"I've used Gnome themes for so long, that nothing on KDE looks good to me" - same here, same here.

Finally. When this goes public might try Solus. Can't now because Gnome/GTK is cancer. Kube is the next mail client in development. Looks like it is ready? I don't know,I don't use mail clients kube.kde.org/features.html But 90% of home users could give two craps about a mail client.

Number one issue of KDE is that it ain't GNOME ;)

Great video. I love the way you customized the DE. So much so that I am about to put Plasma back on my machine :) What icon theme is that?

It's perty. But I'm trying to kick the distro-hopping habit.

Kmail is kind of left behind this days. They are developing a new client named Kube. In the meantime I'm using Mailspring as mail client on my plasma desktop and is working great.

and of course The Software Center is being completely redone for (IIRC) the 4.x release anyway. The third party stuff is one thing that I remember them saying they wanted to change the way things worked, anyway

@AJ Reissig, just got an SSD for my computer and not sure if I need to do anything else to configure it for an SSD? Do you just install it as normal? Believe in the past you needed to change the FSTAB, or whatever it was called, but we don't need to do that anymore if using an updated distro right? Couldn't find a straight answer online. Thanks

I'll run you through what I do to install an additional drive. In this example, I'll add a hard drive, format it with a single partition, and I'll call it data1. First, format and partition the drive (use gparted or command line, whatever you're comfortable with). Write down the drive letter combination for your new drive partition (in my case it was sdb4). You can also get that information with the fdisk -l command through the command line. We now need to create a mount point, so from the command line, enter sudo mkdir /mnt/data1 . We now need to edit the fstab, which requires root privileges, so either use a terminal based editor, or open your regular text editor as root. Add the following line to the end of the fstab: /dev/sdb4 /mnt/data1 ext4 defaults,x-gvfs-show 0 0 Be sure to change the sdb4 to whatever your system has named your partition, and if you named the drive something other than data1, correct that as well. Save fstab and reboot the system. You'll now see the new drive listed in the devices section of your file manager if your using nautilus/nemo or dolphin (not sure on other file managers). WARNING: If you screw up fstab, you may not be able to boot the system. Have a backup plan in case you make a typo. I keep a USB with Ubuntu 16.04 install image on it for just that type of problem. Let me know if you need more information!

I don't know why torture yourself with Kmail. I also tried it few times but it was literally THE WORST mail client ever made. It's just a trash and no worth of any attention. It should die out. Just go straight to Thunderbird and everything works like a charm plus it's much more advanced and mature, and... simple. I love Plasma but some parts of KDE should be killed because they are not in pair with today's standards and they are rather anachronisms, experiments that didn't work out. There are other things that work great so let's forget about those mishaps and use the good ones.
EDIT: Don't be fooled by partition manager. It's bad as they come. At surface it's great but when you do anything real and you see the errors and problems.... No partition were usable after KDE partition management treatment. So once again, go to GParted. Some application are non avoidable no matter what DE you use.
