We don't see ladies and instantly think "I love her". It's much more complicated. It has to be someone we've known for a long time. That we know well. And her being the only person you can trust. I'm INFJ, and I only love one woman. She's interverted, which is a main reason we understand each other so much. Of course, we can feel lonely and that no one understands us. Mainly because it is true. No one understands us, INFJ is so rare that only a percentage of the population is like us. There is much more where this little post came from.

What you say does make sense. But we have to consider how he feels at the moment when he is watching all the other people enjoy companionship. He is hurt, not only from the fact that he is not with someone, but also because the girl never gave him a chance, whether he asked her out or not. By not taking that initial step, it's almost as if the other person never took that step either. Thus, when the other girl showed interest in him, it was almost as if she was saying I'm willing to take a chance and understand you. And sadly, as an INFJ, we can see at first it's tough to decide whether we want to take that risk or not.

I am a Clinical Psychologist with 30 years of experience dealing with people. I was branded a INFJ quite sometime ago. I never really accepted that evaluation because placing 'labels' on people puts them into a box. It limits their potentiality and personal growth. At worse, it can destroy a individual's self determination and freedom. However, the Myers Briggs Personally Test is interesting but somewhat incomplete. I have never encountered a 'classical' INFJ before. Why? Because certain characteristics of this personality type have many subgroups some of which overlap other MBTI personality types. That being said I will describe the characteristics of how a 'orthodox' INFJ thinks, behaves and responds in strict accordance with the MBTI Personalty Test. Be forewarned, I find some INFJ 'stereotypes' rather funny. And will approach such in a humorous fashion. INFJ's posess a wonderfully sense irony and will immediately recognize the silly 'stereotypes' others have attrubuted to them.....So let's start breaking some myths about the INFJ Personalty Type
When a INFJ gives you the dreaded 'Death Stair' they are not attempting to understand you. They are wondering if you're carrying a gun. Killing INFJ's is a pleasurable experience. Why? Because everyone hates a smart ass.
INFJ's frequently experience 'Sensory Overload' issues. They love Forests, Parks and Woodland areas to recharge their batteries. Why? Because trees don't talk! A squirrel cannot complain it has 'Daddy Issues'. Pine trees do not suffer from 'gender identity' problems. And I have never seen a bunny rabbit strung out Crack Cocaine. Solitude is bliss.
Never say to a INFJ, 'I do not understand', They will run away screaming or jump infront of a bus. No one understands them. INFJ's sometimes don't even understand themselves.
INFJ's feel uncomfortable being around large groups of people. However, once you get them talking, they never shut up.
Why do a INFJ 'Door Slam' people? Because it's called a Coping Mechanism. They dislike being emotionally hurt. There is nothing strange about this behavior. Some people become alcoholics others pill poppers. INFJ's will just run away and pretend you never existed.
INFJ's have the psychic ability to absorb people's emotions. No. This is phenomen is called 'Transference'. If you continuously talk about your problems, a INFJ will unconsciously adopt some aspects of your emotional state. However, INFJ's posess strong identities which prevents them from going completely insane.
INFJ's are the most honest, compassionate and sensative people on Earth. Not really. Mother Nature just screwed them up genetically. They're brains are hard wired to respond during crisis situations. A 'diehard' INFJ will instinctively sacrifice their life attempting to save yours. No questions asked. Why? I have no freaking idea. I didn't invent the rules. Ask God. I'm sure She knows.
INFJ's think differently than others. Yes. They think outside the box. They live outside the box. They have never actually seen the box. What does it look like? Does it contain groceries?
INFJ types are occasionally arrogant, cold towards others and aloof. This is actually true. Being omnipotent has its drawbacks. INFJ's have a difficult time sugar-coating the truth. Being overtly honest is their trademark. If they sense someone cannot handle the truth, they will lie to protect that person's emotions.
INFJ's are stubborn yet will openly admit to errors in judgment or making mistakes.
INFJ's think too deeply. They want to solve everyone's problems. They get frustrated when people ask for advice - then completely ignore their recommendations! They do not understand why everyone keeps making the same mistakes over and over again. Eventually, a INFJ will simply give up. The phrase 'People need to learn things the hard way' was invented by a INFJ. So was the 'unfriend' button on Facebook.
INFJ's do not respect authority because they have developed their own Moral, Ethical, Spiritual and Cognative belief systems. Mature (older) INFJ's care very little about how people perceive them and less about the impressions they make upon others. INFJ's enjoy approval and acceptance (like everyone else) but infrequently compromise their princepals to simply fit in.
Do not mistake a INFJ's confidence as egocentrismn. There is a difference.
INFJ's are frequently interpreted as posessing a Narcissist Personalty Disorder. This stereotype is absolutely false. A Narcissist loves adoration and attention. The typical INFJ cares more about others than themselves, sometime to their own detriment.
INFJ's dislike themselves. They feel alone within the world and misunderstood. Being a INFJ a curse. Consequently, a small minority INFJ's often experience psychological Depression, Alienation Issues and Avoident Behavior problems. The phrase 'You are your own worst enemy' accurately describes a INFJ's perception of themselves.
The most admirable personality traits of the INFJ are (1) INFJ's are compassionate which makes them a easy targets for emotional exploitation and abuse. Never play 'Guilt Games' with a INFJ. They already persecute themselves (subconsciously) for being different. (2) They don't have the ability to forgive themselves for past mistakes, A INFJ's unforgiving 'Guilt Complex' is an integral part of their personality. INFJ's have occasionally been known to slowly kill themselves over time, believing they deserve such suffering. 'Hell on Earth' is their punishment and they willing accept it....sometimes. Not always. (3) Once you secure the trust of a INFJ, everything about them suddenly becomes clear. The stereotypes vanish. These are people you want within your life. They have incredible insight into human nature and will identify your weaknesses and lift you up from darkness. Seeing the world through a INFJ eyes is the greatest gift they can offer.
It would be impossible to understand a MBTI typology without stating the negative traits of a specific personality group.
The 'Dark Side' of a INFJ is rather frightening. Never test their 'Authenticity' or personal dignity. Do not play games with a INFJ. They have limitations like everyone else. A INFJ can determine your intentions or plans within minutes. Literally. This Hyperobservient behavior is quite unique. Avoid getting into heated arguments with a INFJ unless you are prepared to be intellectually, emotionally or psychologically castrated. They have cognitive resources almost beyond understanding. A vindictive INFJ will never stop until they destroy your life (this has nothing to do with physical murder). Such behavior is almost Psychopathic in nature (hence the concern INFJ's may be catorgized as possessing a Psychological Disorder rather than a Personality Dysfunction). Fortunately, INFJ's are not prone to violent behavior. They give up easily, This is where the 'Door Slam' or simply walking away from an argument comes from. Once they reveal their true inner nature, you will begin to understand why only 1% of the world's population are INFJ's. They are so dam charming.
INFJ's dislike small talk, idle conversations, superficial people and hypocrites. Life is too short talking to such individuals (but they understand its occasionally necessary to be socially accepted)
INFJ's are not spontaneous. They just pretend to be spontaneous. Their minds are always attempting to 'connect the dots....even when there are no dots!
When the Zombie Apocalypse occurs, a INFJ will be eaten screaming, "I told you so... I told you so!"
Imagine your on the Titanic. It's 1912. You see a Iceberg coming. Your jumping around and telling everyone the ship is about to sink. People just laugh and finish their Champagne. Welcome to the wonderful world of a INFJ.
Avoid getting into deep conversations with a INFJ. They are walking encyclopedias. They will jump from topic to topic then back again to support a idea or theory. Male INFJ's are 'scattered brained' in the worst way possible. But there is method to such madness. The are searching for the correct answer to a specific problem. And 95% of the time they will discover it... or have a complete nervous breakdown trying.
Occasionally, you will notice a INFJ acting mysteriously, doing unusual things or just behaving weird. Get used to this behavior. It has absolutely nothing to do with you. The INFJ is just going through a 'stage' or experimenting with something that interests them. Like building a Thermonuclear Bomb or discovering a cure for Herpes.
Never tell a INFJ they have a 'Old Soul'. They are absolutely terrified of being reincarnated again. INFJ's are aware that neither Heaven or Hell wants them. Why? Because God doesn't need the extra competition on who should run Heaven (Him or a INFJ) and Satan can't deal with a INFJ pestering him for all eternity....that would be considered cruel and unusual punishment.
Aliens will never abduct a INFJ. There are some things too bizarre even for Extraterrestrials.
INFJ's have a difficult time forming a thought or idea into words. Yes. Someday a INFJ will develop Telekinesis and scare the hell out of everyone. Stop laughing, it's going to happen.
So next time you accidentally encounter a INFJ, break all COVID 'Social Distancing' issues and hug them. INFJ's are a endangered species. Literally. Whatever purpose they were created for has already been accomplished. There represent only 1% of 7.7 billion people on planet Earth according to MBTI statistics. In my opinion, this Myers Briggs Personality represents the noblest aspects of humanity....Intelligent, Wise, Caring, Virtuous, Observent, Altruistic and Protective. Dispight their faults (which everyone has, no one is perfect) INFJ's are genuine. You get exactly what you see meeting these people. No convert agenda, deeply empathic intellectuals who sincerely care about you. They have a excellent sense of humor also (wink).

I had the sense this was a moment of two INFJs seeing each other for the first time.
There is one sense I have from my limited experiences of INFJs, you have a funny notion about the world. How much the world needs you to stand up and say "hello" and how strange it is that instead you just observe. I would encourage you all to take the chance to participate with us as you do not seem to understand the depth of what you bring.
How dichotomous your type can be is the most complimentary understatement I can provide.

The Lonely Bachelor is me. The male INFJ. Excellent work, as your video portrays my romantic dilemma to a tee. The emotional subtleties are uncannily accurate. Freaky even. From the eye movements, to the sighing, to the way he hopes to meet the actress in the newspaper, then stalks her (sort of), hoping to find her single. I’m always seeking to find the idealized woman, yet sadly believing to never find her. Or more so, feeling undeserving of her, even though I know I’m an amazing catch. “Never Give Up.” Thank you, Mr. Barracuda. You brought back hope.

I my self am INFJ and it actually hurts a bit to watch this, even though the end was happy, being in that long and hard phase before can be a challenging thing to deal with. Especially if you can't seem to get out of it and find someone. I seem to move too slow when it comes to relationships, I get the nerve to ask a girl, find I was too late, take time to go looking again and repeat. I empathize with this character, yet it also seems to hit me somewhere as well.

That is such a sweet video. Very innovative, the art and the music as well. I cried large tears. There are so many lonely beings in the world. At Sea World a polar bear just died because of loneliness. One can die from that. We need to build some type of setting where animals and people can meet in person, without alcohol, without drugs, without cigarettes, where people make something together, create art. An elephant juvenile died because he knew that he was going to be separated from his best friend. We are all beings that are in need of company. We want to share our thoughts with others.

Our fear of rejection is the only thing which keeps us INFJs back. I'm lucking as an INFJ to know this at such a young age. I will not allow myself to fail like many others have before me. Learn from my mistakes, fix upon them. Like the great physicist Albert Einstein once said, insanity is not to do something crazy or unreasonable, it's to "do the same things over and over again and expecting different results".

Yeah this really covers INFP really well, idealising a match and covers their inner depth and uniqueness quite well, not saying INFJs don't get hurt be people betraying them, they do, but this is is a video focusing on an individuals inner light (Fi) not their outer warmth (Fe). Idealising someone they've not met and getting hurt when that person meets someone else is much more of an INFP trait, IMO

Even though the video didn't show anything concrete, this is what I picked up he was overromaticizing someone they were observing from afar, which is really platonic love. Now a true infj follows his feeling right and another thing an infj falls in love once in a lifetime so taking these two things in consideration if he was in love with that girl he wouldn't even need courage to pursue his love, it would come naturally, but anyway he wasn't in love with her even though he kept thinking about her and future posibilities. When he was noticing people's relationships, the way they were interacting with each other and their body language for him it was like they were telling a story. At the restaurant it was so funny because when the infj becomes an observer he tends to think he is invisible and so he was gazing away without any problem what so ever.I don't think he was looking for something in particular but then when that girl smiled I don't think he reacted that way because he was surprised I think he reacted that way because he was in shock as a result because the extroverted feeling fired back the introverted feeling so what really happened was self awareness and he was warm inside again.Infjs are passionate but they tend to restrain their feelings so in that moment when all that smile exchange happened the man immediately started to see the positive outcome from this genuine nice moment and so that passion may develop very fast when feeling something as positive as that and because of its simplity a nice smile there is no need to restrain anything. That warmth also reminded him of the love that he has to give and that he wants to give it not just think about it.If infjs will only think about it when they fancy someone and not show their affection it means they have no intention of developing their feelings because they already know their destiny subconsciously.

Sorry but I cannot find out where the INFJ is in the video. I can only see a beautiful representation of a lonely man who meets a lonely woman. INFJ is not all about loneliness. But lovely video, anyway; thanks for sharing. (Hope you don't feel anoyed because of my comment.)

I am INFJ, I agree with Rampo. I strongly relate with the male character in terms of observation, thoughts and reactions. The flowing and careful motions of his hands and body, his head and eye movement, gazing at objects and faces to get an impression of people. That melancholy look on his face is the way I look when I'm alone and depressed. There's also the intense and long gaze at subjects of interest. This completely captures my experience on a daily basis.

Actually another point about INFJ who idolized their preference type just like that guy love the beautiful woman who are like so perfect (this can be found such as an actor/idol/fictional character) who are seems like a perfect ideal person. We, INFJ, sometimes to seek perfection or harmony even regarding to love, and sometimes lead to high expectation. But in the end, the guy have to face reality or should I say accept the things that are in front of you. Nothing is perfect. And that's why the guy chose the woman he found in the cafe and stop deluluing his type of perfect beautiful woman.

This video is me... Accept it would have shown that after learning more about her, I discover she is not on the same path mentally or spiritually... And I know that the relationship will not last, so I lose interest in pursuing anything further... even sex which might risk having a child with someone I don't want to be with forever. Then I end up alone again, hoping to find another INFJ who sees the world like I do or if not at least would accept me for the way I see the world allowing me to be 100% openly myself with her. Maybe for those like me, our best bet is to change our approach on what society would consider the "norm" and find potential life partners... on videos like this!
Scroll down the comment section and shoot your shot! Maybe this is the best place we are likely to find someone for us...

Us infjs need to learn to make a move, it’s difficult but possible! It’s important to get out of your comfort zone and just do it! Use your weakass Se and train it, make it stronger and live in the moment from time to time. Keep yelling at your limbs Get Up! And simply make that scenario inside your head a reality, and so what if you get rejected? At least you’ll know and won’t spend a great amount of time guessing whether this person will feel the same or not. Just try...and if you fail....keep trying!

This isn't serious but I have made a relation between this video, my experience being an INTP and the 'gold pair' with INFJ. When I was like 17 years old I always was dreaming with finding love exactly how this video shows, and, obviously, I feeled like the sad dude in there expecting to find an awesome person who feels like the same, the funny thing is that I dreamed a lot of that relationship with this song in the backing (heavyweight by IM) I tend to idealize a lot before, maybe that's the trait we share with infj and what made us 'the golden pair', maybe that we both feel sad, lonely and idealize people. Actually I'm more realistic but these days i'm doing all that again d:

We tend to look for a relationship that will last a lifetime
We dont wanna waste effort, time and resources on someone we dont know that much
We're looking for a deeper connection
I personally, (already 18) find it hard to find that perfect person(Personality wise)I'd dedicate my life to

Your personality type has no indication of how your future is going to go. Personality is very fluid, so it can change by both internal and external forces. I, for example, have changed drastically as an INFJ. An example of an external force changing what kind of INFJ I am is my sister. She is a narcissist and is very controlling of me. She is a full grown adult still living at home, but feels that she has full control over the household despite our mom being head of household. This affects me strongly as I don't know how to stand up to her, since INFJs are non-confrontational. So I deal with a lot of mental abuse and manipulation. This brings out the darker side of my INFJ personality, which is not a side that I usually express outside of this scenario. An example of an internal force that changes what type of INFJ I am is my drive to push others into being better people. I have chosen to stop being lazy about making the world a better place, so I strive to help other people discover the better parts of themselves an express that side.
So to answer your question, no. Your personality type does not determine your future. It determines how you function as an individual. It is all up to you to decide if you will be lonely your whole life.
