I agree, I was also pretty unsatisfied with their last few title tracks and while the albums contained some songs that I really liked, I also felt myself distancing a bit from the group due to the change in their musical direction. While I am somebody that enjoys songs with rock elements for some reason I never really liked any of TXT’s releases that incorporated them... a discography that once felt flawless to me, was starting to take a turn I didn’t really expect, so this comeback was kinda detrimental for my interest in the group, but boy did they deliver. Sugar Rush Ride is amazing, it’s my second favorite title track from them alongside Run Away, I love everything about this song. My only wish is that we had an extended final chorus because that build up is way too sexy, so I wanted them to, you know... gimmie gimmie more. LOL It feels like the TXT I know and love, it reminds me of their previous work enough for it to feel familiar but not redundant, it feels like a more mature & sophisticated take on their old concept. It’s definitely one of my favorite releases this year. I also share similar opinions on the album, it’s good, no stand out b-sides, however, the overall experience of the album is extremely enjoyable because I also like listening to TXT’s albums in full rather than their songs individually. It’s the first time I hear somebody say that actually and I thought I was the only one. Great review!
thx for your kind words ❤ i 100% agree with everything you said, especially the bit about sugar rush ride being a mature take on their older concepts, i'm super excited to see where txt heads next!
I think that the anti-drop was really good because it made the song make sence in their discography they can't just go back to a completely happy song right after chaos and minisode 2 i my opinion. And i just know many of the people who are hating on the song because of the anti-drop would have called it boring without it.

1000% agree! the song would've been pretty 2-dimensional if it maintained the bright, funk vibe throughout
