@@onealspence8548 agreed. It's sad when you see girls calling themselves goth, but are emo, and they're twerking to "trap" rap online. The devolution of a subculture.
Pure atmospheric & mysterious. One of the best (if not) best band ever existed ,it doesn t get better anymore Thanx Carl mcCoy & the rest of this otherworldly great band.Earth inferno!!!!
Back in Oct 2005, I randomly found the Revelations DVD at a local record store here in Peoria, IL as I had heard the FOTN name mentioned before in a Type O Negative interview back in 1996. I liked the band name, song titles, and the artwork...so I decided to buy it. I watched that DVD everyday for a year straight (you can ask my old roommates -haha). Fields of the Nephilim were the first band that made me realize that the word 'heavy' descibed a feeling...not just an aggressive style. I started to see the future and the past in thier music...my mind was never the same. This music is psychic...beyond the flesh...free from the body. (Ok, I guess you need flesh and a body to actually be able to play it -ha).
@@artemusprine Exactly man!! I have to recommend the awesome ethereal/darkwave band Lycia 'Ionia' 1991 'A Day In The Stark Corner' 1993 or 'Quiet Moments' 2014 albums (everything they release is incredible but those in particular are amazing albums). -Devon
My ALL TIME FAV song from THE FIELDS OF THE NEPHILIM It seems also my partners fav aswell. I have been to see ( SORT OF ) them due to a BLOODY SMOKE SCREEN!!! ALL the time on my own I wasn't with my partner then. But we would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to see & hear these AWESOME ICONIC rock goths together But, sadly they are not performing anywhere near my home town ( city ) & haven't done so for some years WHY NOT???? 🤔🤔🤔🤔😳😳😳. I sadly can't travel far due to my mobility & I can't get anyone to take us to the venue So, I am broken hearted 😣😥 at not being able to watch them LIVE with my partner.

I wasn't at this show, since i was only ten at the time. HOWEVER, i won the dvd, which is the next best thing. Fields was one of THE BEST LIVE BANDS EVER!!! Their live songs came out even better (and heavier) than the studio songs. Not many bands can claim that.
tell me what is reality tell me thoughts of god, do dreams fall from god, tell me what dreams may come, break free thoughts all gone... we' ve all come down!!
How many songs do they even have that you could make a case for being the best one? I'll take this over most of the better known ones most days, and I can't think of a single song of theirs I don't love.
tell me what is reality...tell me thoughts of god,do dreams fall from god, tell me what drems may come, break free thoughts all gone...we've all come down!
Live audio mixing and recording by Andy Jackson, guitar tech for David Gilmour and sound engineer for Pink Floyd since mid 80’s, he fucking nailed it. More recently played guitar in Eden House with Tony Pettitt, Paul Wright and Nod Wright
Such a shame that they disappeared/made rubbish trash metal after this. 15 years without FOTN is too long, almost like Star Wars prequels. From those of us who bought the first album the month it came out and who had to readjust to Elizium in 90 I can state confidently that none of us wanted trash metal. WTF MAN! This was perfect. Why change anything?
This is what goth sounds like. I'm just sad that no one makes it like this anymore. This whole album has such an effect on me.
No I think its for us now. Forget the modern shit. This is our epic world. Let's keep this one for us.

For me this has a gothy flavor to it but more heavy on the psychedelic space rock vibes
Elizium was just something else - took me away and brought me back but i'm always in a coma of this album ...
I just did...
Just how EPIC is this song? What an amazing performance!!!
Goose bumps all over my body. A real masterpiece. FOTN🖤
¡ The Greatest !
If this is not the best song I've ever heard, it's quite close. One of the bands that changed both my musical views and my life.
Excellent South of heaven thumbnail too 👌
Stunning recording of the best piece of music ever made by one of the most magical bands ever to roam planet earth. This is it.
So atmospheric..i just loved this band...

The first and best band to demonstrate to me that not all heavy had to be metal.

I prefer this, it has more power and layers
