    Really helpful, thanks! I just used this to update my app with a tiny bug fix and it went through pretty much instantly. I forgot to update the version numbers, but that doesn't seem to have mattered.

    What if I don't wanna use a appstore? I mean, I created an app and I passed just to my friends but I wan to update the app over the air ?

      @@raihan7422 I'm trying to work with expo branches because I was on a different branch at the moment of updating than when I created the app. I will keep working on it and if it works I will share the solution to this problem.

    One point I am confuse about is when i am on development phase should I need to use expo-updates or eas updates?

    can I update version on app.json with eas update ?

      Yes, I think you can. But when users first download your app, it won't be the new version, it will be whatever build you submitted. The user has to kill the app one or two times before the new version shows for eas update.
      If I'm remembering correctly.

    Will this work if you upload your app to expo dev? I uploaded my app to expo dev and followed your steps, it didn't work in IOS

    I don't know for what reason but sometimes when easUpdate the PROD, the build on store switches from the PROD to PREVIEW or to LOCAL version ....... any idea?

    Are you sure you update the expo version number or the version number to android and the one to iOS?

      If you are genereting the apk through of Expo, then yes.
