  • The 49 days between the Festival of Passover and the Festival of Shavuot are days of great spiritual potential that challenge us to examine our character, and work on refining our character traits and attributes. The Torah commands us to count each of these days and weeks, totaling seven complete weeks: "And you shall count for yourselves, from the morrow of the rest day, from the day when you bring the Omer of the waving -- seven weeks, they shall be complete." Rabbi Richman explains that we are not only counting, but telling the story of our lives. This video provides background and rich spiritual insight into the special spiritual power and significance of this unique commandment, the counting of the Omer, and the very special promise of this time of year.

Thanks for the clarification on why barley was used as the Omer korbanot. I already knew barley was considered the lowest form of grain (despite loving mushroom barley soup), but I could only theorize on why Hashem would insist on animal feed.

Baruck Hashem. Thank you Rabbi for your awesome teaching. Being a non-jew, I should open up my heart in the most deepest way to receive the knowledge that I never know, I mean,’receive’ means my free choice internalizes it to be my faith to deserve to receive the great light that Hashem shines upon me, the light of the freedom, the light of the redemption.

Thank you for your empowering guidance from the start...counting the Omer is an uplifting and revealing experience. I recognize where I still have remainders of a slave mentality and understand slowly that my task is to exercise my will in choice: maintain the slave mentality, disentangle myself from it and also ask Hashem for help. I am becoming aware, I am disentangling myself but today I will ask Hashem for help.
With Love and Prayers to you, your family and fans

    Hello Rabbi Chaim Richman!
Chag Pesach Sameach! I was happy to see you as I looked for you and found a stranger on the TI. You are so thorough and your voice is soothing. I love your studies and the substitute just would not do. Thank you for your faithful service, now that I have found you, I will delight in your teachings. The spirits of infirmity come out of our bodies now in the name of Yeshua! I speak healing from the top of your head to the soles of your feet. By the stripes of Yeshua you are healed.

If I'm not counting the days then at least (from this day onwards) I'm eagerly awaiting the (historical) day that HaSjem gave His torah to Mosje and his people and effectively (after a long time), to me (a non-Jew) as well. Baroech hasjem, asjer bachar mikol ha-amim we-natan lanoe et toratoo. (Dutch goj writing so excuse the transliteration..)
