I am proud of my Catas, of course, but I really liked the Armoured General (the Greeks have the worst one, btw) finally serve the Beserkers a slice of humble pie.
I think the berserkers are the only unit we've seen so far who can stop a unit of chariots on impact. It's also the only test I remember where the armoured bodyguard has outclassed the companions. I'm a little surprised the companions did so poorly. Maybe if they'd cycle charged, but charging into a bunch of already active berserkers is no joke. Ask the scythed chariots how THAT went. It does show that the overwhelming advantage berserkers have starts to fall off once they encounter something that isn't infantry.
Their roster kind of counteracts the starting position they get. Lots of settlements, but also three immediate neighbours, low infrastructure, low enough population to be a serious problem at the start on huge unit size, and you'll probably have to face the Romans sooner rather than later on VH given the Julii AI's tendency to home in on the human player if they're in the north-western part of the map.
They somehow have a falang formation and that plus cavalry makes the trick. In my campaign, Romans sent lots of war dogs. So the way was provoke them to attack cavalry and then after a short run make them go through the falang.
I thought the Chariots would obliterate the Berserkers, since Chariots are the perfect counter for unorganized formation units like the Berserkers. The only way they can win is if you dont issue an attack order, and just run the Chariots behind the Berserkers. Since when you issue an attack order, your units will pretty much park in front of the enemies, giving free hits before moving again. Not good with Berserks who has high attack points vs Chariot Units low Armor stats & large hit box.
It will always upset me everytime I see the list of results with the militia hoplites with only 2 victories. It's also not surprising to see berserkers only get 6 victories. However, they will always put up a fight making almost all hand tonhand engagements not worth it.
If the Cataphracts get that charge, they are hard to beat! They should be at full stamina! Exhausted will lose because Berserkers don't have stamina for some reason!
Damn Militia Cavalry, this was your round to win! 😓
Indeed it was :) Thanks for the comment.

Yea, that was rather impressive from the late Bodyguard :) Thanks for the comment.
Nah Egyptians have the worst late General, their stats are worse than the Greeks.
Berserkers be gangsta until I show up with 1 unit of Armenia's most unmotivated horse archers.
Yea, they have yet to learn that bearskins won't protect from arrows :) Thanks for the comment.
love the archers for clean up :D
Yea, the mopping up squad :D Thanks for the comment.
I did not expect berserkers to do that well against chariots and basic elephants, but now I know how to counter those as the germans.
Thanks for the comment. Yea, they did rather well :)
I mean Spear Warband being a phalanx unit already showed us how they can counter that.

Well summarized :) Thanks for the comment.
2 HP means they don't get one-shot by the chariots and they can fight back afterwards
I think RNG did to them. You notice the Berserkers went out of running Amok for a bit and that caused them to do less damage and get killed faster.
Awesome video!
Thank You! :)
It's real satisfying to see chariots hard countered...I cannot count the times my army has gotten shredded by Egyptian chariots in late game Rome
Thanks for the comment. Yea, they are an interesting unit. At times, the AI suicides on phalanxes and at times they can do rather well :)
Those men fear nothing (except those war elephants, apparently)
Seems to be the case :) Thanks for the comment.
With the units that German fraction has, it's much probably to conquer whole map in campaign
Thanks for the comment. Yea, they have good tools for that :)

This made me start another campaign lol
Good luck with the campaign :D Thanks for the comment.
Haha!
HAHAHAHA!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
As I said yesterday: "The Cataphract charge will be earth shattering."
Thanks for the comment. Yea, that was quite shattering :)
First round, the berserkers out charged the horses! Then flattened the chariots. I voted caraphracts though. Fun video
Indeed :) Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the comment. Yea, agreed. Militia Hoplites' performance is rather abysmal especially if compared to e.g. Spear Warband :)

Thanks for the comment. Yea, Berserker stamina is quite impressive :)
At least, most of cavalry kill some percentage of enemy. It's even.
Yea, agreed on that :) Thanks for the comment.
1:57 ayoooo wat doink?! (Oh right, you gotta put the stoners down since you can't control them anymore)
Yea, they have to be mopped up :) Thanks for the comment.
