In hindsight, it's amazing how prescient this sketch was. Dale suggests that, for a fraction of the cost of his extravagant global fighting tournament, Bison could just build an orbital superweapon to take over the world.
That's exactly what Bison does in Street Fighter V. Bison finally took Dale's advice.

So it looks like the whole soul thing is more of a suggestion than the verified backstory of Rose...

I think it's the smile and how sincere he sounds...as if he actually cares about a DVD player for the kids...when the car's just going to be destroyed before any kids even get a chance to use the DVD player. I love how with all the other characters , Dale is bold, straightforward and not shy at all about his opinions. But with M. Bison, he is extremely cautious and careful, lol. It makes sense, it shows Pete Holmes really knows how to use his character most effectively.
And by gosh, I love this guy as M. Bison. I could watch a SERIES on this guy as M. Bison alone.

well, the m.bison in the street fighter live action movie with Van Damme even had the same costume, skull on the cap included. as campy as that movie is, you have to agree that they had the main villain look right.
There was only one movie as far as I know. And it was 23 years ago, I think special effects got a bit better since.

I love this - because he wouldn't dare question M Bison's strength, but they made M Bison look inept anyway. ...is it not bumming anyone else out that You Tube spoofs get the character's costumes and make up better than Hollywood does?
It erks the hell out of me..regular people do 100 times better with their costume design. Pete holmes is hilarious though
I think it's because the hollywood people consider these costumes as goofy. Since superhero movies tend to be so dark and gritty all the time, you can't have a character wearing a brightly colored costumes with weird shoulderpads or skull necklaces or whatever. It has to look more "modern" and more "hollywood". So they tell designers to reinvent them or sth. I don't know.
What if they did a very vivid ode to a comic, by keeping the costumes the same and just making it gritty by adding a very compelling story. I guess Whedon got the closest to doing it in Avenger's. Actually Marvel is pretty good at keeping the integrity of the characters. Oh GOD, if they got ahold of X-Men or Spider Man; If witches exist can you all start chanting at the same time - make it happen girls.

Honestly, I totally see where you're coming from. Unfortunately, the real reason that VG and comics costumes aren't faithful in Hollywood is the costume designer. All the best costumers in Hollywood are artists and like to make their own stamp on things. A producer usually has to promise that in order to attract the designer they want. The designs in VG's have already BEEN designed...by the devs. If they tried to copy the original costumes completely, they wouldn't really be "designing" anything. They'd just be Costume Fabricators.

Bison is the world's richest criminal and can fund himself and the Shadoloo's; Ken comes from a billionaire family; Zangief and Guile can fly at the tax payers expense; E.Honda is a Yokozuna; Chun Li is rich off being the strongest female fighter; Ryu is best friend's with Ken so can get him to fund all his travelling; Dhalsim runs a successful charity and receives money from wealthy benefactors, and since Blanka is Charlie. He can get Guile to jump him through the necessary hoops and use the military to fly him around. So it's very possible they can afford the frequent travelling and staging costs of this extravagant global tournament.
Being the strongest female fighter doesn't make you rich, I don't think that's how tax payer money works. Ryu doesn't seem like the type to asked for hand outs, and blanks isn't charlie.
Ideally, you can rent out the Mercedes Benz stadium and have the set designers arrange the arena to resemble the home challenger's home.
I really LOVE this... I’ve watched all of them many times and the Ex-Men series. It’s so funny to really cut through the logic of the insane strung together plot lines of the games.
Hope Akuma is in at somepoint and Terrorizes his way into the tournament. Or Dan Hibiki just for some bashing. Great stuff Pete!

This is years late, but I do love the fact that the only two people Dale treats with respect are Chun-Li Because he his hitting on her until shot down, and Bison, and even Bison responds to him when he flat out states certain views/truths. But honestly the fact Bison was willing to *hear* dissenting opinions even before he realized he was that broke says a lot about him as a person.
