Damn fine choice sir, damn fine! Had mine 2 seasons now, absolutely love it. Rock solid, comfy and enough storage. I've added a pole winder drawer to mine for that little bit extra and to make it the right height The pole winder storage it comes with, your winders fall all over the place, so I got Rig Racks from Box Trays, and then you can fit 2 rows of Preston 20cm (green winders) in there Bad points imo are the footplate plastic trim soon breaks and the plastic collars for the extending legs break, but I upgraded mine to the aluminum ones you see on eBay, not cheap but well worth investing it
Many thanks Ben, bought one of these yesterday afternoon after watching this, (last one in the shop) I am an avid Preston tackle tart & this is nice & light but I see what you mean about the build quality, very surprised from Preston. I like the set up & it is really stable, will be loading it up for a match at the weekend to see how it measures, I feel it will need longer legs for the side trays to be more comfortable. great unbiased opinion on this. many thanks. still a nice bit of kit from Preston Innovations.
Looks a good box, excellent review. My only comment is that the seat does look a bit too high for you which could put more pressure on your back, remember Tommy Pickering’s 90 degree angle for your legs.
Awesome vid Ben. i have just started to buy fishing gear again as i had to sell all mine. and couldn't resist i purchased the Absolute blue. very impressed i have had the white and black before. without doubt unbeatable boxes for strength.stability and comfort, just the only negative is the weight and massive width of footplate but again good in one way just filled with tackle a problem at times. best of luck with the box hope it serves you well.
Its a good box. It's solid. Footplate can be a bit of a pain getting it to secure and the seat is a little high for me when fishing past 13m. I'm 5'7. Good video 👍
Great boxes, Loved mine extremely comfortable… it is still hiding in the shed as I will not sell it. The only down side for me were the feet. I broke more than I can remember but that was dragging it in and out of the car.
Great vid Ben…….love the unbiased view. I want a new seat box but can’t decide which one. I pleasure fish only & mainly commercials. I’d prefer something lightweight but stable…….so was looking at the inception (not station). This vid helps. Cheers.
Thanks Jon. Yeah really impressed with it. I'm personally not a fan of H frames i tried but it wasn't for me. Don't discount the MAP H30 in your search a great box.
Great review Ben. I actually have the Inception station in white. Can't fault it and the 30mm legs are super stable even with the inner legs lowered. Highly recommended Regards Steve
I sold my Inception White Edition and bought an XR Pro Limited 500. I find the hardness of the seats about the same, a little too hard. The Matrix seems to get a little softer over time. I could have gone for the new Absolute, but the XR Pro's easily extendable footplate was the deciding factor. That's just annoying with Preston. You can also rinse the base plate of the Matrix more easily due to the smoother finish. Finally, I like the layout of the drawers at Matrix better, especially with the new shallow drawer that now also has inserts. A disadvantage of the Inception and Preston in general is that the carrying strap gets caught behind the pins. The new Absolute also copied a lot from Matrix: profiled legs, all legs with standard internal threads, the lower unit that can be removed from the frame, the sliding unit that now automatically clicks into place with a bracket that can now also be disconnected. The Matrix is just a bit more modern, but with the comfortable seat of the Absolute it would have been perfect. But in the end, maybe I just wanted something different. However, for a box with 30mm legs and for the price, the Inception is an excellent choice.
Great video Ben I've the inception 150 and presume it's the same height , as your new box, and I do have to put the preston ventalite side trays and back trays in a set order, otherwise the side tray isn't tall enough ,same as the pole sock has to be at the very top on most venues, not all, But apart from that I think the box is very solid, I love the handwheels, tons of room for all your terminal tackle etc, I'd like more spirit levels on it ,but that's just my personal preference, Tight lines Ben.
I brought this as it's lighter than my s25 but it's stable being 30 mm legs, only issue I had is my matrix ext side tray pulls the footplate out of the pins if I put it on all 3 legs,it's fine if I don't put it on the front leg, otherwise it's been great
Ben. I forgot to mention that the leg top inserts come out, if you remove the extending legs and use a brush stale they will just pop out with a little bit of pressure so you can change the colours or there is inserts with a threaded middle available
Good honest review, I have one of these boxes and they are ok but not the best in my humble opinion. You are right about the footplate, it can be a pain. Also you definitely need extending legs on every leg on the box. The mag lock catches are not the best, they seem to have a tight spot at times and can be stiff to close. All in all not a bad box for the price but I wouldn't have another one. Once again its all about options 😌
Ben. How are you getting on with your inception station ? Be great to see a updated video and did you manage to get your leg inserts changed ? Cheers mate 👍
@@Angling4U They are fantastic boxes. I've even fully extended the legs and stood on the foot plate and at 5ft 9 " and nearly 14 stone it was absolutely solid.
Great review Ben,I purchased one of these when they first came out ,agree with footplate comment but having used it for a while it gets easier, great box for the money ,I also have the wheel set for it which works really well ,keep up the good stuff 👍
Hi Ben.The only fault with the box is the drawers, they are so easy to pull out and so you can easily lose tackle if you pull out a bit too far.Be very careful.
Not the best idea,eh. That's why I've got a map h30, , to get it exactly how I want it. £450 and you have to have it as it comes, that's the thing about framed boxes I don't like. Good video as usual, cheers.
Nice box, Ben. Love my light inception and I’ve used it now for just over a year and half. I’ve had zero problems with it but I might look at that new absolute in the future. The inter-lok rig trays also look brill. I do agree with you on simplifying your fishing and getting rid of things you never use. How did you find the white absolute for cleaning and did it stain with using particular baits mate? Thanks for the video 👍
The only reason is I like to fish with most ranges of gear or the channel. I have always liked the inception. My friend was bugging me on the z36 to buy so i decided it was time.

Might be a plan fella cheers

So glad you got the last one I hope the match went well & the box stacked up. a fab box for the money
Great video and unbiased view Ben. Ordered after reviewing and my new station came today. It looks absolutely awesome and so comfortable!!!🤩
Fantastic Mark I hope you have many happy memories on it.
Great Vid Ben, Do you need more reducing inserts-Matrix /Preston.
Mate you're a legend thanks again for sending them.
excellent upload Ben i still have the original inception so was good to see this updated version with the cassette and new foot plate cheers.
Your welcome thanks fella
Looks a good box, excellent review. My only comment is that the seat does look a bit too high for you which could put more pressure on your back, remember Tommy Pickering’s 90 degree angle for your legs.
Thanks Paul. Yeah, slightly higher I adjust the rear when I fish like you mentioned. I've been fine up to press been at 13m.

Yeah I had the White a few years back a lovely box
Love mine . The foot plate does bug me ,but after struggling with a H frame box I’m happy 👍👍
I think I have mastered it now

It is definitely a little higher but I'm good with it up to press. I think i have the foot plate dialed now though.
Great boxes,
Loved mine extremely comfortable… it is still hiding in the shed as I will not sell it. The only down side for me were the feet. I broke more than I can remember but that was dragging it in and out of the car.
Thanks for sharing! Dan. I'll be careful lol
I went for a Matrix XR 36 Pro box 👍
Managed to get it £495
Bristol Angling Centre
Love it

Good to know! Steve thanks for the info. I'm finding the same. had a few dodgy pegs lately adjustment has been fab super solid

That is correct Kirk. I put on the rear tray first then kit safe then side tray

All good fella only used it a handful of times due to operation. I'm loving it though

Yeah mastered the foot plate now but well happy with the box
Top impartial review Ben. Its a solid piece of kit. I love my absolute the only 1 downside for me is the weight. Mega heavy as you know.
Totally agree cheers bud
I have the Inception 3D 150 box and love it!
Lovely job
Would the top winder tray not come off and go underneath with Theo the other winder trays to lower the seat height 👍
Ill have a look but i think its attached to the draws
Really enjoy your views on fishing, and appreciate you taking time time answer comments 👍
That's what i was thinking 🤔
Looks a really comfy , good looking box Ben 👍👍
It is! Ian with that gel seat
Hi Ben.The only fault with the box is the drawers, they are so easy to pull out and so you can easily lose tackle if you pull out a bit too far.Be very careful.
I did see that easy to pull out but don't balance when extended as most
Good review Ben, looking forward to the long term review.
You and me both!
No the foot plate get worse mate as time goes on its hard to find the locking pins, still love it tho
I think i have mastered it now
Heard what you did for Big Bird tonight. Respect my friend.
Thanks Colin. He's a great guy lovely channel
Brilliant review pal I'm same got one when they 1st came out Brilliant box .carry on the good work buddy love the channel

Another great review Ben….. keep them coming
Thanks, will do! Sean
Just saved this video for after the first time fishing live and you chuck the spoiler in. Was gutted. Still gotta watch it though ;)
Sorry! fella. At least its a good watch
Take the top unit off and put it on the stacker?
I would i think its attached to the draw units

Thanks bud

Thanks for sharing! Andy I'm looking forward to getting it on he bank
Interesting review as indeed all yours are - I do think you look to be sitting a little high on this box ?
A few people have mentioned the same i agree. once i set up for real with all the trays on its been spot on
Appreciate it might not be the most impartial review, is this the same seat-box that Joe Carrass did a my new seat box review a few weeks ago
No bud mine inception station that's the H frame version mines a solid frame
Those leg`s are to short going to be a stretch to reach your side tray.
nah sorted easy reach side tray once all level on the peg not on my hilly garden lol
cant understand why you have come down from 36 to that ben is it the weight?
The only reason is I like to fish with most ranges of gear or the channel. I have always liked the inception. My friend was bugging me on the z36 to buy so i decided it was time.
@@Angling4U ok ben?
Preston interception station
Yeap loving it
And me I love mine
It’s too high for u mate 100%
i thought that at first once set up on the peg correctly and even its bang on. Another cassette would be too much.
