- I spent 10 days in Chalten before being able to hike Fitzroy, so here is my take on this ''off the beaten path'' hiking destination in Patagonia. It's a young and small town in Argentina and these are the key things to know before you go.
I also take you guys along as we do the one must do hike here to Lago de los Tres, which offered a great challenge and some incredible views.

FItzroy has been on my radar for 40 years, since i was a kid reading Lionel Teray's book Conquistadors of the Useless, a real classic read in the mountaineering world describing his first ascent of Fitzroy and mountain ranging all over the world. It is a bucket list item for me to get down there to check it and Patagonia out.
Es un lugar que cuando lo conoces te deja sin palabras, pura conexión!! 🙂
verdad! muchas gracias :)
@@lifebylinda very good Video😍✌✌abrazo desde chile
Suerte!

We are planning a trip to El Chalten to do some hiking and found your video so very informative and enjoyable to watch. I give you a lot of credit to push through with the hike and taking the time to vlog (not easy) in spite of being sick. Much appreciated!!!

My dream destination
I've been wanting to go to this place. Such an interesting terrain.
It is! one of the most unique I've seen for sure. Hope you get to go explore there soon
Wow-what a beautiful place! I would love to do this hike someday! Gotta get a bit more fit lol Can't believe you did while you were still sorta sick :-O
haha yes! a bit of being prepared and not being sick would make it that much easier. You'd love it though, it's beautiful
May I know what month you did this hike? your video is incredible.
Well produced & edited video. I guess not many paths to the top of the mountain?
What a lovely video! What month was this taken?
Hi! What month was this? Also, i like your jacket! Which Columbia option was it?
Hello,
Is It possible to make this hiking to Fitz Roy in winter?
It's cool to see this mountain after listening to the audiobook by Scott Siglar named "Mt. Fitz Roy". Check it out if you like SiFi.
Fantastic video, thank you very much :) -28 days before my deoarture for Patagonia. Btw, when you say "cash" you mean US dollars or Argentine Pesos?
Pesos :) have an awesome time!
Was this hike in March? Just want to confirm and if it's a good time to go there
During my Patagonia trip this was indeed the best hike I did, though being rivaled by the hike up to mirador base las torres in Torres del Paine. It is indeed very important to fill up your car whenever you can. Besides the fact that the roads are at times pretty crappy which in my case caused my rental car to break down on a dead-end dirt-road, about 2,5 hours drive from the nearest cell-phone reception.
Cool! I took the plunge on an Antarctica trip for December this year (2022 already?!) and hoping to squeeze in a few days here. Good to know the major hike can be done in a day or two, thanks for the info!
Nice work 80s Baby.
😁 thanks so much!
Hey Linda!
I am making a video about some of my time in Patagonia and I was wondering if I could use some of your footage shown on this video?
I'll link your channel in my bio and I'll give credit also at the end of the video.
I hope we can work together and make something happen.
Thank you for your time :)
Daniel
What season was this in the Southern Hemisphere?
It was fall :)
I hate ads.
$20-$30usd for a meal!?!?! In ars pesos? I'm paying $6-$7 for a fancy steak entree dinner in Buenos Aires using pesos cash.
Yeah, BA is the streets. El Calafate, Chilton, Ushuaia cater to international travelers which usually means majority have money and enjoy fine dining
