At HD - $268 out the door right now 10/29/23 with a 9ah battery! (w/hack it’s $127.05 for the saw and $121.95 for the battery these are without tax calculated in- thanks ToolBoss)
It's really personal preference. I grew up using the sidewinder style saw. but the more I use a circular saw I like the rear handle design. In terms of power i believe the flexvolt rear handle is a bit more powerful, but they're probably close enough that it's negligible.
Own both, use the worm drive while framing houses and the other for everything else. Both good saws, the worm drive comes into its own when on the roof.
I use the gauge all the time at work i have to cut back 1/4 inch to rabbit my siding on a custom piece and i just line it up to 1/4 i dont need to waste time measuring
@@4thewinak I have the 578 been using it for 6 months now it’s a beast of a saw. It’s only weakness is ripping 2x4’s on a bevel you can rip probably 4 studs after that the battery is dead. But we rarely rip 2x4’s like that. I just bought this saw the rear handle and I can’t wait to use it tomorrow at work, we are starting on a new build! Can’t wait to cut all the floor joists!
Since they don’t make a 7 1/2 inch, I believe you mean 7-1/4 inch. Anyhow, I doubt it. It hard (not impossible) for any lower voltage tool in to compete with the higher voltage ones like the 54v flexvolt due to the efficient loss when pushing the amount of current required to generate the same amount of power. BUT I guess we’ll have to put that to the test.

This is a fantastic review. So thorough. Love the technical info on power science. Thank you! Just what I needed
Great demonstration with excellent background information…..thanks.
Now that's a real review. U did your homework dude and for that you have a new subscriber
Thanks!
Love circukal saw video with comparing batery performance 😎
Apparently you don't love proper grammar though.
@@whatthehellimbored ok ?
Just bought this, on its second house……. Love it great for framing
awesome!

Truly powerful, i cut a piece of really hard wood of a pallet, where the 20v 6 1/2 could not z both had new blades
yep. i can relate to that
I feel like that hole on the dust collection connection is to catch extra sawdust that flies over the side. Its pretty genius.
There is an optional edge guide from DeWalt that uses both front & rear slots.
nice! I need that. not really but i want it.
good job bro
thanks!
Good grief is the vacuum even on?? Great test
lols yes
Can you do the test with a 15 amp please
Do you recommend the Dewalt worm drive over the 7-1/4” circular saw (flexvolt also)

Try the DCS578 as well. Need to see which saw is fastest on the planet.
hmmm need to get one of those i guess
@@4thewinak will wait patiently for the video if you do!

Three sheets change the battery then use two sheets really
The Dewalt rear handle saw is not the fastest cutting saw on the market today. That title belongs to the Flex Tools 7 1/2" saw.

It doesn't someone already tested it dewalt is the most powerful and Fastest
that saws slow man, get your facts right....complete junk......
Dewalt is the king on this one... flex is good though...
@@4thewinak yes, my mistake.
Dewalt 15AH battery 🔋
Yeah probably need to get one of those.
Is it flexvolt though and will it fit in there seems like the 3amp flex is as tight as it gets
I bought this saw here in Scotland and it came with the dust port. Tool only. Just saying.
Lmfao , ALL worm drive saws are “rear handle” !
Not as fast as the skill saw worn saw
You're right, the dewalt is much, much faster. ruclips.net/video/q5_x_h4EG-w/видео.html

Anything is possible. could all depend on the material being cut, batteries being used, test setup. etc.
