This is the clearest recording I've heard. I'm using this as a reference for competition - that means you have one of the best recordings
I'm also using this as a reference for competition!
@@Clarisa-j7w it’s a great competition winning recording
I agree totaly
1. Allegro 0:00
2. Adagio 4:00
3. Minuetto 8:42
4. Prestissimo 12:12
Perfect interpretation! Pure Beethoven. As I would play it. I’m still learning this one. You inspire me to continue with it. Well done indeed! Bravo!
13:42 what amazing left hand!
best tempo ever!! for the whole sonata :)
Wow😂! So beautiful❤! 20 out of 10 points!✅
you play sooooo welllll!!!!!
That Finale was fiery! Plus you kept the intensity during the development, while most of the performers play this part with lot of calm and tranquility, that was quite unexcepted (and good).
Théophile you mean unexpected?
Muito clara interpretação. Gostei muito.
That was clean as hell
Its too strange the fact that Time really flies a lot, its been around 6 months since i graduated from Ethiopia, Jimma University Music School and Beethoven's Piano Sonata Op.2 no.1 First MVT'/Allegro was my final jury exam at that time i watched this video like a 100x and can't help but astonished by your way of playing and techniques and i said to my self woahh this dude is freaking cool😃...you know what i even watched the greatest D.Barenboim's version but still this one rocks. So i just want tell you that you're a wonderful and charismatic pianist.
Last but not least praise to God i successfully performed my jury and now i am officially a Music Teacher in there🙏
First of all congratulations on your degree! Second, thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it. Third, indeed all the glory is to God. Good luck in everything! 🙌🏻👍🏻
@@AndreiAndreev :-) it means a lot Virtuoso....you become my idol now next to Alexander Malofeev💜, thank you so much My friend🙏
I WATCHED THIS OVER 40 TIMES ITS BEAUTIFUL
It’s not this is trash playing
Thank you for your honest work and bring out the most almost detail and expression on this sonata! Bravo!! Esther
Thank you! :)
very beautiful and musical Andrei!! Congrats!!!!!
Thanks 🙏🏼
Beautiful clarity. You have found a balanced compromise between personal interpretation, respect for the "classical" sound and rigour to convey the architectural complexity of the original score.
How is your English so good? Good saying or wut ever.
Magnificient interpretation ! Precisely exécutate, absolutely incredible... Don't stop to play this sonata, you have achieve à great job six years ago ! Thank you Andreev !
I am currently Learning the first movement. After I have seen your playing I cried. Such a beautiful technique!
And your interpretation... so perfect. The clarity of the notes is also beautiful.
You now have a big fan ♡
Thank you :)
@@AndreiAndreev 3:33 pls how can you keep the left hand sound even and not muddy and can emphasize that bottom pinky note
3:36 HOW CAN YOU PLAY IT SO LOUD ON THE LEFT HAND? when i tried to do it my pinky always miss the black notes because of arm movement
Great performance! Congratulations! 👏👏👏🎶🎹✨
Beautiful ! Studying the first movement currently
👍🏻🙌🏻
An excellent performance! Love your accents, phrasing, tempi - everything is just as it should be. A beautiful interpretation of this earliest of gems by Beethoven. Thank you.
Piano lessons, Boulder thank you! :)
You play excellent! Thank you!
About to tackle the first movement and I love the way you play this. Definitely will be using this for reference :)
Thanks ;)
@@AndreiAndreev what grade is the first movement?
The best interpretation
I love your Beethoven❤!
+Música y Arte thank you! :)
You Sir, now have a devout subscriber. Your performance is sensible. No grandiose BS. Just music with great camera angles. Honestly I think this is one of the few interpretations I've come across that's filled with simplicity and common sense that I find lost in all that pointless fluff that other contemporary pianists employ. Trust me the eye roll is real! Thank you for music. May I have your permission to use your video as reference only should I need it at anytime?
Usha Aron, thank you! :) sure :)
I agree with you, but I don’t think you should criticize contemporary pianists’ styles. It’s ok to not understand or not like their styles, but you shouldn’t say that it’s pointless.
I agree
With ua
A FANTASTIC performance, definitely will use this video as Ref. for my upcoming piano exam, you have a very unique understanding of this piece of music, and btw, gonna say this is a professional performance to me. Thanks for this performance.
i love your interpretation!!!
Excellent! Enjoyed immensely.
💐A very enjoyable performance: It's always wonderful to appreciatively listen, as the next generation of interpreters perform through fresh eyes and ears - offering-up for us a magical new insight into the timelessness of Beethoven!s music. 🇦🇺
Well Done!!! I'm playing the first movement for an exam at the end of this year. I don't know about you, but I always find that middle part at 2:29 so hard :o
AussieGamer Style thanks! Yes, it's hard! :)
AussieGamer Style did you pass the exam
i hab a bit trouble with it too... but its so fun to play in the end
Yeah, that's one of the hardest parts in the first movement
I'm playing first movement for my grade 8 too
Thank god. I listened to another recording of this piece and it was impossibly fast 😭
That prestissimo is still pretty impossibly fast! 😺
i think ik which recording i also listened to it it's wayyy too fast 😭
@@ducks5377what recording?
OMG I REMEMBER THIS WHEN I WAS A KID I USED TO HEAR THIS ALL DAY
Oh ~~very good wonderful♡♡
I like them☆☆

Beautiful
Well done!
fantastic,thanks
Your playing is just beautiful. Clear as hell, beautiful touch and exquisite interpertation. Amazing tehnique. I guess this piece is a bit too easy for you.(of course, only in tehnical aspects beacuse every piece has its interpertation challenges.
You forgot the last parentheses for the last sentence in your writing. Also you have good english.
Bravo , love it !
Prestissimo 12:12 is the reason I wanted to learn how to play the piano. 12:47-13:05 in particular.
I like this tempo,I like this interpretation
Complimenti! Splendida esecuzione!
Beautiful performance
Con esa sensibilidad y sentimiento, difícil será superar tales interpretaciones. Felicidades.
No words to describe!
Play very well !
I’m playing this for a video audition(bc of corona) and I’m using this video as a recording to practice. It’s due in two days and I stupidly cut my nails WAY too short so now it HURTS to play piano, but whatever it’s not like I get into these auditions anyway😂 but anyway just wanted to say thank you for the great recording!!
Very good!
Valeu

Beautiful technique. A true Russian.
Sehr schön gespielt. Wirklich schöne Dynamik.
12:12 Prestissimo
Thanks
Sublime.
Cool
HUGE respect there! Keep it up! Awesome! 🙂
Excelente trabajo!

Can I please know your fingering for the trills I have a competition and I'm really struggling with this
Pls I am really really thankful if you can share it with me
If you slow to 25% can you see the fingering?
How did you do it ? I struggle as well. Slowing the video here I see he's dropping the first note to only play 4 instead of 5, and starting with the fourth finger
amazing.
great!!
🎉🎉😊

Serious question: How does your technique get so good? Do you just repeat the same tiny section 100 times? Or do you practice scales? Or just practice 8hours a day? What is the secret? How do I as an amateur get closer to where you are?
Practice short but smart.
Andrei Andreev how long do you practice a day?
30 min :)
@@AndreiAndreev am i a joke to you
Andrei Andreev what...
bravissimo e bello
Check out my levels of piano playlist for those of you wanting to improve. There are three on my channel from easy to hard. I designed these to help the player gradually feel more confident going into some of the harder works
This is beautiful performance. What is the grade of this piece?
Genial.
... you can tell it was dedicated to Haydn...
How can you tell?
@@clearoil1837 first of all the first 3 Beethoven Sonatas are dedicated to Haydn by Ludwig himself ..... also beside the Sonata forma the patterns of the Exposition do sounds like few Haydn sonatas .. like the the one in B Minor XVI - 32 Allegro Moderato ... all other sonatas from 4th onward they become truly Beethovenian ... in style and passion ...
@@AntonelloWAM interesting
@A.J.Cs-j18 I wish... nope just an amateur ...
i am one but dont make music i play them though
Wow! Amazing playing and the pedaling is beautiful. I’m wondering what is your sequencing for the pedal?
Just intuition;)

@@rymbenayed2347 I may play it in the year, I am slow learner I guess. this is my first Beethoven.
Hi
Hi Andrei, this is a really great performance. I know you have no reason to answer this but I’m trying so hard to learn “Allegro” and I can’t figure out how to play those fast quadruplets (or a triplet and a crotchet) at the start of the piece. I can play almost the entire piece but I don’t know how to play those four notes in such a short time, I know you have a special technique for it. If you could share the way you move your hands to play it, I would appreciate it so much.
Music Producer I don't really know how to ans this question. Probably start slowly and then go faster and faster. I mean the practicing.
Andrei Andreev Ok, keep practising it over and over. Thank you.
A solution is to play the L.H. sixteenth-triplets with the right hand instead. It’s what I did and it works pretty well
Don't rush through the triplets; take your time
+Andrej Stepanov
These are excellent performances but why are the development sections not repeated on the 1st and 4th movement (I would have only repeated the 1st movement development section myself and not the 4th movement development section)?
What da fu*
Chill quá
This is considered one of the easiest Beethoven sonatas right? My teacher suggested this but seems quite difficult for my level, though it might be easier than it looks
Yes, not among the hardest.
Why are the development sections not repeated in the first and fourth movement? I am thinking about learning this sonata and thought they needed to be repeated. Although personally I would only repeat the first movement development and not the fourth movement development
Garen Loshkajian It is a good point; Beethoven (Mozart and Haydn too) was absolutely clear about da capo (repeat) markings; they are directions, not optional suggestions.
There are far too many pianists today taking unwarranted liberties with these markings which are as important as directions regarding speed or mood or anything else; failing to play the repeats unbalances both a movement, and thus the work as a whole - it is an indefensible practice.
The thing I wonder is how do you make your fingers jump so high and still get the notes. Doesn’t it hurt?
Maxwell’s Piano doesn’t ;)
I hope you won!
almost on the same level as Perahia's which means A.
2:02
I'm have some trouble with the rhythm at the part marked con espressione. It starts with the grace note going to D and B, any tips please.
By the way great performance.
Jonathan Walsh Listen to a few performances by some of the top pianists; it’s what the top pianists do!
Hi! Great performance! I'm 14 and I'm learning the 1st movement of this Sonata. I'm preparing to play in a contest, and I was wondering when I should pedal. How do you figure that out? Thanks! =)
+Tony and Dorinda Guinn it should help you to have long fraise but not to make dirty sound.
oh I thought you are shirtless in your profile picture and I clicked on it... you're not
I'm disappointed :p
Lol same!
Me too!
Ik right
Why is the dynamic range so small?
RUclips Commenter because piano is so big 😄
sehr schöne Tempi
Lovely interpretation! Are you doing this professionally?
+ilovemypiano thank you! Yes, I am.
Andrei Andreev are u from satan?
Just wondering How long will it take me to learn this sonate for an average piano player. by average i mean level 7.
It is not hard to learn the notes. Judging from the ABRSM pieces, I think level 7 might be under-prepared for the last movement. The difficulties, as I am practicing this, are as follows: the delicate control over dynamics and fluency in the second movement is hard to achieve; the speed at which the last movement "sounds good" (meaning in my ears XD) might be hard to achieve.
Can someone Rank the Difficulty of the the fourth movement please?
It’s level 8
It's probably a 4/10
Maxwell’s Piano naah 6/10
Mister Mozart X idk :)
