Surprised the stands were so empty for a game against a good Reds team. I know LA traffic since I lived there but you would have thought it would have filled up faster than it did.
Cosell seems more "off" than usual in this broadcast. Maybe he skipped his medication or maybe he had a few drinks at lunchtime that day, but he seems especially verbose and crotchety. He definitely gives off the vibe of someone who doesn't give a F anymore. I wonder what he says about Michaels and Palmer in his infamous book.
Thanks very much for this! Really appreciated!
Thanks for the memories. I hope you post more of these old Baseball games.
Monday Night Baseball with Al Michaels.. classic. I used to fall asleep listening to him around the 3rd or 4th quarter on Monday Night Football.
Tomorrow for 1 or 2 innings he going to be on Sunday night baseball on ABC
ABC'S INTRO MADE UT FEEL LIKE YOU WERE ABOUT TO WATCH SOMETHING IMPORTANT!

The Dodgers and Reds would finish 1st and 2nd respectively in the NL west division after an epic collapse by the Padres the second half of the season.
