  • This video introduces the IESE Institute for Sustainability Leadership, a partnership between IESE Business School and eight companies: Allianz, Barceló, Gestamp, Schneider Electric, Agbar, Caixabank, Celsa Group, and Mango.
The inaugural meeting took place on October 8, in the IESE Barcelona Campus. Fabrizio Ferraro, Academic Director of the Institute, announced to the audience that the term sustainability leadership refers to the fact that its founding members and partners believe that sustainability should not be treated as business as usual. Sometimes, he added, it is perceived as such when considered as one aspect of compliance, which is not enough in the current circumstances.
Fernanda Accorsi, Executive Director of the Institute, outlines in the video that the idea behind the Institute is to be a cutting-edge ecosystem. A space where business leaders, scholars, finance, and policy-makers can gather together, she added, creating opportunities and learning from each other.
Franz Heukamp, Dean at IESE, pointed out that actual change, the change that citizens can observe in their day-to-day lives, is driven by businesses. In his opinion, when considering such an important topic as sustainability, society must see how companies can drive that change.
Also in the video, in order of appearance:
    Veit Stutz, CEO, Allianz Spain
Josu Ugarte, President, Schneider Electric Iberia
    Clara Navarro, CEO & Co-Founder, Ship2B Foundation
