@@MattKonsol lol. Thanks! This old loco can’t really run slow. This engine is still made, but it has seen several significant engineering tweaks over the years and the latest run much better.
Great job you did with that little engine Terry. A bit of a racer right enough. Wihaan seem to be holding on for dear life. Keith on the other hand being a veteran of the to and fro motion of fast train travel doesnt seem to need to hold on to anything other than his watch. Great stuff 😃👍
@@davidwhite1864 the loco could use RC on the regulator. It takes a jolt of steam to get going then you can dial it back. But by then it’s off and running and trying to adjust on the fly is tricky business. I wonder how it compares to the latest improved Ruby.
@@TwistedMacGyversTrains hmm. Well this is a first generation Ruby. The latest new Rubies have better cylinders and valves and such. But this old one took off with this train no problem. I have never loaded it to the point of wheels slipping. Perhaps I should to see what it can haul.
Nooo they are good for kitbashing. I owned a few Ruby iterations. I just prefer d valve and slip eccentric over piston valve with piston valve reverser. The later 1/2 cylinder versions are better and can run slow.
Great day to run live steam and see all the white clouds. Love the low angle shots, such a retro nostalgic mood.
@@watchfordpilot thanks Steve! The air was perfect for some billowing steam. ☺️ The engine itself lends to that retro feel you mentioned.
Great video, I have rolled two locos off table top layouts also.
@@stevenj9414 ouch. Yeah, no fun. Lol. Thanks. ☺️
❤❤❤❤😊
@@associatedblacksheepandmisfits indeed. Great fun.
I bet that was fun running that locomotive right there and very fast too!

Very nice little steamer! My granddaughter is named Ruby, so I probably should get one of those 😅
@@johnlazar7582 yes you should! The latest Ruby locos are several steps of improvements since this first one.
TGV Ruby! Lol looking good
@@timothyboles6457 haha! Eurostar Ruby!

@@davidwhite1864 yes Kieth is a pro. Wihann is to blame for driving so fast!

@Terrys-Steam-and-Bricks Yes it would be an interesting comparison. Just need to find someone with a new one.

Certainly a nice little engine
