Used to love these events. Been to a few and although they've lost the appeal now, I still have great memories of them. And made some long term great mates along the way!
5:35 Fun-fact: The Screamer series (called "Bleifuß" in Germany - literally "leadfooted"), was developed by Graffiti which later became Milestone, who are known for racing games (mostly simulation style games, but also arcade racers like the Hot Wheels Unleashed game). There are four games in the series (Screamer, Screamer 2, Screamer Rally and Screamer 4x4 as well as a top down racing spin-off ("Bleifuß Fun" in Germany, or "Ignition" everywhere else). The last two games mentioned were not programmed by Graffiti/Milestone however. Most of them (IIRC Screamer Rally is still missing) area also available at GOG to play on modern machines. :)
Seems like a great convention, I love trying the old and obscure! Arcade Punch Out definitely triggers my imagination, hope I get to try one someday. I’ve heard about the PC-FX Zenki-beat ‘em up, appears to be one of about 3 games playable for a non-Japanese speaker. The rest are RPG, strategy, FMV and visual novels.
Awesome editing! Hearing how much footage you had taken made me wonder how you would manage to get it down to a normal episode length. Along with using the map was a great touch!
Great video, shame I didn't spot you there. Blackpool expo is good fun but the same people do Manchester expo and that is just bigger and better, double the number of pinball machines, double the number of market stalls. The audio is also pretty bad at Blackpool so it's hard to understand what they are saying on stage. The problem with the play expo events is they have the same arcade machines every time. The console section is fantastic and they do mix up which games are playing, so that is good. Blackpool this year was really quiet (I went on Sunday) so there was no queues for the arcade except the big sit on games. Pre-lock down it was much harder to get on the arcade games you wanted and you couldn't play too long as you felt guilty with people waiting. These days I prefer arcade club they have a better range of arcade games and some really cool crazy japanese arcade machines.

I don’t know anything about video production, but this looked really high quality so well done! The transitions using the expo layout diagram were great. I also loved seeing all those small CRTs in the retro room when you panned across for some reason 😀 Good to see your DK Bongo skills too. Do you hit the sides instead of clapping?
Thank you! Good to know all the time I spent getting the camera settings and editing right was worth it! And yeah hit the sides of the bongos, it’s faster, and claps wouldn’t have been recognised at the show because it was too loud
Alan's stall is always a highlight. But he's terrible for the high profile shoot em up games. With everything being re-released on PS4/switch the prices of those games on the older consoles has crashed. But Alan has not reduced any of his shoot em up prices to match the current market value. So £175 for Saturn Battle Garaga is really expensive when you can buy it now on ebay for £130. An xbox 360 shoot em up can be £50 on ebay and £90 on Alan's stall. He is great for other genres and has so many games you will not find anywhere else. And answering your question, personally I have all the shoot em ups on PS4 now, but over time the switch has turned out to be the best shoot em up console with a massive library of classic and new shoot em up games.
I would love to visit his shop sometime but it’s so far away, and hard to get to! I didn’t think his prices were bad from checking eBay on the day, else I wouldn’t have bought them

What a niche party tricky... 100% perfecting a Donkey Konga track
I went to this event in London a few years back. Definitely the best retro event in my opinion

Looks like such a great time!
You are right about Sega. Most of my favourite arcade memories are from Sega games.
Amazing. I can feel my social anxiety healing just by watching this. Thanks for all the hard work on this one. ☆

Glad you enjoyed and helped you out too! :)
Some great shots of the event! Have to try and make it to an event soon.

Fantastic job. Loved being part of it and can’t believe it was 2 weeks ago

Great footage of this event!
Great editing, it's like being there with you in person.
Thanks! It was a struggle to edit this one so I’m glad it came out good in the end! :D

Great upload , nothing this good in Australia, can’t wait to move back to Uk
That’s a shame! I thought Australia would have good events like this too!

Amazing video!
Thank you! :)
Really great vid, it almost feels as if I were there through this vid
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! Was tough to decide how to edit this one, glad it worked out in the end!

Great footage! Kudos to the two extra camera men, I think if I gave my camera to a mate he'd drop it down the bog.
Thank you 😊 love trying to be a camera guy
@@TechTomson we really do appreciate the help ♡
Thank you! They did a great job getting me loads of footage! Almost too much haha
