Hi! I’m currently using the carb cleaner spray to wash down the flux. I just hold the board vertically, and position it that way to get the part of board I need to wash as low as possible. It works super fast and I don’t need to use brush, it just wipes everything off in few seconds. The benefit is that I’m able to get it extra clean in the spares between the components legs. After it I use compressed air to blow out the leftovers of carb cleaner and water condensate that appears on the other side of board because of the temperature difference between the spray and the air. As far I see no damage to board or components after using it. Thank you for your videos, they helped me few times to get my job done!
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your tremendous help in completing this installation. I am so grateful for your guidance and patience. Without your help, I would have been completely lost. You made the process much easier than I thought. Thanks again for everything. I'm so happy, greetings from Palermo, Italy.
Perfect timing! Just getting into programming an immediately I discovered I’m going to be getting into EEPROM. Best time is now with the whole supply shortage.
@@vernelljohnson6037 I'VE READ / OR HEARD SOMEWHERE THAT ERASING THE STORED INFO ALLOWS THE CHIP TO RECORD THE "NEW" VIN , I WOULD'NT WANT TO CHANCE IT WITHOUT CONFIRMATION
After you've cleaned/scrubbed the flux with the spray 1st go around, stand the board on edge when you go for the 2nd round. It washes out under the components better, letting everything run off.
Mario!!! Man what a valuable video my man. This is absolutely going to become more and more necessary as cars become more and more computer based in function.
Mario! Great video! I surely picked up some tips! I have been using kester flux and I'm not a fan of the stuff that I got. I think I am going to try amtech next.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Just wondering how I can practice using eeprom with my ps90 xtool diag tool. Should I be able to make a key for a 2007 Suzuki vitara with this method? Where do I start ? Any guide to point me at would be appreciated. Thanks again
My 04 mazda 3 has a faulty relay in the ECM. I have to open (desolder) the metal box to switch out a $5 relay then solder the ECM back together. Or pay a dealership over 1000 bucks to get a new ECM. I have no lights in the back of my vehicle. No night lights, license plate lights. It does not come on when its hot. Its summer now. My car is down. I am nervous but i must do it.
Get a small squirt bottle with a needle tip to fill with rubbing alcohol. Dab the flux lightly (when youre cleaning it off) with your lint free rag then wash the rest off with the alcohol. Like anything else, the more you do, the better youll get at it. Great video!
Someone casually told me to swap out my eeprom on my icp like it was no big deal. I had no idea, by the way he said it, that it was this involved 😒 thanks for the info man
So can we swap clusters if we're able to solder the old EEPROM (came off of old cluster) onto the board of the new cluster? Or do we have to learn how to read and write the EEPROM with an EEPROM programmer? I wish you would do a video on explaining the EEPROM and a way of programming it? Thank you!
Wonderful video. The only one that is truly useful for this technique. l have a potential problem. I removed the eprom chip from the "new" radio but it does not have the identifying features described. There is no printing on the chip and is square-edged on all sides. I will remove the chip from the old radio tomorrow but need to be sure I don't install it backwards in the new radio. Any tips?
Please help me, I have a problem with the Audi A6 C5 2.5 engine ECU, my problem is that the car does not respond to the gas, I changed the pedal and nothing, the car goes 1100 rpm. please show me at least roughly where the part i can replace is in the ecu bosch 4b2 907 401
That is not an eeprom sir that's a high side switch in a so-8 package. Nice camera, Does it stream well to something like obs or did you edit the video afterword's.
Hey mario we have a 1997 Holiday Rambler Endeavor LE RV F53 CHASSIS F350 460 engine. We have an issue that can possibly be the PCM. How do we get the pcm tested? We live in the rv and cant afford a new one.

Good method. I prefer low temp alloy solider. It’s an extra step but it you use this method on VW clusters. You will end up lifting a pad A third of the time.
I have a 2004 ML 350 and the dealer said they can't fix it because the AAM is out of production and VIN specific, so a used one can NOT be used. Will your SYSTEM after replacement work in my car? If so, with annual Texas car inspection/license will the vin be different? Is there anyone in Dallas Texas who has your skills?
Hi nice & interesting to watch, he makes it look easy. I wish ,I had his ability.. Question I have a 04 Focus SVT the ecu has no communication on the OBD port or to the Cluster, shows -'----- in miles area or no fuel or spark. So I got a used ecu from a 03 svt focus, bypass the pat system by taping the key that came with the replacement ecu, And car now start & runs..But car has a Supercharger And I have a SCT tuner with the tunes that I need but the SCT scanner is married to the oem ecu. Need help on how can I get the oem ecu fix or how can I get the Vin transfer to the replacement ecu..
would you please be able to give me any hints. i have got a pdc error on my lci e70 x5 that says "short to ground - terminal 30" everything else works fine, no lights, camera works just no pcd. ive tried a different jbe module and even probed the wire to check for any short/continuety with a multimeter and nothing.thx
Hey brother I have a 2017 BOSXTER and I just got a used rear end module and I can’t program it using Maxisys elite and I’m trying to locate the eeprom to swap it, can you help me out finding the right location to determine the right one to swap? Will be much appreciated
Will it bricked the rear end donor? I don’t mind giving it a try I don’t really care about the donor module, I was only able to copy the data from the old to the donor I can see the vin is been written on it but when I’m trying to coding online with the Maxisys Elite it failed. I have the emmobilizer fault code on the memory of the rear end control module, Maybe by swapping EPROMs I will fix it. I can’t virginized this thing and I don’t really want to buy a new module and try to program with the elite. Sending it to porsche to programming will kill my pocket
