For those struggling to find out which season subcategory they are, it helps to use makeup. For example either a cool or warm lipstick will tell you right away if your undertone is cool or warm, much like the silver/gold jewellery test. Trying on different lipsticks can also show if you look better in bright or muted colours like for example a Barbie pink versus a mauve lipstick... the right one will make you look healthy but the wrong one makes you look pasty and sick. Makeup can also reveal your level of contrast like, for example, does a heavy smokey eye overpower you? Can you use black liner or would a taupe or dark brown liner look more natural on you, or even just using eyeshadow instead of a liner? If you find you can't handle harsh contrast it's probably because the natural contrast between your features is lower. Another useful contrast test can be, does a bold lip make the rest of your face look faded, or is the bold lip in harmony with the way your other facial features also stand out? Even things like the white of your eyes standing out or not, or maybe an iris with a dark line around it are indicators of your natural contrast.
So basically if me pulling out black eyeliner is super hard and can only dream of Avril Lavigne Smokey eye but brown and eyeshadow liner looks nice it means I’m more like soft summer ? 😅
@@JigokuHebi I think so, if your features are more muted. I'm the same, I have to tone things down or it looks like the make-up is wearing me and not the way around lol.
I’m a soft summer, and my wardrobe shows it too. It’s nice to confirm these things. I wish I was warm though, I love warm colors so much more 😂 but I’ve always known they wouldn’t work on me
2:01 True Summer 5:05 Soft Summer 8:01 Light Summer Thank you for these videos, I still don’t know which season I am but I am getting closer (I hope). It would be great if you could make a video on finding skin undertone on olive skins
I’m so close to neutral that my color analyst struggled at first to determine whether I was warm or cool. But when she put a pale greenish-blue (a color we used to call aqua), vs. a warm-toned one on me, there was no question, definitely cool-toned. The aqua made my skin look like it had foundation and blush on and made my eyes brighter, it’s still my best color. Back then, 40 years ago, the Color Me Beautiful analysis I had didn’t subdivide the seasons. So, your video was helpful, based on your information, I think I must be a Soft Summer. I have brondish to light brown hair (depending on sun exposure) which is naturally always very streaky with many different shades in it, very pale skin and hazel eyes that are a green/gray with some golden brown flecks. I always prefer soft white and lighter colors from my Summer palette because I’m too pale and have hereditary undereye circles that can’t be completely covered. I can wear gold-toned jewelry well enough, if it’s not too dominant in size (not a problem for real gold, who can afford chunky gold pieces)? I always thought a good first-look cool/warm test is to hold up a warm camel beige, then a cooler taupe, and watch which flatters the face better. Despite learning towards neutral, yellowish, peachy, yellow-green or orangey tones just look awful on me. This suggests I’m closer to cool than warm. I didn’t know Soft Summer leans toward Autumn, no wonder I look good in khaki green!
I have freckles, my skin is pale, I have dark brown eyes, my cheeks are pink. I don't have warm skin but not cold. I feel comfortable in pale and light soft colors, do you think it's a soft summer for me?
Yay. Finally figured out I am a soft summer, and I see my wardrobe mostly reflects that. Platinum white hair, lightly tanned and freckled skin and medium hazel (brown, not grey) eyes. The platinum hair, which is long, is dominant. The hazel eyes were throwing me off a bit, in the analysis, so I never could slot myself in perfectly, but I fit the best in soft summer. Thanks!
True summer= cool, muted, medium contrast between all the features. Not very bright coloured eyes. Muted hair , more ashy. Soft summer: muted, cool, medium to low contrast Eye colours slightly grey Hair colours more muted and ashy Skin colour neutral or neutral cool Light summer: light, cool, low contrast Light eyes greyish undertone (no brown)
I believe I am a true summer. Only thing that makes me doubt is that my hair has always had a red tinge when sun bleached, though the overall color is more a medium ash brown. When I dye my hair to an ash brown it really makes my eyes pop (dark blue/grey)
I have always known I am a summer. There was never a question about it. With these subcategories, I would always get confused. I know I am not a true summer. And I can look great in both soft summer and light summer colors. My hair was platinum as a child and darkened a bit as I got older. It can get natural highlights and I tend to gravitate towards the soft palette when given the choice (like, I might LIKE the light shirt better than the soft shirt, but once it's on, I like the soft shirt better). I THINK I finally figured it out. I am a soft summer! Yay!
One color analyst identified me as a light summer, and another identified me as a true summer. I’m definitely a summer, just can’t figure out which one. I pull off blonde well, and was blonde as a child, so I feel like maybe a light summer? But I can also pull off light brown hair if I also darken my eyebrows….
From what I’ve learned you can tell by testing if Light Spring or True Winter colors look better on you. True Summers look better in winter colors than spring colors because their main characteristic is primarily their cool undertone. Light Summers have more of a neutral undertone so they can better pull off the warm tones of spring.
This helped so much! I knew I was a summer but Light Summer is the only one that had my hair color and eye color and those colors just made me happy immediately! Olive green has always been my go to color and go to neutral. Like, I crave it, i just have to have it. Thank you!
Love your video! My combo of neutral very light skin (next to my other light relatives, my skin looks a bit yellow) and rosacea make me avoid reds and yellows completely after much experimenting. You have confirmed I remain light summer even over age 50. The combination of the right soft-cool neutrals with the right soft-cool accent seems to be the trick. All neutral outfits look blah on me, and all brights wash me out. My skin is an unusual light neutral and I’m learning to keep my shoes more neutral (taupe or bone with nude legs, taupe or greyed navy with jeans. Monochromatic blends of blue, green and soft violets works well. And i’ve always loved the ‘right’ coral-i finally understand I’m looking for the cooler corals. And I’m staying away from very dark colors and black and white unless they are very soft. So I now have a smaller more mid-range wardrobe that mixes and matches nicely. I travel frequently and it makes packing the suitcase so much easier.
What about almost white pale skin with reddish/blueish hue, blue green eyes but honey-blonde hair with golden-ginger highlights in the direct sunlight? I'm confused, my natural hair colour is so weird :')
To tell for sure I would have to do a seasonal color analysis on you, but if you need more guidance I have this video here to help you determine your general color season & then you can narrow down the subcategory in my other videos! ruclips.net/video/Fmexy97LubQ/видео.html
@@bsndn8404 I did some digging and it seems that people who have this type of mix in their coloration fall under soft category, depending on the amount of warmth or coolness in their body. I have more cool undertones in my skin and eyes, only my hair is golden, so I guess I'm a soft summer
I used to think forever that I was neutral warm, most likely soft Autumn, since forever. But recently I've come to notice that I look 10x more stunning, softened, and enhanced in cool tones- especially muted or/and sometimes grey, not too dark in color value though. Warm tones make me look off, aged, sweaty, and sometimes tired. Colors that are clear or just bright, even jewel tones (which sucks), wash me out. In clothing, my biggest compliments have come from cool tones. I can look good in neutra-warm tones but mostly the ones Soft Summers can get away with too. I have a very muted complexion, and I lean neutral-cool. The issue is that I'm South Asian (Pakistani), while I have a light-medium complexion (lighter than most SA tbh), the way Soft Summer is described is almost tailored for ppl with Eurocentric looks or mixed. My eyes are a very dark brown and I have black hair, not an obvious brown in my hair and in pictures it almost feels as if it has a ashy wash over it but not rlly at the same time. I think the eye thing bothers me bc it doesn't feel grey to me- I have a faint grey rim and faint glass pattern, it's just in the sun, it's obviously brown. I will admit not honeyed or very orange, nor high chroma, but still dark brown. In the grand scheme of things, I don't have high contrast in my features (complexion, hair, etc.) I really think I'm a Soft Summer, but I almost want to crawl back to Soft Autumn bc it's "easier" and more trendy lol. The eye thing is making me have an identity crisis lol. I do know I'd be in a cool season no matter what, maybe I need to keep exploring but my gut and logic is telling me soft summer
I know I'm a summer, but I find it so hard to tell which sub type I fit the best. I have slightly dark eyes, hard to tell the exact colour - mostly grey but tones of green and blue. Pale cool toned skin, and light brown saturated hair, with some red and golden blonde tones only visible in sunlight. I lean toward soft summer as it's the palette I usually gravitate toward in clothing anyway, but I'm just not sure 😭
Hi! It’s hard to tell from your description, but I think you can definitely be categorized! If you need further help and would like to learn more about my consultation for a seasonal color analysis please email me at concepthree@outlook.com :)
Whoa. You sound VERY much like me. I have very fair, cool toned skin. Maybe a teeny bit cool-neutral. I have freckles. My hair is somewhere between blonde and brown, and looks cool toned, overall. But, in sunlight, I get a fair bit of red and gold coming through. And my eyes are grey/blue/green. But in a more medium shade. I THINK I’m a soft Summer. I know I’m a Summer, but I have some Autumn characteristics. However, I look terrible in gold, yellow, and orange. 😂
I must be a light summer But I also have noticeably strawberry-blonde hair and I like wearing gold jewelry (maybe it looks more cohesive with my hair?) But my skin is cool undertone. I can see a clear difference wearing a pastel icy blue, olive green, or teal when compared to any other color. It's like someone breathed new life into my features lol Plus those colors make my hair look even more red! Which I like :) I have also explored being a light spring, but I just couldn't see myself in it And my hair grows near the root an ashy blonde, but it is red further down. It's not due to the water in my house, and my hairdresser said it didn't really look like sun damage, and in fact was very confused by it lol So not sure how it's there. But my mum's hair was the same at my age!
Thank you so much! I always thougt I was a soft autumn, but a color analyst said that I am a winter (but that doesnt make sense to me) and after this video I now know that I am a soft summer!
I think I’m a light summer but not positive. My skin is very fair (cool or neutral porcelain makeup), eyes change from blue to gray to green, and hair is straight, fine and light ash brown with no red. I sunburn easily and have freckles on my arms. I tend to wear a lot of clear colors particularly blues. Lilly Pulitzer is my go to brand for spring and summer. My problem is what to wear in fall/winter. I look awful in some browns, olive, rust, and burgundy. The stores just don’t seem to have my colors in fall and winter. Generally I go for black and beige in winter because it is available.
I would definitely suggest trying to buy navy over black. A lot of summers can pull off cool-toned browns too. You can also wear light beige and grey in the autumn/winter. In terms of color, you could try berry, sage, or soft turquoise.
Me to I’m thinking I’m a summer but I’m confused because the roots of my hair are ashy brown/blonde but the ends always turn honey golden and are extremely warm also I don’t like bad in gold I thought I might be a light Springs but those colors don’t really suit me well.
I still don't know what I am, but helpful video nonetheless :) ash light brown hair (dyed platinum now), bright yellow-green eyes, but a super pale neutral-pink skin. Yellows horrible on me, but so do cool pinks and blues. Brights wash me out, pale hues wash me out. I only wear black because no colour suits me :( 😂
Light summer would have light features (colouring). Soft summer can have 'darker' colours like brown but they're still muted, there's a lack thereof of colouring
At which stage of life do you decide hair color? I had very light blonde hair as a child that turned ash blond (dark or medium… I have colored it so long, I forget). Also, my eyes are green in the center with a very distinct blue rim. I have freckles. I have a neutral skin tone according to Sephora, although I always thought it was cool. According to colors I always have been complimented while wearing, I am a light summer, but I haven’t been as light as the models for that season since I was a child. I have always burned very easily not then developed freckles, and to most people my tan looks like a burn. I have only been “tan” a few years in my life, and that was a dimmer or two when I took my young kids to the pool several times a week. Now only my forearms tan a pinky peach color. I’m old and have lots if freckles and sunspots now. I think the very muted colors of of soft summer wash me out, but what do I know? Am I a light summer or a soft summer?
@@lieslforbes6631 As you have not had a reply from anyone knowledgeable, I will say I have many of the same issues, especially the eyes. I am going with light because those are the colors I like and that look good on me. I think that the fact that those colors get you compliments should trump the rims on your eyes. Good luck.
@@lieslforbes6631 according to one analyst, she types ppl accdg to their natural hair at age 20 or so. So if you were light blonde as a kid, then turned darker ash blonde or ash brown, you'll still be in the summer season. Your subseason could change with age (from brighter to a more muted version - example true summer to soft summer). Hope that helps.
So hard to tell cool vs soft summer. Had white blond hair as a baby but def dark ash blond to med ash brown depending on where it grows on my head as a adult. Very dark int he back...
@erica - you may be in the more neutral zone - warmth or coolness is not your main characteristic. You might be light spring/ light summer or soft summer/ soft autumn.
if you have blue-grey eyes but with an interior gold 'aztec sun' pattern.. does that kick you out of summer and into autumn? Hair is ashy dark blonde-light brown - but can have some very subtle red highlights in the sunshine.. skin usually falls neutral when I buy foundation. Pink is too pink, and yellow is too yellow... thanks!
I think you can still be a soft summer. You just have a few hints of autumn in you, but probably not enough to really be an autumn. Imagine it like 60% cool 40% warm. Meaning you can probably steal a few colors from the muted autumn palette, but cool colors will be better on you in general.
This is me too. I wear mostly Summer colors but cheat with two-tone metals, brown boots, and bronze eyeshadow. I had my colors done years ago when it was just 4 seasons, but am thinking now maybe it’s Soft Summer.
prob more of a blonde red... on another video about 'muted/soft' on the border of autumn and summer, had a shocking realization that salmon, coral, peach and rose gold actually really works for me BUT bolder oranges etc. are just too contrasty strong... being on the border makes it a challenge!@@Nazarbi0312
I don’t know what subcategory of summer I am. I have cooker toned skin to neutral. I look better with cool blonde hair than warm blonde hair. I have extremely bright and light blue eyes with a navy blue outer ring. I’ve always been drawn to brighter colors and people compliment me when I wear classic bright red, light and bright greens and any shade of blue. This goes against all summer colors I think! I did a color analysis app that took a picture and said I’m a light summer. Maybe I’ve been wearing the wrong colors all along! I suit silver over gold and black drains me. Help!
You helped me out the most! I am a muted summer!!!!!!!!!! Years I have been struggling with this. Quick question, I am going to die my hair lighter, will that automatically put me in the light summer colour season? Thank you so much for explaining this sooo well!!!!! I am a subscriber for life and will tell other people about your channel!
It will not put you in other category because your category is innate and does not change. It's a biological thing. Artificial hair color change won't change anything
what if i have some yellow/brown spots in my green/grey eyes? can i still be a light summer? i have freckles in the summer as well, i usually fit cool tones the best, but i glow in gold jewelry, so i find it very hard to find my palette
I can't understand what I am. I look good in grey, I have more blue tones on my skin, my eyes is light brown with limbal ring. Do I need to have grey tone eyes to be considered true summer?
I’m trying to figure out my daughter’s coloring. She is a toddler and is blonde like I was as a child but it’s turning slightly darker, has some warmth and a bit of strawberry blonde tone. She will probably have brown hair as she gets older. But she definitely has true blue eyes with the glass wavy crackle and some subtle white highlights. Porcelain skin. I’d say her skin is neutral-cool, looks better with silver but gold isn’t icky.
I am extremely fair skinned/ pale and a natural blonde. I can’t tell if I’m cool or warm and have always thought I was neutral but recently I’m wondering if I’m actually an olive undertone. I would love to see a video about pale olive skin. I can’t find hardly any info about this topic and I feel like no one can help me find my season. I thought I was light summer but now I’m not sure
Hey, i think that dark skinned people can also be a summer, i googled it. But you haven't mentioned it yet. Please comment and say me your views on this point. Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤
I have dark ash brown/chocolate hair, super pale grey silver/blue/green cloudy eyes (wolf-like eyes), Sand-tone cool olive skin (bright cool yellow foundation looks best on me), overall I have a lot of grey/rose gold cast to my skin. Rose gold/Sand beige in Summertime is my exact skin tone but in Winter I go for a bright & cool true yellow-tone foundation. My veins are very purple and I suit silver/brushed gold/pearls/rose gold jewellery best. Bella Hadid/Mila Kunis/Irina Shayk/Adriana Lima/Bianca Balti are very similar colouring to me and my fashion inspo's.
I would say I am a light summer or cool summer but I cant wear any greens or browns. How can it be that Green is always recommended for summer types. I could wear a cool Olive as a child but not any more. My main colors are Mauve, Steel, Grey and Aqua, not much contrast in my features. PS: I guess I am a True/Mid/Sweet Pea Summer. Found that on Kettlewell - The Different Types of Summers, no greens included.
I think I’m a light summer, but I have quite pink skin (probably just from too much sun exposure in The Bahamas, I was born with porcelain skin). I also have light blue eyes and natural light ash blonde hair that I keep. Could I be a soft summer since my skin has more contrast (like a soft summer) of pink instead of being more neutral like a light summer? Thank you for any help!
Hi, it's possible to be a spring or summer even if you're not Caucasian or you're dark haired. Watch the draping vids of Xixiplease (spring), ASMR Twix (summer), Hyeri Vlog (winter), Jannat Ara (DA) & see which one resonates (also to train your eyes when you drape yourself).
I'm struggling. Online results tell me im a deep winter. May be its my own inaccuracy in estimated contrast levels. But hear me out. I think black and white colors makes me look slightly dull. I do well with a navy and soft cream color. Dark lipsticks tend to dull me even more. I look best in a blue toned rosy color like mauve. I've always thought i'm a winter. But now i'm thinking i might be a true summer .. any thoughts?
You very well could be a true (or soft) summer. I myself have blonde hair... and I'm most likely a bright winter. Some of us don't have the "typical" look for our seasons, it happens. 😊
After a ton of research I was pretty sure im a light summer because of my cool toned blue/grey/green eyes and my cool pink undertone. But my hair is more of a reddish dirty blonde and you said a light summer only has ashy hair .. which i definitely dont. I feel like the cool summer colors look perfect on me and warm colors wash me out and make me look sickly. Am i in between seasons or should i just consider myself a summer?
I have been told I am a Summer. I have blue and purple veins. I have hazel green eyes with gold specs. My mother was a medium olive skin tone and brown hair and eyes. My dad was a ruddy or reddish medium skin tone with light blue eyes and red hair. So according these charts and eye color I do not fall into any of the Summer categories. Also I burn and do not tan. I have light to fair skin. When choosing makeup I go with the second lightest foundation. The 3rd light is generally too dark, and the lightest foundation is too light.
I’m so confused…when I was young I had blonde hair but when I was 16 my hair was a dirty/light brown hair. I have gray blue eyes and my skin tone is pale but not the lightest shade in makeup.
Okay, now I'm confused... I've been researching all day trying to find out what I am, and I can't find out if I'm a light spring or light summer??? Which seems so weird, but listen: my overall body skintone is kinda cold, but kinda warm ish? My face is kinda warmer though, but then my hair is very light blonde, and has a bit of an ashy layer over the golden colour. Then last but not least, my eyes are a cold grey, with warm orangey brown rings around the iris... HELP
It can be confusing when you're a natural dark brunette wearing light cool blond hair. I think I am a light summer even though years ago I was considered a winter. That's because now I have low contrast and look best in cool colors that have some brightness to them
i’m not sure which type I am. Online analysis websites classify me sometimes as a summer, sometimes as a winter. i have dark brown eyes, light-medium ashy brown hair and really pale and cool skin. I don’t really know if you can be a summer with dark brown eyes. But i feel like I lack the vibrance and depth of a winter. I feel like I’m really muted, greyish and soft. Could I be a summer?
I'm wondering if a muted strawberry blonde type of ginger could be a summer? Like their hair has no lines of other colours really except a slight creamy white. Very much a beige blonde colour that makes their hair look quite thick but its not golden or orange or brown. I know someone like this and they match everyone in this video.
But all the examples of light summer have very bleached hair. If you look at their roots, they appear to beclose to the other two categories, so how do you know that these are truly “light summer?”
Please help 🙏 I have very light skin and cool undertone, light green/hazel eyes, my hair is mainly light ash brown with blonde highlights BUT also with a little bit of red highlights. 🤷♀️ So, does that make me a bit more warm then?
I have been studying this trying to figure it out myself. I watched a video where she concentrated on the eye color to determine if someone was warm or cool. Hazel eyes were normally put into warm. If you have some red under tone to your hair then that is an automatic warm. sounds like you could be a true or light autumn.
It`s so difficult... My skin is cold, but my hair is warm. Eyes are dark blue/ azure... I feel like I`m too cold to be a spring, but too warm to be a summer. I should probably get an analysis done :P
Hi! It’s hard to tell from your description, but I think you can definitely be categorized! If you need further help and would like to learn more about my consultation for a seasonal color analysis please email me at concepthree@outlook.com :)
Muted is when the hair, eyes, skin dont really stand out, it all sort of blends in. Nothing is “bright”. Where as the opposite of this is Bright. I find that it helps to understand the opposite of muted, to understand what muted means. Think of Megan fox compared to Gigi Hadid. Megan has pale skin, bright blue eyes and black hair. She appears bright and everything stands out. Where as with Gigi, her hair, skin colour and eye colour all sort of blend together, nothing particularly stands out from eachother. That’s what muted it. Hope that helps :)
IF YOU ARE A REDHEAD IT IS STILL VERY POSSIBLE TO FALL INTO A COOL SEASON! Hair color is not the only determining factor at play. Undertone and eyes are just as important. Take it from a summer season redhead with a working knowledge of color theory.
I can't Figure out which summer I am for the life of me I have Polish and spanish and german Grandparents so my complexion is a wild Mix Dark blonde hair Dark brown eyes (cant see pupil, so almost black) Dark eyebrows My skin has a yellow ish Tone in the Winter but a Quick and nice tan in summer Silver & Gold both fit me equally I only wear cool Tones, warm Tones make me Look horrendous If ANYONE knows which summer I am please Tell me!!
Everything about me says soft summer, but I am white with brown eyes. Not dark, not light either, just medium brown eyes. Does that mean I'm not a soft summer?
Check your value (high or low contrast) with a b&w picture...if your features are soft and blend i think you are summer but if your eyes/hair show contrast with your skin, your are winter.
I believe I’m a true summer - I’ve died my hair black and blonde in the past.. I feel my best look is dark brown.. my eyes change, sometimes they are very blue with a dark blue ring and lighter on the inside.. sometimes my eyes look grey, too. It depends on my mood. I was born with dark hair, then it changed to blonde, then back to brown. I then see Bella Hadid and wonder if I’m a soft summer..
Your dominant and secondary tonal directions (Deep, Light, Soft, Bright, Warm, Cool) can shift as your hair colour changes, as the natural level of contrast and brightness within your hair, skin and eyes alters. However, this is unlikely to be a dramatic shift, and one or two of your three tonal directions are likely to remain the same; similarly to seasonal analysis, you will shift within a range, and are unlikely to have a complete change of palette! But thanks for pointing this out. I’ll make sure to include a segment in future videos!
Question. I’m naturally an ashy dark blonde but get my hair bleached light ashy blonde. Do I base what I am based on my true hair colour or work off of the hair colour you choose to be??😊😊maybe it won’t make too much difference I’m not sure! Any help is appreciated x
@@TheKonnoisseur11 hair color matters because it has to do with your skin tone. When you're cool/warm toned, it is DEFINITELY reflected in both your skin AND your hair and eyes. It's all interconnected, that's why it all matters.
Currently, I'm a light summer with really pale skin, gray-blue eyes, and white blonde hair. However, my natural hair color is strawberry blonde. It's my only natural feature with warmth. With my natural hair color, would I still be considered light summer? Or would the hair alone put me into spring territory? Just curious! Thanks for the video.
Your natural hair color shows that you're on the warmer side. So no, you would probably not be considered light summer. And your color season doesn't change throughout life, that means you're probably still not a light summer.
So I have naturally dirty blonde hair, pale arms, blue veins, blue/greenish eyes. My face turns red super easily and very red undertoned anyways. Face is always darker/redder than the rest of my body lol. Please help. What season would I be?. I want to dye my hair and want to try copper but it's a huge risk with my redness in face. Otherwise I'll just do brown and highlights and play it safe.
@amanda - there are websites of hair dye companies where you can virtually try their dyes. I think Revlon has it - you can either upload a pic or use the camera from your phone. If you're a summer, it's best to stick to cool shades like ash brown or ash blonde.
Hi! It’s hard to tell from your description, but I think you can definitely be categorized! If you need further help and would like to learn more about my consultation for a seasonal color analysis please email me at concepthree@outlook.com :)
I wish I was warm though, I love warm colors so much more 😂 but I’ve always known they wouldn’t work on me
Soft summer can lean into some warms. Your dominant trait is soft. Less important the colour itself
2:01 True Summer
5:05 Soft Summer
8:01 Light Summer
Thank you for these videos, I still don’t know which season I am but I am getting closer (I hope). It would be great if you could make a video on finding skin undertone on olive skins
Thank youu!!!
Hi, Merriam Style has good vids on olive skin.
You totally sound like myself! 100%!
I can totally relate! I've also heard that neutrals are closest to soft summer as they can pull both warm and cool colours but it has to be muted.
I have freckles, my skin is pale, I have dark brown eyes, my cheeks are pink. I don't have warm skin but not cold. I feel comfortable in pale and light soft colors, do you think it's a soft summer for me?
you sound like you're describing me XD
Thanks!
Great explanation! I’ve recently been struggling to place myself between Soft and True Summer, but this really cleared it up for me.
True summer= cool, muted, medium contrast between all the features.
Not very bright coloured eyes.
Muted hair , more ashy.
Soft summer: muted, cool, medium to low contrast
Eye colours slightly grey
Hair colours more muted and ashy
Skin colour neutral or neutral cool
Light summer: light, cool, low contrast
Light eyes greyish undertone (no brown)
Deep summer maybe, then ?
i definitely don't pull off blonde, but i definitely am a summer, just which one?
@@adaireliame too! i think light😭
What is your natural hair colour.
The best way to tell is just how the actual colors look on you.
This helped so much! I knew I was a summer but Light Summer is the only one that had my hair color and eye color and those colors just made me happy immediately! Olive green has always been my go to color and go to neutral. Like, I crave it, i just have to have it. Thank you!
You are so welcome 🤗
This is me too, but strawberry blonde hair.
Do we have an answer yet
@@bsndn8404 I did some digging and it seems that people who have this type of mix in their coloration fall under soft category, depending on the amount of warmth or coolness in their body. I have more cool undertones in my skin and eyes, only my hair is golden, so I guess I'm a soft summer
@@MK-es8fw that sounds like me too thank you so much I thought so too
I used to think forever that I was neutral warm, most likely soft Autumn, since forever.
In the grand scheme of things, I don't have high contrast in my features (complexion, hair, etc.)
I really think I'm a Soft Summer, but I almost want to crawl back to Soft Autumn bc it's "easier" and more trendy lol.
The eye thing is making me have an identity crisis lol. I do know I'd be in a cool season no matter what, maybe I need to keep exploring but my gut and logic is telling me soft summer
You just helped me figure out (finally!) that I’m a light summer. Thank you! How frustrating this can be lol
So helpful and really well explained. I am a Light Summer!
I must be a light summer
But I also have noticeably strawberry-blonde hair and I like wearing gold jewelry (maybe it looks more cohesive with my hair?)
But my skin is cool undertone. I can see a clear difference wearing a pastel icy blue, olive green, or teal when compared to any other color. It's like someone breathed new life into my features lol
Plus those colors make my hair look even more red! Which I like :)
I have also explored being a light spring, but I just couldn't see myself in it
And my hair grows near the root an ashy blonde, but it is red further down. It's not due to the water in my house, and my hairdresser said it didn't really look like sun damage, and in fact was very confused by it lol
So not sure how it's there. But my mum's hair was the same at my age!
Thank you so much! I always thougt I was a soft autumn, but a color analyst said that I am a winter (but that doesnt make sense to me) and after this video I now know that I am a soft summer!
I’m a true summer for sure!
I still don't know what I am, but helpful video nonetheless :)
ash light brown hair (dyed platinum now), bright yellow-green eyes, but a super pale neutral-pink skin.
Yellows horrible on me, but so do cool pinks and blues. Brights wash me out, pale hues wash me out. I only wear black because no colour suits me :( 😂
Im pale, hazel eyes and brown hair, still not sure if im true summer or soft summer aaah
Could you explain what would be the biggest difference between soft summer and light summer? I have a really big problem deciding which one am I.
Light summer would have light features (colouring). Soft summer can have 'darker' colours like brown but they're still muted, there's a lack thereof of colouring
If you have grey, blue Green eyes you are probably light summer, if you have brown eyes soft or true
I have fair skin with really pink undertones, freckles, grey eyes and strawberry blond to light auburn hair, it feels like no palette really suits me!
Sounds like you might be a Light Spring, but it really depends if your undertone is cool or warm
@erica - you may be in the more neutral zone - warmth or coolness is not your main characteristic. You might be light spring/ light summer or soft summer/ soft autumn.
I have a obvious pink Overtone, but I think I am neutral.
struggling because my hair isnt super ashy. it has some red undertones in it. other than that I think I match soft summer well.
All of my features except my hair have cool qualities, my hair is medium brown and has a mix of auburn and golden highlights, can I still be a summer?
You look like a dark summer 🎉
I was so confused by color analysis this really helped.
I’m so happy it helped !
I though I was a light summer but I look really good in a deep mustard yellow
If you look good in mustard, you're probably warm toned, so not a summer.
if you have blue-grey eyes but with an interior gold 'aztec sun' pattern.. does that kick you out of summer and into autumn? Hair is ashy dark blonde-light brown - but can have some very subtle red highlights in the sunshine.. skin usually falls neutral when I buy foundation. Pink is too pink, and yellow is too yellow... thanks!
I’m the same and would love to know. Hard to decide. 😁
I had my colors done years ago when it was just 4 seasons, but am thinking now maybe it’s Soft Summer.
autumn or spring… is the red more of a blond red or brown red?
prob more of a blonde red... on another video about 'muted/soft' on the border of autumn and summer, had a shocking realization that salmon, coral, peach and rose gold actually really works for me BUT bolder oranges etc. are just too contrasty strong... being on the border makes it a challenge!@@Nazarbi0312
Told by various people that Red is my color, but I‘m also a Summer (??)
Summer palette has reds in it, but not bright rich red. It's a cooler red with some white/ grey in it (more muted).
So happy it helped! If all other characteristics still match then yes !
It will not put you in other category because your category is innate and does not change. It's a biological thing. Artificial hair color change won't change anything
what if i have some yellow/brown spots in my green/grey eyes? can i still be a light summer? i have freckles in the summer as well, i usually fit cool tones the best, but i glow in gold jewelry, so i find it very hard to find my palette
help! i think i’m a soft summer but i’m not sure! i have warm olive/hazel eyes, ashy brown hair and cool toned skin
I can't understand what I am. I look good in grey, I have more blue tones on my skin, my eyes is light brown with limbal ring. Do I need to have grey tone eyes to be considered true summer?
Light summer that really helped ! Do you a light summer color swatch packet that can be purchased.
I think I'm either a True Summer or True Winter but I'm not sure which one it is..
What about gingers? :'( I am cool and muted skinwise but have warm, dark red hair. eyes are blue with yellow spots.
I'm pretty sure I'm a light summer but my eyes are blue with brown in them.
Is grey the soft summer?
When doing hair color you left out gray. The best I was able to see, I'm a true summer?
Go by your natural hair color at around age 20
is it possible to be a light summer as a non caucasian person? i would love to see the different seasons on non caucasian people
Hi, it's possible to be a spring or summer even if you're not Caucasian or you're dark haired. Watch the draping vids of Xixiplease (spring), ASMR Twix (summer), Hyeri Vlog (winter), Jannat Ara (DA) & see which one resonates (also to train your eyes when you drape yourself).
@@kitty_s23456 oooh thaaanks!
From what you explain here, I think I might be a light summer.
Personally, I have soft summer eyes and soft autumn hair. I'm neutral -warm so I supposed I Soft Autumn but it is so hard
Light summer ! This helped so much
I have been told I am a Summer.
What about dark brown eyes
That's because now I have low contrast and look best in cool colors that have some brightness to them
I'm a soft summer. However, I do have some red in my hair, which can be misleading. However, I am not a full-blown redhead
i’m not sure which type I am.
I have identified as both a summer and a bright spring. I think bright spring.
I'm Japanese. I like your video🩷 Thank you!
Thanks ! 🙏🏽
How does Jennifer Aniston fall into soft summer - she has bright blue eyes and golden hair colour. Not muted eyes and ashy hair colour?
She has her hair dyed blond, is more like a brunette.
Please help 🙏
I have very light skin and cool undertone, light green/hazel eyes, my hair is mainly light ash brown with blonde highlights BUT also with a little bit of red highlights.
I was typed as a light summer but I’m naturally brunette and would say I’m medium contrast
I'm a soft summer with natural red hair - It's rare, but it can happen. I was professionaly analysed in 2018
My eye colour is black which summer am i
It`s so difficult... My skin is cold, but my hair is warm. Eyes are dark blue/ azure... I feel like I`m too cold to be a spring, but too warm to be a summer. I should probably get an analysis done :P

I really love your top! Where can I find it? Is it maybe Soft Summer colour?
It's from Sandro. I bought it a few years ago so they likely don't have the same exact one, but the styles always stay consistent!
what does “muted” mean in this context? for some reason i’ve always been confused by this in these videos
It means colours with less saturation/more grey eg. Ash brown hair is muted, and black hair is clear.
I hope this helps!
Hope that helps :)
you’re gorgeous af
You can have some golden in your hair even though you’re true summer. Some people are coole with warm hair
What if you are an auburn with gray eyes and super fair but ridiculously cool toned?
Then again I have about 6 different colors in my hair
I still can’t find which one I am. I’m so confused
I can't Figure out which summer I am for the life of me
I have Polish and spanish and german Grandparents so my complexion is a wild Mix
Dark blonde hair
Dark brown eyes (cant see pupil, so almost black)
Dark eyebrows
My skin has a yellow ish Tone in the Winter but a Quick and nice tan in summer
Silver & Gold both fit me equally
I only wear cool Tones, warm Tones make me Look horrendous
If ANYONE knows which summer I am please Tell me!!
I watch all video of seasan but the coular of my ayes I don't find 😐
I’m a true summer
Like your videos!..I'm curious, what is your season?
Bright Spring!
I'm a light summer :)
i am a true summer but I have sparkly eyes, everything else fits.
ugh i thought i was a bright winter but i think i’m a true summer
I was having ths same issue haha. Soft summer it is!
I‘m so confused. I thought I was spring because of my bright blue with yellow eyes, but I have ash brown hair and I thought my skintone is warm 🥴😂
What season and sub are you?
I have all cool features but more bright/sparkly eyes.
What about Cool Summer?
I’m a light summer!
Karen here. Please include gray and salt and pepper hair
Such a great vid!
Thanks 😊
Question. I’m naturally an ashy dark blonde but get my hair bleached light ashy blonde. Do I base what I am based on my true hair colour or work off of the hair colour you choose to be??😊😊maybe it won’t make too much difference I’m not sure! Any help is appreciated x
I believe your current hair color is what matters, because your color palette might change with age (hair starts losing pigments).
I think this video puts too much emphasis on hair. It really is dependent on your literal skin
@@Petals_midair nope. The Natural hair color is what matters.
@@violethill3745 the vein test is not reliable
Yes you would be considered a light summer and you can probably wear some light spring colours. Light summers have very little contrast.
Summers not all have ash hair!
I've noticed that if I dye my hair reddish it does bring out the red places on my skin. plus the ash colors look better with summer skin tones.
@amanda - there are websites of hair dye companies where you can virtually try their dyes. I think Revlon has it - you can either upload a pic or use the camera from your phone. If you're a summer, it's best to stick to cool shades like ash brown or ash blonde.
Oh, maybe I can still be light summer anyways. Haven’t been sure because of natural hair color.
