- This video blog series reviews the 3 types of structural steel; Angle, Beam and Channel. In part two, we take a closer look at Beams. Visit our website: www.metalsupermarkets.com/
When refering to metal Fillet is not a French word. A fillet or round connects two objects with a tangent arc in 2D, or creates a rounded transition between the adjacent faces of a 3D solid. An inside corner is called a fillet and an outside corner is called a round; " Fill it" not "filay" that is a cooking term
Very useful! Thanks
I-Beams & Structural H-Beams are about the Flanges & Web-thickness. Thanks for the "RUclips-video" as a training aid with the clients I serve within the field.

in Aus your beam would be called 200uc/46
So is the pounds per foot the load ability or the actual weight of the beam per foot?
W 8 x 10 = Is 8" deep and 10 LBs per foot long
So if you have a W8x10 @ 15-FT long it will weight in at 150LBs
@@Dav2KinkA 6 foot chunk would probably be 200 lbs so I don't think that math is correct.
thanks alot❤
Fill-A is used in cookery. FILL-et is used in construction. :-)
A channel about channels.
nice
I have hauled 64 feet of these 💪🏾
Ok so l didn’t know it was different for post use .
I need the I beam sizes
Wish I knew this before sounding like a fool at the local metal place. Don’t ever just ask for an I-beam.
Ok, what did you need to specify?
@@MadLadsAnonymous I wanted an I-beam that was 3-4 inches wide by 4-6 inches tall (depending on price), and then 18 feet long. The guy at Metal Mart pulled out his catalog and because I was so ambiguous on the dimensions, he had to drill into the options. I also told him I preferred am I-beam over an h-beam because I figured I-beams were rolled and h-beams were fabricated. He told me I was wrong, but never explained how (now I understand that the names are interchangeable and that both are fabricated these days). All I wanted was a strong I-beam for a hoist in my garage.
@@davidswanson5669Good lesson!
Our main beam looks to be three 2x8 boards laminated together, so about 4.5" x 8". I'm thinking whichever I Beam is listed here at 21 lbs/ft would be the right replacement for the main wooden beam. At that point, I need to figure how to support it. Probably with columns.
Beam = $10
iBeam = $1000
the beam will hold fast, the iBeam will definitely bend.
Beams now a days are so expensive that's because it's only metal.. I sometimes think of buying them made out of gold they would probably be cheaper..😂🤣🙄
Firstime Voter have you notice that gold is also metal !?
Jason, if I can offer you any help, talk to me who is watching your presentation and stop reading your script - does this help?
filleh ????? Its a filleT or radius. Thats fillet with a T. In the UK . You mean the rest of the entire planet.
We'll a little hint...they are not made from trees, or mud, or ice cream or coke bottles itd that magic stuff that is heavy and goes gong when you hit it with a hammer wow you learned something but forgot everything else. Good job.
(It's fillet... not filet. It's pronounced"fill it" they are different words)
.
Fillay! Ha ha
Sounds like sex ed , but 🚫
make some plans for i beam small homes . look on modern steel beam homes on google . even if you just sell a like of parts and where to buy them for say a two bedroom 2 bath open plan . steel is the best . its a thing that we dont really need to mine and can be used over and over . a tree huggers best option. just sell the frames . and because of the corp price gouging going on with so called supply side economics the rebrand for price fixing you would sell so much .
