Outstanding restoration!!! I especially liked the chemistry work involved and the spritz of red on the reservoir. I won’t lecture you on safety… the viewer who referenced the mask couldn’t tell if you had a fan or an open door for ventilation. I’m sure you considered that. Well done sir!!
Very nicely done, very reminiscent of a time when if the power went out everybody had at least one lamp they could fall back on. Thanks for sharing and good luck with your projects. 😊👍👍🤝👏
Great job. I have a pair, very similar to that one, that I restored a few years back. My wife collects oil lamps, so I get to restore her garage sale/flea market finds.
Hello from Eugene, OR USA! Wonderful restoration! Real men can restore anything they put their minds to - the other watchers are just jealous of your abilities to be well rounded! What did you use to clean out the interior of the lamp reservoir? What did you use to clean the other pieces of the lamp? Was that rust remover and kerosene? Please stay safe!

Haha, I wasn't paying close attention and thought the title of the video was ANTI lamp restoration 😂 I was like, "Who is anti lamp?" Then I saw it says Antique Lamp 🤭
4:48 found a small dent ... covered by the frame wnen the lamp is hung on the wall with the reflector ... howd I know the mud was coming out? Since that dent cannot normally be seen, and isn't that deep, why "fix it" with auto body putty? For that matter, WHY fix it? The lamp is normally in the holder/frame with the reflector. That dent is covered by the holder/frame. Honestly, I am surprised you did not cover everything but the reflector disk, wick assembly, and the glass chimney with the mud. (have you had a restoration of a metal item were you DIDN'T use autobody filler (mud), liquid steel, or some other product to fill dents or pits? If you were a bodyman, you would be "a plastic surgeon" since you reach for the mud first. That dent could have been removed by heating the surrounding metal, maybe with a few taps with a brass rod from the inside, if it bothered you that much.) Anyway, you lost me when you broke out the mud. I saw the green paint on the back of the reflector arm, and outside the fuel tank before you sandblasted. (good job on that! you are the first I've seen who (1) has enough media in the sand blaster. (2) uses enough air pressure to actually clean the peice more than +/- 0.25 inch at a time.) I have little doubt you will repaint or powder coat everything but the reflector disk, wick assembly (you will probably nickel plate those two parts) and the glass chimney, a green that is close to the original. IMHO, the lantern would look much better if it was brass or copper plated, with nickel plated wick assembly and reflector disk. Silver plating the reflector would cost a bit, and without a coat of lacquer, would quickly tarnish, so not really a viable option.. Aloha.
Back to the old days of the silent movies!! If only you could have told us, or even put on screen, what chemicals you were using to do this job! You did make a nice job of it - but a bit more chat wouldn’t go astray, please . . . 10:32

Nice,👍🏻
I love these videos! And the music! Could you tell me the name of the music?
Nice!
Nice😊
4:53 is that air horn in the background?
Yes, it's an air raid siren. Unfortunately, this is everyday life in Ukraine now😕
@@handmaxx thats sad to hear. I hope they will stop this nonsence verry soon
good job
Thanks!
Are you based in Germany? I've heard those sirens before on another German channel I used to watch, what are they for?
... was that an air raid siren, around the five-minute mark?
Don't care much for the 'cooper', but elsewise it is a nice resto.
Ficou muito lindo 👍👍

Which are the chemicals you use?
Parabéns restauração magnífica ❤
Belle lampe
How long did it take to recover?
Completed in 5 hours
Our grandmoms made a lessons of homeworks unger light of the same kerosine lamps.
You did not mention any names of solvent, liquid etc used by you . Is it secret?
it's not a secret :) This is a simple decorative copper plating, I didn't think it would be interesting. Will definitely mention next time!
hello beautiful lampada antiga brazil
