    There aren’t any other plugin makers I know of that are so transparent they are showing how their plugins look in Plugin Dr.

    Looks great! I use a lot of your plugins, great stuff. Some would argue that when you're clipping just the top couple of dB's of transients, the aliassing would be almost impossible to hear, still...nice to have the option of massive oversampling :) cheers

    • @HoRNetWeb
      @HoRNetWeb  3 месяца назад

      Yes I agree but since in modern production clipping is also used on busses or even some single instrument aliasing may add up.

    This clipper is really the baddest (Michael Jackson BAD!!!) clipper I have in my collection (and I have many!!)!! The tone shaping capabilities are really, really good!! It's just a clipper but I was really impressed by the functionality and simplicity of the plugin!!! Definitely moves to the front of the pack!!! Great job sir, thank you for making so many great mixing tools!!!!

    I use VHS on every session. I absolutely love Hornet plugins. I have a plugin requests. Can you make a plugin that allows you to delta solo a chain of other plugins? I am picturing a plugin that has an instance before the chain an one after and the one before ports the before signal to the after and then flip its phase so it creates a delta solo signal with any plugins in a DAW like Logic which does not have this ability built in on a single channel. I use delta soloing a lot or bus processing and sidechain ducking.

    • @phadrus
      @phadrus 5 месяцев назад

      Great idea. Hornet CLMS already lets you maintain loudness for AB comparisons of an FX chain so adding the delta to that would be brilliant.

    • @HoRNetWeb

      @@phadrus yep it's pretty easy if you can handle the latency that may be included by plugins in the chain

    So I saw recently another Clipper that’s has been getting quite a lot of attention recently, the Orange Clip, resembling the soft clip from FL Studio. Would Planer be a good competitor to Orange clip?

    • @HoRNetWeb
      @HoRNetWeb  4 месяца назад +1

      Well Planer offers a lot of flexibility and honestly I never tried Orange Clip so I cannot comment on that. We have a demo, if you want you can try it out and compare for yourself!

    Hi Saverio,
    I bought Planer last week when it was released.
    A couple of questions if I may:
    Q1: How should the user interpret the dB reading in the Knee section? I assume the Transfer function works on a certain ratio.
    Q2: Reading of the gain reduction is more of a guess due to the scale being small. Would be possible to display the momentary and max values?

    • @HoRNetWeb
      @HoRNetWeb  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi the dBs in the knee reading are the width of the transition area so if the ceiling is 0dB and the knee is 6DB it means that the transition area starts at -6dB. Regarding the gain reduction, the scale goeds from 0 to -12 and it's one light a dB

    • @oviqru

      @@HoRNetWeb
      Thanks for the prompt reply.
      How many dBs of gain reduction should we expect in your example (ceiling = 0dB, knee = 6dB)?
      What I am trying to get to is: if the user targets a specific number of dB reduction (i.e. 3dB) from the Peak, how should dial the knee in order to achieve it?
      Also, what are the markers on the transfer scale (0 to 1 in increments of 0.2) related to?

    • @HoRNetWeb
      @HoRNetWeb  4 месяца назад

      @@oviqru Hi, I usually never cut more than 3dBs in mastering situations (but it depends on the track) usually I start with a 6dB soft knee and if I feel I'm loosing too much transient I reduce the one until I get the sound I like (sometimes you simply have to go hard clipping (like in some electric genres where the drum hits are very heavy). regarding the scale, in digital audio a signal goes from -1 to +1 (simple numbers) so those numbers simply represent that

    • @esahm373
      @esahm373 4 месяца назад

      @@HoRNetWeb Yes, you can try it yourself. Make a 44.1k session. Use a high frequency test signal (eg a sine set around the 9000hz area). Clip it to a degree where without OS you would have obvious aliasing, but with OS the aliasing would almost completely disappear. Now set the plugin to Auto OS (OS when rendering / offline). Export the signal to an audio file. Import into a new session and check whether the Auto OS has been applied or ehether the aliasing is still fully there.
      Someone told me that Ableton doesn't recognise the offline status of VST3 plugins, hence it can not apply offline OS settings, even if you activate them in the plugin.

      @@esahm373 our auto oversampling algorithm is based around the sample rate reported by the host so i think i have to check wether Live reports a different sample rate while exporting or something else. have you checked if the VST2 behaves the same?

      Hi could you please open a support ticket to try to help us identifying the issue? we don't seem to be able to replicate it (please let us know your same rate, buffer size and the oversampling option that causes the issue)

  • @Frontier2000AnoDomin

    I haven´t tried it yet, but we are running older systems. No options between x16 and no oversampling?

    • @HoRNetWeb
      @HoRNetWeb  3 месяца назад

      The auto option contemplates also value in between but it works accordingly to sample rate, it requires a minimum of 1536000Hz of bandwidth so it computes oversampling accordingly.
