i still don't understand why we don't see Hilary Swank anymore in great roles, she's definitely the best actress of her generation along with Kate Winslet
One of my favorite scenes from this excellent film.
Ms. Swank deserved that Oscar just for this scene alone.
This movie is a masterpiece, a shame it breaks my heart in the end.
I wish i could understand the creative choice of the super sad ending
That's part of what makes it a great film. Clint already lost a daughter and takes her in and they become like family for a short time
@@frxdispatchgaming1043 Yes!
It broke everyone's heart... that's why it was genious!
It's not a shame, that's the part that makes the film a masterpiece & real and really makes you appreciate the journey that the heroine was through and how much it meant for her, it sets the film apart from all the other goody-good, cliched applause, uplifting epic music, hands-raised-high in the air endings to a fighting movie. Positive endings don't teach you jack shit, bitter-sweet endings like this one (even though the taste by the end is quite bitter) teach you the value and the price of things.
She never gave up that girl has heart
One of the best on screen relationships ever.....Andy and Red in Shawshank Redemption as well...
Exceptional film. So many important values in life are addressed. Clint kicks the Hollywood jargon to the curb, and stays true to his simple yet poignant vision. Hillary had me in tears. Just beautiful to her soul...
"If I was thinking straight I'd go back home, find me a used trialer, buy me a deep fryer and some Oreos. Problem is this is the only thing I ever felt good doing. If I'm too old for this then I got nothing. That enough truth to suit you?" That part of this scene makes eyes well up every single time.
I purchased both the medium ruclips.net/user/postUgkxfh2XUOHWYHKQYOvSq2gZ6PyCmVkTFGWz and small speed bags from Meister. I'm very glad I got both as the workout is quite different from the two. The small is fantastic for getting your speed built up once familiar with your striking. The medium bag provides a considerable amount more resistance building more strength in your punches. I highly recommend both sizes. Some people have expressed concern over the latex bladder leaking down more frequently than the traditional rubber. I have not found this to be an issue at all.
"OK, you did two things wrong. One is you asked a question and two is you asked another question." Ha ha, classic!
On a whim I started watching this movie again on Netflix, and when Maggie tells Frankie about her family, and how she's got nothin without boxing, my eyes welled up in tears. It's a powerful scene, my favorite. Not sure I can watch the ending again, it was crushing the first time.
I watched the movie first time just after its release. I cried. I watched it 3 more times and cried again. I never cry at movies. I want to watch it again but it is not available on Netflix or Prime video in India. Warner Bros won't accept any card except American ones.
“She came through that door with nothing but guts.” Scrap
this was the scene that won hilary the Oscar!
This is definately one of the key scenes that make this such a superb movie. Brilliant acting, writing and directing.
Oh please. Have you got seen other scenes in the movie?
clint plays the perfect grumpy old man!!!!!
the dialogue is so natural, not scripted! :)
It's amazing how Eastwood manages to give the best performances in all the films he is apart of even though his are the quietest performances of each movie. A lesson for modern cinema: quiet underplayed subtley is superior to loud method flash.
IM TEACHING MY YOUNG DAUGHTER HOW TO BOX. IT SO MUCH REMINDS ME OF THIS ONE SCENE. I USED TO BOX IN THE EARLY 80'S, I BECAME A GOLDEN GLOVER AND A SILVER GLOVER AT 132LBS NYC. AND NOW I GET TO SHOW MY DAUGHTER THE SWEET SCIENCE.
"Okay, you did two things wrong. One is you asked a question and two is you asked another question." LOL Clint is incredible in this movie. And so is Hillary Swank. This is one of my all time favorite movies. It truly is amazing movie making.
The part in the movie were Frankie comes back home after his hospital visit with Maggie and finds another return to sender letter from his daughter and see in his face how as Scrap put it, “has nothing left in him.” Clint Eastwood should have won Best Actor for this role.
Awesome movie all around I have been watching Eastwoods westerns since I was a kid my dad is a huge fan so am I. I hope he directs some more films in the future.
I forgot how great this movie was. Thanks for uploading.
What a horrible family she had. What kind of a woman would pretend her dead child is still alive just for money? And the way they all treat her later on. First ungrateful, then neglectful, and finally selfish. Maggie deserved a lot better.
This is why this movie won so many awards. It has a perfect story, great actors, and a sense of humor. That's what usually makes a great movie.
I have been watching movies for more than 40 yr and there are a few movie scenes that move me and connect me to the character like Hilary Swank!!!
You can clearly tell by the end of the movie that him saying "don't come crying to me if you get hurt" is because he knows he's seen people get very hurt or killed and knows it's a possibility he doesn't wanna bear again.
I don’t know if there’s a bad clip in this whole movie.
This movie broke a little peice of me.I have only watched it once.
A hidden gem is the AMC series:. "Halt & Catch Fire"
“And don’t come crying to me if you get hurt.” 😔
Incredible voice from Clint
"....Sorta like I'm chipping ice with an ice pick."
Couldn't have explained it better!
"You did two things wrong."
"First, you asked a question and second, you asked a question."
That’s lines was just plain mean.
Too take a chance and care about someone so much knowing what the outcome will be , and do it anyway , is freaking scary . But the gift during that time is like no other . Mo Cuishla says it all
This movie is amazing.
I love this movie so much
Honesty ALWAYS wins.
YES YES YES
Swank was marvelous in this flick. The role of her lifetime.
Hilary was beyond brilliant and so deserving of her Oscar.
Is there any way you can post more clips? Thanks!
I love boxing I can't leave without boxing I am two national qualifier boxer in India I like this movie but end of movie cry to me.
really a very very nice movie~i cried~very sad~ :(
First time I saw the movie was on Italian television, dubbed into Italian.
(Fortunately there was closed-captioning; I read Italian even if I can't speak it.)
Cried like a baby.
Wasn't until I saw it in English that I realized it was the Morgan Freeman character doing the voiceover. :-)
But it really didn't matter. Powerful movie. Eastwood rules. I will cry (again) when we lose him.
(Assuming my liver doesn't get me first.)
great scene
That end bit with the speed bag is golden
Tough Ain't Enough
Tough ain't enough!
"Did I know your Mama ?"
I'm debating whether to include clips from this beautiful film in my "Favorite Drama Scenes" RUclips playlist. I don't want someone very young or sheltered to come to my channel and see the last fight and the last scenes, but without them, it isn't as powerful.
is it me, or is this the most emotionally moving/draining Eastwood movie
That movie is very emotional. I didn't know that Eastwood is so emotional man. Anyway, the movie is great and director and actors 2
This scene is a fantastic speed bag tutorial.
everyone should watch this movie, Clint Eastwood we will miss you! when the lord calls your number.
HILARY SWANK IS AMAZING!
powerful scene
how is this part of a presentation????
When you hear Mr. Eastwood and remember The Dark Knight
"One."
If this movie had been made in 2018, Hillary Swank's character would have marched outside the gym with a pick-it sign that said "The trainer is a mysogynist who refuses to train women." BuzzFeed would have had a field day with it. The gym would close. She never becomes a champ. The end.
😂
yeah screw those sjw's
Claudia Duran haha true, or there would racial monikers and social issues shoved down our throats endlessly. Clint keeps it real though. He’s the man...
a remake of this would be called "million dollar baby boomer 2020"
😂 pretty on point
Girlie, tough ain't enough.

K think im getting the hang of it on how to post you tube videos!!!! I think freakn phone going haywire lol
Julie-san and Old Snake.
I'm 40 and an experienced boxer in my gym just offered to train me!!! For nothing! Decent!!!!! If you are genuine it shows I reckon....
hard to be a 34 yr old eastwood..but..ok ..he helps his guns
One person who watched this video still doesn't know how to hit a speed bag...
Make that 2
For all the criticism that Clint Eastwood's "Harry Callahan" character received for being a sexist and all that bullshit, and because Eastwood was so good at the role people believed he shared those values/blah..blah.. Eastwood blew all the critics away and doubters away by this acting performance and directing this empowering movie.
Please pick out the most blue pill scene in the The most blue pill movie ever:. "After Hours"
i am thankful for the nice non-sexist comments from men. good job lads. :)
I think Clint Eastwood brought out what was the best in Hillary Swank. Later she never had a memorable role
she needs a father
Can't believe this won an oscar
Movies that just wouldnt be allowed to be made today
This movie sucked. It was like something made in the 1950s before people came together as a community.
Better times, and a better movie than all the globohomo propaganda that gets shoved down our throats. Gtfo these comments
