Edit 2 but more:ok so bacisly when the animals died, there souls became restless and wanted revenge on the source of the problem. Herobrine. This hate allowed them the remanifest into soulless beings, as herobrine took there souls. Herobrine is scared by the pure strength of the raw hatred from thoose two, so he gave Calvin the soul morner to try and trick him into killing them, when all they want is to help kill herobrine as revenge

I think that the scariest thing about herobrine and Alex is that they look like players. they don't act like regular Minecraft AI.
They walk like a player, interact with the world like a player, they can even use other mods! (Alex's signs, Herobrine using the soul mourner (golden Katana), herobrine threatening Calvin with a cave dweller spawn egg, the use of reinforced block in the haunted cave, etc). They even transform the terrain after world generation like a player terraforming!
It actually looks like they are controlled by a player, or if his world was truly haunted by those two entities, not a mod and that's the terrifying thing about them.

Dawg, I was just rewatching all the episodes from this season, and I just noticed something crazy. So y'all obviously know about that creepy ass Iron golem right? Well apparently he's been watching calvin from episode 1. The first time he shows up is right at 8:15, and you can tell it's not a normal golem because it doesn't have the cool animations or any eyes and unlike a normal golem it doesn't move, instead it just watches Calvin. I think it might've been possessing the golems or something.
Finally some lore, thanks for your discovery!

Personally, the dude who messes with the door, knocker or whatever, he scares me the most. It's not a random jumpscare like others, there's ALOT of build up. Tap tap tap to banging tf out of that door. You can't see on the other side of it, it's a personal choice to open it. Like they say, curiosity killed the cat, but I say satisfaction brought him back.
There's also a slim chance of the Knocker, after knocking the door like you said, from tap tap to banging the door, there's a slim chance the Knocker will OPEN the door by himself.
That makes it worst. You will be staring at the door, choosing not to open the door, but you still need to be careful because sometimes he can open it by himself.

For the liminal library use chiseled bookshelves to put books and enchanted books in, to free up chest space. To make one is planks for the top and bottom rows, and half slabs in the middle row.
I swear to god I'm not crazy. 12 years ago a Minecraft series called The Haunting was made, revolving around Herobrine. In that series there is a important plot element of 3 "Sacred diamonds". In the weird end rod bedrock room there were THREE diamonds, two in opposing walls and one in the ceiling. This could just be a random insane coincidence, but if its not it would be a insane pull.

I recently found a mod that may be a nice addition! Its called Exposure and it adds a camera you can take pictures with, you then develop those pictures and can hold onto them, put them in frames or even in a photo album. I just think it would be really cool to take pictures of the dwellers and such entities, would add a more... investigative vibe if that makes sense.

Calvin i absolutely love your from the fog series. I recently went through the lowest point i have ever felt from january to now and your series has been one of the best things to make me smile and laugh. Each time an episode is uploaded i'd instantly grab my blankets and cuddle up to watch and each joke, especially you telling herobrine hes a 'master at his craft' made me audibly laugh and feel much better. The Calvin imposter is actually the Knocker reskinned. The head trembling and blindness effects from eye contact gives this away.
I worked out a way to enter the Twilight Forest portal even with the barrier blocks above:
- Dig three blocks down, two blocks away from the portal (so all blocks adjacent to the portal remain)
- Dig a tunnel in a straight line toward the portal so you have a 1x2x3 tunnel (1 block wide, 2 blocks tall and 3 blocks long)
- Dig up to reach the portal. The portal will break and the water will fall down but that's okay
- Place a trapdoor where the block you just broke was, so it stops the water from flowing down. You'll have to place it on the upper half of the block so that when it's closed it's flush with the tops of the other blocks directly below the water source blocks
- Stand directly below the trapdoor, open it and throw a diamond up into the water. Then close the trapdoor and the portal will reactivate
Then you can enter the portal by opening the trapdoor and jumping
Please like this so Calvin can see
Edit: You will still be able to leave the Twilight Forest afterwards. I tested with the barrier blocks in the same places as in the video and they do not affect your ability to leave. When you use the portal to return to the Overworld, you'll spawn standing next to the portal if you used the one at 5:34 or crawling on one of the blocks with the flowers if you used the portal at 6:06 (the flowers will Wither you, however, so bear that in mind)

Calvin the tower with the piece of bone staff is part of the Graveyard mod, when you get all 3 pieces you're supposed to find a floating island, then you can try to kill the boss (you need to follow the ritual)

You know im slowly starting to think Bree and Herobrine want to turn Calvin into whatever they are. I dont have any concrete proof its just a feeling I have because why else would they be showing him all this? "To make him lose his mind"/"Because they enjoy his suffering" aren't exactly great answers and a lot of the stuff they put him trough feels like they're either showing off their power (Herobrine lava\waterbending), straight up hazing him (remember the tunnel with Bree, TNT, the diamonds and the Steve dweller?), and now with the rescuing Bree from the Twilight Forest, that felt like a test. And if it wasn't and Bree was genuinely trapped well thats all the more reason for them to want Calvin on their team. PLUS THE STRANGER WITH YOUR FACE "WHAT DO YOU GAIN BY LOOKING LIKE ME"- But hey I might be just yapping take this with handful of salt lol

The one who watches is probably the highest quality and scariest mods and the dev keeps making him better
The only problem I have with that mod is the jpeg jumpscare. It's the cheapest type of jumpscare and makes me just not wanna play the mod if out of the blue I can just have a scary face pop up on my screen with no warning and a loudass scream accompanying it. Everything else about the mod is by far the best of these horror mods aside from From The Fog (Herobrine) itself.
This probably has to be the most bone chilling episode yet. I love this series so dang much and I'm always looking forward to each episode! If I were you, I'd put the chests in your base against the wall so there's more space to get them, and that Alex won't spook you again and you have to worry about something hiding between the chests :)
