- A special upload this time, here are the original automated announcements recorded from a R143 L train circa 2001 - 2002. I put some effort into levling out and reducing the distortion on some of the audio clips and making one uniform audio file, let me know how i did.
From 8 Avenue in Mahattan to Canarsie - Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn via 14 Street Local.
Some notable differences from today's (2019) version:
All transfers done by Charlie Pellet , a different "Next stop" and "this is" announcement, the "Next and last stop is" announcement hasnt been added, some defunct routes are announced and the lack of any Select Bus service routes.

The 2 was once like that. (Incidentally, Brooklyn College was announced *after* Flatbush Avenue back then. Upon updating the announcements, the order was reversed to what it is today.)

When the L train say “The Next Stop is” it sound like when the J M & Z say “ The Next and Last Stop is “ but without saying “ And Last”
To me, it sounds like the g train "The Next Stop is"

Original Announcements: 2001-2005
Current Announcements: 2005-present
These announcements were changed since 2005, because that’s the year they started testing the R160s and they once signed it up as a L train as a preview, so they updated it. When the R143s ran on the M as a shuttle back in 2005, they used the current announcements.
When the transfer announcement says “This is,” it sounds like the one used on the (B), (D), (N), (Q) & (R) today. Very interesting

The “Next Stop is” Announcement sounds like when a J L M or Z say The Next and Last Stop is Announcement.
Because they all use R143 if they have it before R160 or R179 then it says like that
I believe they all got the same “The Next Stop is” announcements from being first programs to ever be recorded on a NTT B division

It’s weird hearing Charlie announce transfers on anything at isn’t IRT.
The “the next stop is” creeps me out tbh it sounds so weird then the present day “the next stop is”
Those announcements have Charlie doing the transfers like the IRT lines (1,2,3,4,5,6,7)
So strange. Really like that Charlie doesn't do the transfers for this line anymore.

They should have said the next and last stop is Canarsie Rockaway Pkwy instead of just the next stop is canarsie
It was 2001 so it wasn't updated yet like R142 in 2000 the 2 and 5 train had different announcements in 2003

The "This is" announcement sounds like the ones found on (B), (D), and BMT Broadway Line trains.
They need to put back that old B15 announcement at New Lots Avenue. It’s a free transfer not a connection.
No. You can’t have free subway to bus transfers, like transferring from one subway line to another in the same station. It doesn’t work that way. You have to pay another fare to make the “connection”.
@@averyrizzolo9082 then why do all the other routes have “transfers” instead of “connections”? Obviously because it does work that way and always has. The B15 announcement is outdated on the L line. Even the IRT lines have it as a transfer. Care to try again?

No because it has the v train as a transfer and it started service december 17, 2001 and the twin towers fell on september 11, 2001
The r143 started testing on december 4th, 2001 and went in service on february 12th, 2002

BRUH COME ON WHY YOU. There was a 9 train In the Broadway/7 ave Line. It was running local and 9 trains was running between South Ferry to 242 Street via the 1 Line but they only use R62 and R62 but In 2005 9 train was discontinued due to a budget cut. 9 trains was running from 2001- 2005
