hey man i commented on your video months ago talking about all the reasons it was a bad base, and i just want to apologize and say you were right. this base is amazing for generating cloth and food for infinite bows. bows aren't amazing but its so nice to have expendable weapons when the area you live in is a warzone. i do things slightly differently, but the core idea of two planters in a square is so overpowered. sorry for denigrating you before. you are a genius
Cloth is used for a LOT more, other than bows SO many times you hear people " We're out of cloth, we need to go recycle ", and sometimes it's harsh, or you need more components, or you don't make it xD
Good quality camerawork, showing each step of the build intelligently, and including the rustrician gifs of your circuit for a fews seconds for people to capture. Nicely done.
Love the timers to prevent overwatering. I’d consider replacing the large battery with 1-2 small ones since they can be placed practically anywhere. Would make the venting machine easier to place and save on space. Especially since the small batteries got a buff.
You can attach a siren light to the front of the shelf to reach the planter at the top, just place it right in the middle of the shelf facing you. No need for the frame.
Possibly? I've not thought to try that on building blocks but I've had water catchers directly connected to barrels on the ground and the water goes to the barrel without pump. I more so put it inside so nobody breaks it
I liked the video it the guide and base were simple and understandable, but what I don't get is; how do you actually get to the plants once you place the half wall floor? I am new to rust and so far I've always manually picked each plant, and cannot get to them with such a close space
both planters don't get watered when throwing. only the top one does. Did something change in any update? Also the second sprinkler never works with passthrough. Tried making each of them first, also tried different heights for pump. nothing is working, only one sprinkler works at a time

It seems a lot to have two solar panels especially since the tweaks FP made to electrical. It also seems like a lot of water for such a small farm... Hi - Not sure what I'm doing wrong -- I've set it up exactly the same way you've explained in the video for the automated sprinkler system. These are the steps I follow -- Timers are set to 40s and 25s respectively. I then activate the 40s timer as well as activate the switch. The water pump fires up for 1 loop and then turns off completely. Not sure if its my setup or the way I'm activating the circuit. Any insight you can provide would be appreciated, keep up the good work!
NVM -- went back and re-watched the video For those wondering, After setting up the entire circuit -- turn the switch off -- set the respective 40s and 25s timers -- UNPLUG & RE-PLUG THE POWER TO BOTH TIMERS (I'm not entirely sure but I believe this step is required to reset the timers and doesn't work otherwise) - Turn on the switch. The circuit should now loop over and over
What is the reason to put the vending machine there ? And how can we access to the second 2nd floor layer of the plant because the ceiling is too low.Sorry im a new player.
Seems like a whole lot of work for 2 planter boxes. I'd rather build a larger farm at this point. With 1 light and 1 sprinkler you can water up to 4 planter boxes so you may as well do that many.
this is a good idea. each seed slots can give 5 berries per harvest (about one hour per harvest). with two planters, that means you get 90 berries per hour, which is enough for about 3 pure teas per two hours. of course this base is missing all kinds of things: (1) the vending machine should be behind metal window bars and an embrasure to defend it from a jackhammer raid. (2) the base needs honeycomb (3) the base needs storage one loot room just for clones and planting harvests and one loot room for everyday needs (4) water catchers are easy to destroy with salvaged swords (4) the base is missing workbenches and furnaces (5) the base needs mixing tables (6) there are no bunkers, no drop box loot rooms (7) no auto turrets (8) no peekdowns. the concept is very nice. just add a little bit of room to your base to get teas and food. but it is a lot of effort for something easy to raid
The north/south sun light doesn’t exist anymore. Now, the sun migrates over the wipe but follows an east/west path. You should have two east and two west. If on a long wipe server you will need to move them to get maximum sun.
if you mean this watch?v=u3NPGxtT2sY, then its still better to make your solar panels face north. everyone used to make solar panels face the center of the map before this change.

putting root combiners on your roof is not wise.
They're very easy to break. Easy to cut off the power supply and drain the battery.
