@@valpix7007 There are so many great college venues and I love Guttersons arched roof but the design hinders seat capacity. I would love a new arena with a arched roof but more seating.
Vermont has plans to build a from scratch new arena. Fights have been over location and final funds. Definitely the most worthy of a new venue. NCAA tournament regulars
Tsongas Center is mainly the home of the UMass-Lowell hockey team, who themselves moved from a older ice rink several miles away in North Billerica (Tully Forum). I saw quite a few UML hockey games at the old Tully Forum but moved to Pennsylvania a few years before Tsongas opened. BTW, maybe a look at the US D1 college hockey arenas should be in the works. There are quite some unique facilities among the smaller colleges who compete at the D1 level.
@@joshuabrown5123 Last time I checked, it has been delayed. I believe the money they set aside for construction got used by the university for pandemic related emergency items. I was last on campus in May '22 and the construction site has been cleared, just no development lol.
Finally I get to see my college in one of your videos. Usually your videos are just random places that I’ve never been to but this video finally has a place I’ve been to quite a few times. Even though I only attended one semester it’s the only college I’ve attended so I still call it my college.
SEFCU Arena is currently undergoing a full rebuild and remodel. Will be featuring new club seats, club areas, new seating, new video boards and several other enhancements. When it reopens next season it will be pretty much a brand new venue.
The Lowell Devils moved to Albany to be the Albany Devils, then later moved to Binghamton to be the Binghamton Devils. Currently they are known as the Utica Comets
Before it was the America East, it was the Yankee Conference, three of those teams went on such as Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island while Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine stayed behind.
Well. I did not expect this today. UVM class of '19 so a lot of good memories in Patrick, even if it's a dump, it's *our* dump. At least until Tarrant is finished. Go Cats!
@@CreightonRabs occasionally their old arena was really bad so it was more common to do Prudential center games but their new arena is really nice. I think it's only against big opponents now
Vermont is consistently one of the best, if not the best, men's teams in the conference and they play in an auxiliary storage hanger.
Same with Hockey it’s not the most appealing
They were supposed to get a new arena but that got put on hold cause of the pandemic + rising costs.
@@danielflynn8530 okay i'll give you Patrick but I will not tolerate this Gutterson slander.

Vermont, Bryant, and Maine are building new arenas on campus over the next few years.

I lived next to Patrick Gym last year. It's a bit small and dated, but still nice.
SEFCU (short for State Employees Federal Credit Union for those that live outside of Upstate N.Y.) is pronounced Sef-cue.

Right my ears burned with that mispronunciation
My bad.
Sorry about your ears. Calamine lotion tends to help with pronunciation burns.

You mispronounced Lowell, it is pronounced low-uhl
NEC
I'm surprised NJIT arena only holds 3,000 it looks way bigger. Gorgeous arena nonetheless I pass it on my way to work almost everyday
