I use the IKEA brand press too. After pouring in the boiling water, make sure to mix the coffee grounds with a spoon. Then cover it with the cap but don't press until after the brewing time (4, 5 or 6 mins). Now you'll love the taste even more regardless what brand you used. Great video and clear instructions.
@@Veronica_1111 When I started to use the press, I just poured the hot water over the grounds, but got tips to stir the grounds for even flavour and easier to plunge down. Otherwise no stirring, it stays floating at the top and not only you won't get the full flavour while brewing, it's also harder to plunge down.
Thank you for this video! I have had this IKEA French press for a few years and never new how to properly use it. It turns out, I was using it wrong. Your video was so helpful! Thank you for teaching me a new way to enjoy my coffee. Cheers!
After breaking my first two glass French Press carafes I went with a stainless, double walled Austrian design (Made in China though). It's been a good performer and it's been nice not having to worry about it shattering. Got it via Amazon but I recently saw it sold at Aldi.
I just found this video and looked up that double walled glass and was disappointed to see that they no longer sell them. Thanks for showing me how to use a French press though!
I love this video, thank you for the clear instructions. I'm wondering however, what would you do in an instance where you find it hard to finish pressing down? Do you raise it and then keep trying again?
I messed up I placed the coffee in the strainer and then added the water , I wondered why I had grounds in my coffee…I paid $9.99 they make great gifts, I take it on vacations along with the IKEA coffee. I should have watched your video prior, thanks.

Demasiado trabajo. Para mí, la preparación del té o el café tiene que limitarse a los preparativos iniciales imprescindibles: agua caliente, te o café, y el resto ha de ser un proceso desatendido.

Kind words and good advice. Thanks for watching! DANDLINC.

You forgot to wait a minimum of 4 mins for the coffee to get to your best taste. Start at 4 mins and go more for stronger coffee.

You don't wait 4 minutes after you pour in the boiling water, like everybody else, is there a reason for that? I'm just new to this.
Does this work with tea ?
how many minutes before pressing?
many opinions but ill have it about 4 minutes before pressing it
Can i use any type of coffee? Not exactly like the bean coffee but more like chunk type..grinder type
Doesn't he touch the plastic part above when pouring hot coffee into the glass? Wouldn't it be healthier to have steel?

Hi,

Thanks 😥😥❤️!
Thx bro !!
Pronounciation was almost right! The Upp was pretty much correct, but hetta is ‘he’ like hen without the n, and ‘ta’ like ta-ta :D
u sound like Jimmy mcgill/saul goodman!
Nice video ! 👍🏻
BPA free?
thx
How do you take it apart to clean?

You drink water buddy, not coffee
Thanks for all of the advise but you could have use just a little bit of water to get the glass hot!!! I cannot believe you just waste all the water!!
Quit wasting water with the preheating
Nice! wasting all that water for just warming up your f press. good job.
