Hi Beauties,
Welcome to this 'Day In The Life,' where I open up about the ups and downs of caravan life. Although I love the freedom and flexibility of living the caravan, I'm struggling a little with the practical aspects of managing the storage of items and organising personal belongings for myself, Ryan and the kids. If you have any advice for me, I would love to know!

Might be a good idea to put a sheet over your clothes. On a rail, they can get really dusty.
Would the kids be interested in learning to iron their own clothes?
We had clothes stored in a storage unit and within 2 weeks time mice had built nests in a few
Of the pockets.
I have never been able to put my hands in pockets ever since then. 😝 LOL

I’ve been gardening since I was a young girl. It’s always been a great hobby/passion for me. I could not be happy living somewhere without at least a bit of ground to dig in and create a beautiful garden. Also need some personal space about me - and a full length mirror! 😄😘

Just got home and put on your vlog; I don't know Fern I think Ryan might be a secret gypsy he really likes caravan life. LoL
I feel for you my clothes are very important part of my life; I was sad for you when you had to leave your dressing room with it's little patio.
I hear you when you say that you've got to go back to basics sometimes. Been there done that; turning 59 next month and comfort is the name of game for me now.
Good luck You, Ryan, Seth; and Nancy are in my thoughts and prayers.
I now you'll all have a great summer, traveling, beach times and visiting family.

I must admit, I got so excited too when I saw those gates & the anticipation of hearing all about it! LOL! Hope I'm wrong but I'm not entirely convinced that you are happy with your current living situation. It is entirely different for Ryan who has his work, cycling, training etc. Women make the nest and fill it with home comforts and living in such a small space is not ideal for a family of 4 and 2 dogs. Hope you can find your next home very soon. My comment is made with the very best intentions. x
Fern this vlog was such a delight better than a produced tv show, really! It was quite real, authentic and revealing every day life is good so just continue being yourselves. I laughed aloud (unusual for my very reserved personality) and my significant other rushed in to see what I found so funny. Of course, still laughing, I shared that segment where you were holding Ryan’s coffee cup and commenting on the myriad of coffee drips. So funny! Anyways, as is said improperly, your wardrobe of clothes is lovely and need to be protected. Please purchase a few inexpensive black garment bags to ensure your clothes aren’t dusty, dirtied or damaged. And even just request some clear dress bags from the dry cleaners, please please. Love ya!

I hate ironing never do it unless I really have to I wash hang the clothes in the hot cupboard tumble dry spent years and hours ironing not any more x

Women have to do all the housework and drudgery that keeps a family going…….and to me, the rewards are having a home to fuss with, to make pretty, to enjoy the relaxing pass times that make a house a home. The gardening for instance……. Ryan needs to understand these little things are necessary to our peace of mind……

Gosh Fern I'm really feeling your pain. I get you completely. You have to get another home soon otherwise you may be risking your mental health and general everyday happiness. Regarding spending your time gardening and pottering around in the garden if this makes you happy you need to be doing this. Gardening is for all ages not just older people. I started gardening as a tiny tot with my Poppa and still absolutely love it. You have to do what gives you happiness

We are in the process of moving, my family and I, not so fun after awhile. Everything is packed and you have new places to get used to or new patterns in your daily routines...gets to you after awhile. Can't wait to see how beautiful you make your new place where ever that will be.
Ryans coffee cup ha ha . I hate drips, its a thing with me . I have to wipe the drip away every sip I have, embarrasing when out . Fern, so get what you said about challenging ourselves. Some people happy to stay in the same house, place for ever. My partner and I have move countries, houses and looking to eventually retire to Spain. We love that challenge and excitement of new place, new people and what adventure we have ahead. We are older and it doesnt scare me at all. Go find your happy place and all the very best of luck to you both xx

And gardening is for all ages ... pottering outside is good for the soul ... even just growing small pots of Basil and Thyme or Mint for tea. And a pot of geraniums in the sun, near a door.

This was a delight, you made me laugh, and I don’t laugh that easily. Hang in there like everyone has said you’ll know it when the right house comes don’t rush into it. Keep reminding yourself, “ I’m on vacation”. This is what you mentioned in your blog that the summer will be like a summer vacation. Footloose and fancy free 😊Ryan is enjoying every minute of it.
I was thrilled to hear that you’re not ironing everything✋. There’s so much more fun things to do. I never iron I used to however, I learnt very fast to take them out of the dryer to hang them up or give a shake lay them flat fold them right away while they’re still warm. The only thing I do iron is rayon, and linen or linen and cotton mix and I iron those just before I wear them.

I understand about the ironing thing. I used to do the same including towels, underwear !! jeez ! Anyway , now that im older and boys are living away from home , I dont iron much. I iron so very little. Like not at all unless it’s material to so. Fabrics have changed so much. And we sleep like babies in sheets in ironed…. Basically all my life
