5:04 - 20 W difference - but times how many hours ? A year has 365 x 24 h = 8.760 hours and 50% of those are daylight = 4380 hours. If we assume the advantage would exist for 25% of these hours we would talk about 1100 h x 20 W = 22000 Wh or 22 kWh And if assume that you gain 20 W for 50% of all daylight hours then it would only double the amount to 44 kWh. If you can save about 0,30€ per kWh by avoiding supply from the grid we are talking about 12€ in total per year or even less. 44 kWh is not the big gain to adjust the system every month or so. Maybe for winter and summer cause in winter the difference can be bigger when the sun at your location must be very deep and you will benefit the most from a close to vertical panel position. But I like these experiments and calculations cause they help a lot to understand the general system better and how to improve things. And of cause in general DIY trackers are king - no doubt cause it needs a lot more than just following the sun espsecially during stormy conditions when the panels have to be taken out of the wind.
